Hey Techne, I'm pretty sure they sent you one from the old batch/a review copy, there is no way. I have the same mouse and I absolutely love it! I'm not experiencing any of the issues you are facing, no flex on the sides (just like the Model O you gotta press really hard to activate the side buttons), no flex or creaking from the clicks and scroll wheel doesn't shift. Maybe try and see if you can get it replaced, it's a bummer that you got such a messed up one because otherwise I feel like you might have liked it!
I bought this mouse from Amazon and I did not have ANY of these problems on my copy. There is no side flex that could trigger the side buttons. The side wobble on mouse clicks one and two were VERY slight. The scroll wheel doesn't slide from side to side. Anyway, I think you just got the alpha version of this mouse. If any of you get a mouse with problems he is describing, then there is a problem with that mouse and you should ask for a replacement. The build quality of the mouse is excellent.
I actually returned my model 0- and kept this mouse , the only thing that bothered me was the left and right clicks , I had no flex on mine and everything seems fine, in terms of competitive you never really switch the dpi I have all of the dpi set to 800. And in terms of the holes being 2 big I don’t mind them all about preference.
OMGits ALEGEND factory problem with the scroll wheel , and I was a little skeptical on how long the cable was going to hold up due to the packaging , other than that the reason I went with the mm710 was the shape. Both are very good mouses and both are running into a lot of problems since they are both fairly new. In the next few months I expect the next batches to improve.
I've had most of the problems shown in this video but the build quality didn't really affect my usage of the mouse. I don't think you would squeeze that hard on the mouse, to begin with which, in my opinion, makes the mouse perfectly find with the flex.

1st RJN and many other youtubers got this mouse sent to them for review "sponsored" so take that how you will! 2nd why would/should I give the company another $50 of my money after this? Hey Techne, I wanted to first thank you for the honest review. It's refreshing to hear someone speak plainly and honestly about a product even if it's hyped to all hell (like the model O-). There seems to be multiple revisions of this mouse out there at this time. I bought one from Amazon and it had all kinds of problems, similar to what you experienced. I just got my second one today and I will say it is a MASSIVE improvement over the first. The buttons have little side play (similar to my Skoll mouse, maybe even less). The mouse clicks don't creak (my 1st mouse's right click had the same creaking as yours does in the video)and feel great, though mouse 2 feels a little harder to press in now than mouse 1. The scroll wheel doesn't rattle like my first one and feels solid. The side wall flex is still there BUT I have to press around 4 times as hard to get the buttons to fire. I would consider this issue to be fixed. This mouse is much more confidence inspiring than the first mouse and I think everything is fixed now. I think it may be worth your time to revisit it like you did the model o-. I will say the mouse feet on the new copy did not come with the plastic on the bottom of them and they feel smooth right out of the box (they look like they may be a tad thicker too). Keep up the good work and I think you should make some "Right there" T-shirts!

@@TheTechne CM Issued a statement, cancelling all orders put through them saying that they are revising the MM710 and shipping out updated copies with all the flaws fixed. Get an updated batch and redo your review.
I got this mouse a few days ago. Personally I don't have any of the build issues you mentioned from 3:18-4:49. Mine definitely is more robust than that. The side buttons do click if I press hard enough, but I'm not sure if it happens as easily as it appears to on yours. They would never activate like that during normal use for me though, it's actually pretty difficult to do with a normal grip. So I'm wondering if you got one of the earlier ones. They definitely did fix some things, but very last minute for some reason, so some bad batches got out there.
I'm not trying to defend Cooler Master for releasing this clearly unfinished product, but you should at least mention that most of these issues are fixed in the newer batch. They're also re-releasing an updated version October first I believe. Personally, the version I got yesterday has zero issues and is made very well.
Same, mine has no issues yet and I got it after I watched Rocket Jump Ninja. I know that techne has an honest opinion and I just have a different opinion to him, that is just how it goes.
Does your mouse has the same issues like in this video at 3:57 - 4:15? I checked your channel and apparently you play overwatch, so is this a problem to shoot Hanzos' arrows with post-travel this mouse has? If you have a mouse with 3360/3366 sensor, do you feel the difference compared to 3389, is it more responsive etc? Sorry for so many questions, I am not able to return it, if I will buy this mouse, since I live out of EU and US
@@РабиН-х1р mine kinda moves like how his does if I click close the scroll wheel, however clicking normally it does not bulge like his. I've had no issue with hanzo as my mouse doesn't have much post travel. I can't feel any difference between the 3389 and a 3360/66 because they're so close. My aims felt better but thats probably more because of the shape than the sensor.
Hey man, watched a fair few of your reviews, just want to say I think you have a few misconceptions on grip type. No hate just something i picked up on after watching a dozen or so of your reviews.
Update 7 months later with MM711 : Right click bottom-out still feels sticky/cracking , LMB too but a bit less , scroll wheel does move side to side (and stays wherever you push it) but way less , buttons still "wobble" backward and forward. No creaking besides LMB/RMB , no side buttons activation when squeezing , a little bit of bottom plate flex , no side buttons pre travel and tiny bit post travel like most mice. LMB/RMB pre travel little to none , post travel way too much. As for the holes , im about to return mine because just like you , the holes are causing discomfort on my pinky.

Nice review, appreciate the honesty and detail, but saw a CM rep say on reddit that the pre-production batches got mixed with the newer batches in the amazon warehouse. The post-production models should fix the wobbling, creaking,side flex and the rattle.

Bought this mouse in September 2020. It’s now been one year! I’m immortal in val and I have 65 days played in CoD MW 2019. Man love this mouse the grip the flicks! I also own viper mini wired and viper wireless and they def don’t compare to this mouse!
Hi, The Techne, I think that you think it’s too small because your hands are bigger than the mouse xD. But if you have small hands then I think you WILL love this mouse. No hate to you Techne but great video overall. P.S To the people hating, PEOPLE HAVE OPINIONS AND DIFFERENT SIZED HANDS!

Just received mine from Amazon today and the build quality is surprisingly solid with my copy. No rattle, and the button wobble is much less noticeable than my model o-. The only issue I had with it was that it slightly tilts up when I'm palm gripping it, but I've decided to just claw it.
Guys, this mice has a common problem with his fragile paracord cable, so try not to tight the cable so much into the mouse bungee if you use it along with the mice to avoid the disconnecting problem I'm having...
Thanks for the honest review, I'm not convinced this will reflect the actual mouse when I buy it, but at least I've been warned :) I'm just currently waiting for the white version to release.
and dude this mouse is still a Revolution of Leightweight and Performance. I use it over 10 Month in Hardcore Gaming and i never need another mouse =) best mouse i ever used ;)
I don't understand why do you do the press test on mise meant for fingertip, or any mouse, you aren't supposed to squeeze the mouse if you brake your mouse because it's "weak" it's, it's ALL YOUR FAULT, that's like complining about the gas mileage of you car while hooning around and going balls to the wall at every stop light. What about xm1 endgame? Had dm1 fps - rattle scrollwheel, gloriouse model o - cable died after 7 days. I love sensei shape and cannot decide what i should buy
Great shape, cord, and decent skates but the worst buttons I’ve ever used and the main clicks have way too much side movement, literally the worst I’ve ever had if you thought the model o was bad this is far worse
My mm710 had the creaking of the right-click so I opened up the mouse and put some cable ties in the right spots to fix that but it is heavier now. Guess I'll swap this mouse for some sort of wireless mouse for Christmas haha. I hate the wire too.
This is a silly video. Youre not reviewing the mouse, youre reviewing the consistency of the company because this seems to be a faulty product. Thats fine but clickbating the video saying its the worst lightweight mouse ever when it just isnt (i have one and it has served me very well and it is very good quality) is just annoying as it gives people incorrect info from my experience and others. The only issue that i agree with is how the main buttons are quite wiggly but thats something most mice have and hardly affects gameplay.

Dude. I was really looking to buy this one because my country has an official distributor and I can get this for 40$. I really trust your reviews and might just go for the glorious model o for 60$ instead.
I wanna trash talk this video, but it's very honest. You are obviously a fan of cooler master as you sent them an email, and it shows integrity to call a compay's mouse "garbage".
The Techne I also just received a copy of this, and oddly, I didn't notice much of the problems you had. There was little to no pre and post travel, and the l and r clicks didn't wiggle. It seemed closer to the 711 video you have. If I were you I wouldn't review it again. This is a very bad move that cooler master made. They released the mouse before it was ready to be launched and fixed it after many people spent money.
It seems like the newer models/copies are a lot better. I am getting mine in less than a week so I will update. Hopefully it doesn't have all these problems. If it does, I'll just send it back and get a refund.
rgb add just a couple grams and it would make the mouse look that much cooler, and at the end of the day when your gaming a difference for 5 grams will have no effect on your gameplay and you won't be able to tell any difference. it would make the mouse a lot more appealing to customers and they would sell a lot more. great video though!
To anyone considering this mouse, don't be scared away by this video. This is the best mouse I have ever used hands down. I have no issues as mentioned in the video. I use a mix between claw and fingertip grip.

You got a bad copy, like others are saying. My mouse is from the new batch and doesn't have any vertical flex on the left and right mouse buttons or any creaking. You should get a replacement from Cooler Master support
they should have stopped shipment, and recalled all units that were in circulation, I had this pre ordered for months, and never once received an email notifying me about this! shame on CM

This looks like a mouse made for a 10 year old it’s so small LOL. I do understand how it may appeal to some though. I’ve heard they have fixed some of the issues, but still, definitely not for me. Happy to hear your rocking the Xtrfy M4 and letting people know how good it is. It’s an absolutely fantastic mouse and I love my Retro. I continue to carefully break the cord in and it gets better and better by the day. And Thanks Techne for the tip about the skate glide around the sensor on the M4. It definitely made the mouse feel noticeably smoother and quicker, not that there was anything wrong without it. Now it kinda feels like air hockey but better and I had to turn the DPI down to a lower setting. Super silky smooth awesomeness 👍🏻
this was a retail copy, I didn't get this for review. this thing should not be for sale like this. yeah that middle skate is silky smooth, lol! I can't get enough of this M4. I wish they made an all red one, or a red and black one, ewwwwwwwwwwww!!

I got probably the best batch so far it has none of the build quality issues accept when u squeeze extremely hard on the side it click the side button other then that it’s virtually perfect
Of course the mouse will lose some sturdiness by being so light, although him squeezing the mouse like an ape isn't a realistic idea of how you actaully use the mouse. Between the time this video was uploaded and now Cooler Master improved the quality of the MM710 and MM711 too. I have experienced none of the issues that were shown in this video.
youre the only one who has called this mouse that bad, is obviously your unit. Zy Rocket Jump prefers this mouse over the Ultra light 2 so that says alot. Just saying

It feels like junk, because it is junk. The lightweight craze has allowed companies to cheap out on plastics. Not saying I don't use them, I use a ul2 and O-... But after trying multiple mm710s, cooler master went too cheap on materials and took too many QC shortcuts. I do reccomend the MP510 mousepad though, hooray for not cheaping out on mousepad production. Kek
The Techne actually I thought mine didn’t but after watching I went check and my left AND right click both creek. They both also push back and the back lifts up as well as my scroll wheel moving left and right. The shape also doesn’t fit me, so I went to my local Best Buy and got the viper mini and MY GOSH does t make the world of a difference! It actually fits the way I grip the mouse and feels more quality for a cheaper price. You were right in your review, at least for the copy I have. I agreed with everything you said. Thanks 😊
ur pressing down on the mouse way to hard u should never grip a mouse that hard it should just lay in your hand without actually pressing and then these big holes feel just like all the other mice
Im not a coolermaster fan but I have got one and 2 of My frie d have got ones and No problem with them My copy is only 15 days old one of My friends is from october last year No problems i think if you want buy a new copy and try to see if that one has the problems

Compared my mm710 mouse with the problems you had, and I luckily don’t have the same problems! This will be my main mouse now!

I checked your channel and apparently you play overwatch, so is this a problem to shoot Hanzos' arrows with post-travel this mouse has? If you have a mouse with 3360/3366 sensor, do you feel the difference compared to 3389, is it more responsive etc? Sorry for so many questions, I am not able to return it, if I will buy this mouse, since I live out of EU and US
@@РабиН-х1р mine kinda moves like how his does if I click close the scroll wheel, however clicking normally it does not bulge like his. I've had no issue with hanzo as my mouse doesn't have much post travel. I can't feel any difference between the 3389 and a 3360/66 because they're so close. My aims felt better but thats probably more because of the shape than the sensor.

Hey man, watched a fair few of your reviews, just want to say I think you have a few misconceptions on grip type. No hate just something i picked up on after watching a dozen or so of your reviews.
Update 7 months later with MM711 : Right click bottom-out still feels sticky/cracking , LMB too but a bit less , scroll wheel does move side to side (and stays wherever you push it) but way less , buttons still "wobble" backward and forward. No creaking besides LMB/RMB , no side buttons activation when squeezing , a little bit of bottom plate flex , no side buttons pre travel and tiny bit post travel like most mice. LMB/RMB pre travel little to none , post travel way too much. As for the holes , im about to return mine because just like you , the holes are causing discomfort on my pinky.
if you like the small size, try the viper mini
@@TheTechne I do like smaller sized mice , but i just shared my 2 cents about the MM series 7 months later and how barely anything changed. Thank you for the recommendation but the Mini looks way too narrow.
Nice review, appreciate the honesty and detail, but saw a CM rep say on reddit that the pre-production batches got mixed with the newer batches in the amazon warehouse. The post-production models should fix the wobbling, creaking,side flex and the rattle.

I got one from bestbuy. Glossy Black. No issues whatsoever. I know for a fact the early ones were HORRIBLE. Even BadSeedTech talked about it.

Bought this mouse in September 2020. It’s now been one year! I’m immortal in val and I have 65 days played in CoD MW 2019. Man love this mouse the grip the flicks! I also own viper mini wired and viper wireless and they def don’t compare to this mouse!

The Techne I’m excited
Just received mine from Amazon today and the build quality is surprisingly solid with my copy. No rattle, and the button wobble is much less noticeable than my model o-. The only issue I had with it was that it slightly tilts up when I'm palm gripping it, but I've decided to just claw it.
Guys, this mice has a common problem with his fragile paracord cable, so try not to tight the cable so much into the mouse bungee if you use it along with the mice to avoid the disconnecting problem I'm having...

This is mouse n1 at the moment. Cooler master fixed this mouse and this mouse now is so so fire for it's price. No wobble and reinforced side.

I don't understand why do you do the press test on mise meant for fingertip, or any mouse, you aren't supposed to squeeze the mouse if you brake your mouse because it's "weak" it's, it's ALL YOUR FAULT, that's like complining about the gas mileage of you car while hooning around and going balls to the wall at every stop light. You should hold your mouse lightly, I wanna see you write nicely in cursive while squeezing the pen as hard as u can

Great shape, cord, and decent skates but the worst buttons I’ve ever used and the main clicks have way too much side movement, literally the worst I’ve ever had if you thought the model o was bad this is far worse
My cooler master had all of those issues fixed.

My mm710 had the creaking of the right-click so I opened up the mouse and put some cable ties in the right spots to fix that but it is heavier now. Guess I'll swap this mouse for some sort of wireless mouse for Christmas haha. I hate the wire too.
This is a silly video. Youre not reviewing the mouse, youre reviewing the consistency of the company because this seems to be a faulty product. Thats fine but clickbating the video saying its the worst lightweight mouse ever when it just isnt (i have one and it has served me very well and it is very good quality) is just annoying as it gives people incorrect info from my experience and others. The only issue that i agree with is how the main buttons are quite wiggly but thats something most mice have and hardly affects gameplay.

The Techne I also just received a copy of this, and oddly, I didn't notice much of the problems you had. There was little to no pre and post travel, and the l and r clicks didn't wiggle. It seemed closer to the 711 video you have. If I were you I wouldn't review it again. This is a very bad move that cooler master made. They released the mouse before it was ready to be launched and fixed it after many people spent money.

It seems like the newer models/copies are a lot better. I am getting mine in less than a week so I will update. Hopefully it doesn't have all these problems. If it does, I'll just send it back and get a refund.
rgb add just a couple grams and it would make the mouse look that much cooler, and at the end of the day when your gaming a difference for 5 grams will have no effect on your gameplay and you won't be able to tell any difference. it would make the mouse a lot more appealing to customers and they would sell a lot more. great video though!

You got a bad copy, like others are saying. My mouse is from the new batch and doesn't have any vertical flex on the left and right mouse buttons or any creaking. You should get a replacement from Cooler Master support
they should have stopped shipment, and recalled all units that were in circulation, I had this pre ordered for months, and never once received an email notifying me about this! shame on CM

This looks like a mouse made for a 10 year old it’s so small LOL. I do understand how it may appeal to some though. I’ve heard they have fixed some of the issues, but still, definitely not for me. Happy to hear your rocking the Xtrfy M4 and letting people know how good it is. It’s an absolutely fantastic mouse and I love my Retro. I continue to carefully break the cord in and it gets better and better by the day. And Thanks Techne for the tip about the skate glide around the sensor on the M4. It definitely made the mouse feel noticeably smoother and quicker, not that there was anything wrong without it. Now it kinda feels like air hockey but better and I had to turn the DPI down to a lower setting. Super silky smooth awesomeness 👍🏻

I got probably the best batch so far it has none of the build quality issues accept when u squeeze extremely hard on the side it click the side button other then that it’s virtually perfect

Of course the mouse will lose some sturdiness by being so light, although him squeezing the mouse like an ape isn't a realistic idea of how you actaully use the mouse. Between the time this video was uploaded and now Cooler Master improved the quality of the MM710 and MM711 too. I have experienced none of the issues that were shown in this video.

It feels like junk, because it is junk. The lightweight craze has allowed companies to cheap out on plastics. Not saying I don't use them, I use a ul2 and O-... But after trying multiple mm710s, cooler master went too cheap on materials and took too many QC shortcuts. I do reccomend the MP510 mousepad though, hooray for not cheaping out on mousepad production. Kek

The Techne actually I thought mine didn’t but after watching I went check and my left AND right click both creek. They both also push back and the back lifts up as well as my scroll wheel moving left and right. The shape also doesn’t fit me, so I went to my local Best Buy and got the viper mini and MY GOSH does t make the world of a difference! It actually fits the way I grip the mouse and feels more quality for a cheaper price. You were right in your review, at least for the copy I have. I agreed with everything you said. Thanks 😊
