The handle was perfection. Congratulations on a great job.
Elliot, I found you and Jobman through searching for retriever-related podcasts. The quality of the podcasts and your videos is excellent. Great work with G on this test and exceptional video!
Thank you so much!! Spread the word!
Congratulations to you both. Steep learning curve over last few videos. Handler has developed as well as the pupil. Loved that slight adjust while swimming on the last water blind and the way she maintained the corrected linwe on emerging. Great work. .
@ 11:45 is so clean!
Congratulations
Congratulations! You make a great team.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Not seen anyone give the points of reference that you gave here!! Very helpful to us who are going through the same process
Glad it was helpful!
I only watched first series... But very good dog work. Everyone says my dog could do that... But its alot harder than it looks. Great job thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Your decision and reasoning to handle her was correct IMO. The handling was flawless, which helps. Ultimately you have to have confidence that she remembers that last mark, or that she gets close enough to the area of the fall that she only has a small hunt. But that last mark had SOOOO much less going on around it, unlike the 2nd mark where you handled her. Nicely done sir! Congrats on the title!
I agree 100%. That was my thinking. I was so proud of how she handled on that mark. It’s not that easy to get a dog to go right into the water line that instead of running the bank
I was not surprised when you handled her on the second mark. I believe you made the right decision for sure. Congratulations to Georgie and you again; great accomplishment!
Thank you!
Congrats!
Great job. My dog would get off line and go right to the blind and get into tight of war with the bird boy.
Congratulations.
Smart handle on the second water mark. Been in a similar situation a few times first tried to let the dog work it out and it didnt work out second time quick handle and finish the test. Cant wait to see you progress and start hopefully running some AKC Master Test.
Thank you! We will be moving to Master Tests next spring.
Glad to see Georgie pull it off.
I was planning on training my lab puppy myself and trying to get her Junior titled just to say that I did it myself, but unfortunately for me she passed at only 4.5 months old last week. She was run over by my grandpa driving the RTV and she came behind him while he was in reverse. Never knew she was back there. It will be a while before I get another Lab.
I am so sorry!! How awful! So so sorry
Great job Elliot
Congrats and nice work both dog and handler!
No one walks in your boots as a handler and no one knows their dog like you do. If you saw that as a trap, you did exactly as you should have for your dog’s success! Not that it matters, I’d have done the same. Never good when your dog gets around the gunners bucket of birds!
Again congratulations!
Nice job 👍🏻
You had a well thought out plan going into the test and good reasoning to handle when you did.
Thank you!
Great job getting the ribbon. The handle was slightly late but the dog took the cast really well! Need work on obedience, I thought Georgie was going to break a few times. All in all, great job
Ok thanks!
Nice job🙌
Thank you! 😊
A quick handle is better than an extended hunt any day. No extra credit for saving the handle. Well done.
Thank you so much! I honestly was hoping to make it all the way through finished with no fails and no handles but I think I made the right choice.
Good work, all these videos have been great.
Glad you like them!
@@FreelanceDuckHunting Good work on the podcast also!!
Great video congratulations Georgie looking forward to seeing Georgie this hunting season 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks! Won’t be long
Congratulations! I would’ve done the same and handled. Better to do that than lose them behind the gun. Hope to see you guys in the Grand someday.
Good Job Elliot and Georgie, congratulations!! Handling was a good call in this scenario. Thoughts that come to mind are could you have went marks 3-2-1? Without knowing wind direction could you have lined her right of mark 1 to keep Georgie away from the throwers. I am just throwing out some thoughts,
Tough call. In your situation handling her was probably the right call. This is her title run so I take the handle. With a more experienced dog I would have wanted to see their reaction. The wind appeared to be in her favor. I would like to see the dog check down and as you work toward bigger stakes learning how your dog handles this situation will be very valuable. Dogs miss marks it’s part of the game. Great dogs work themselves out of trouble. Nice work!
Great input…thank you
@@FreelanceDuckHunting soon we will see you at the Grand
@@chrisrud260 I don’t know how long it will take for me to feel like we’re ready. But that’s the goal.
I WOULD DONE SAME THING YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF HER AND YOUR SELF I Trained Bo all with hand signel
I was actually thinking to myself on the second mark, I would have handled before the dog hit the shoreline. Unless the wind was going to help you, I would have stopped the dog and handled to keep the dog swimming down the shore. You had the other fall, the gunner station and the shoreline all sucking the dog that way. I don’t want to say “train” but I would have stopped the dog and used it as a training scenario to keep the dog wet.
Imo opinion it’s easier to keep the dog wet then in is to get the dog back into the water.
Great following your progress, adding the wind direction on your diagrams would help
Smashing content
Great idea about the wind direction!
I prefer a fast quick handle over a long hunt. Not sure there is a right or wrong answer, it worked! Next time it might not. Congrats on the title!
Thanks for the input. I was so nervous about her getting all entangled in those guns
I liked the decision to handle. In Finished you can handle on one of the 6 marks. You have to run a clean triple either land or water. You had a handle to burn and i think it was a good time to do so. Only one question where is the title swim at?
Haha, there was no swim
Yeah I would of done the same thing. You didn’t wanna waste time and degrade her memory for the last mark. I would work on her chomping tho
That chomping thing is definitely an issue I’ve been fighting forever! I can make her stop with ecollar nics but then I get sloppy and stop being consistent.
Do not let Barry Lyons near your dog.
Who is Barry Lyons?
Nice video, nice run. 👍
Glad you enjoyed
