14:59 I think you need to buy them in your region to ensure they can adapt. There's many reasons a hives dies off. Leave your hive empty. I have seen empty hives colonized by local bees. There's a lot to learn. Move your hive box somewhere in the shade and protected from wind. Soon they will come
So when I was having a problem with my chamomile growing, I found a book called the victory Garden. They suggested to put a piece of burlap over the top of the garden for at least the first month and a half that the seeds are germinating and developing. it allows light, moisture and wind through but protects it from the burning sun and animals. Once the seeds got to a certain height, I took the burlap off and I had a beautiful batch of flowers this year. Maybe this will help. I used a loose weave burlap. I got at Bomgaars or tractor supply. Hope this helps.
So sorry to hear what happened to your hive 😢 Been following ya channel for a few months, thanks for being so inspirational ❤ my garden is finally starting to produce, turns out, my soil was very acidic, so a had to treated it first.
My peppers suffered the most this year. I planted them way too close (like 5 a row in a 4x8 bed, lol) and the plants stayed super small. I plan to only grow 2 plants of each variety in each row. I saw another guy who was litteraly sitting UNDER his pepper plants...like a tree. He had them in huge grow bags spaced like 4 ft apart. Fertilizer every time he watered. I was like...DAYYYYUUM! lol
my plans i have a very small space a few raized beds i always get lots greens kales ,brocoli cabagge this year cauliflower too but i have trouble with cucumbers, pumpkins, anything fruit other tomatoes i always get so many , i really hope i do better .i was just watching your fruit trees i learn something ❤
Thank you for all of the lovely, informative and reading videos you have given us this year. ❤ Just wondering if the Garden Girls Podcast is coming back in 2025? I just love it!!
I respect bees and have some little bee baths around the garden but I’m not brave enough to take on caring for a hive. I heard they are difficult to move because they could swarm. I had a bee bath staked in one of my raised beds. When I needed to harvest and reset I moved the bath for a day and I swear the regulars appeared to be panicking. My biggest failure was luffa. I started them indoors in March. By July I still didn’t have a single bud. I had read other people in my region had this happen and flowers produced very late in the fall and never had time to fully mature. I removed them since they were taking up prime real estate. My biggest success was garlic. I grew mostly Chesnok Red and way too much 😂. I knew it wouldn’t keep so I gave a lot of it away. My husband’s coworkers raved over the size of them!
@ actually…later in the year I found out through a Facebook garden group that someone in my city, (Chicago), had a successful luffa harvest. I might try again sometime.
Yes toads! I get very excited when I spot one in the garden. Creating habitat that encourages more toads to come and stay is great.
They're so helpful for pest control!

Thank you for sharing about your bees, it is helpful to people like me who would like to own them someday. I hope your procedure went well today ❤
Thanks so much, I’m glad it was helpful! Glad to be home recovering 🙌💚
Keep up the good work and good luck with surgery! Love the content!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it!

That's a great tip, thanks for sharing! I’ll admit I’m more of the “chuck it everywhere and hope for the best” type 😅

I'm glad to hear your garden is doing well, that soil issue can be a pain!

Thank you so much! Yes, the Garden Girls Podcast will be back in 2025! Just taking a little break while Meg and I deal with our health stuff 😊
Thanks Dagne! All the best for this too. You got this!!!
Also, my original comment, the word “reading” was meant to be “relaxing” ❤

Ah this is why I haven’t tried luffa yet 😢 it seems so high maintenance. But it’s on my list for next year because I really want my own sponges!
