I'm so glad Lisa X has a full band project. I've been watching her videos for years, and she's just an amazing musician and seems so genuine in interviews.
I only found out about this video today. I played it three times before posting a comment, then played it again. As well as the wonderful playing and singing, how a shoutout for the beautifully shot video.
I still just can't get over this song. I've had it on repeat for DAYS now... Like the first time I heard Band-Maid... I feel like we are seeing the start of something special.
Lisa-x actually wrote this tune as well. Glad to see you react to her band, can't wait until she graduates and goes into music full time. Enjoyed the reaction wave, see ya on discord.
Thank you for finally getting to this band. They're my new favorite band. If they add Mina on bass and Kanade Sato on drums they'll literally cause an explosion of insane talent and kawaii goodness that will take over the world. I haven't been this excited about a band since Babymetal.
Li-sa-X turned 17 on Feb 8*, after this video was uploaded. I agree about the sound - kinda like "Adult Contemporary Metal" ;) and the song is really beautiful. The vocal melody really soars on the wings of Rina's voice. Wish they would publish the credits as I'd also like to know who's singing the harmony (Hazuki, maybe?) as much as anything. * same bday as Saiki Atsumi
Not adult contemporary metal. This is at it's heart, a freaking 'country' song. Power metal country. As soon as I heard the verses going into the chorus, my mouth dropped and I said 'this a country song!' She may not sound country but the melody and the key changes and powerful up lifting anthem part in the chorus is such a staple of modern country music.
Li-Sa-X, one of my favorites. I always say I want to see her and YOYOKA in a band together. Many comments on her channel about the vocals in this one. Rina almost sounds like an American Country Singer.
The full article you looked up: "Li-sa-X BAND sees the fifteen-year-old child prodigy join forces with fellow guitarist Hazuki - of Disqualia and NEMOPHILA fame - and singer Rina. The trio's debut double A-side single One More Chance Is Enough / Just Be My Treasure will be released at the end of March. One More Chance Is Enough will feature guest appearances by veteran bassist Billy Sheehan and former B'z session drummer Shane Gaalaas. The same duo previously guested on Rina's 2019 solo single We Could Be Great." I was wondering how long it would take for you to realize that was Hazuki. I recognized the guitar instantly, without that, I'm not sure if I would have made the connection. Kind of makes me curious to listen to Disqualia now.
I like the voice I like the gorgeous guitars. Love that this is a powerful girl group from Nippon. As always a knowledge reaction with comments that enlighten us and heighten the enjoyment of our listening experience! This is one thing you are perfectly inplace to do! Videographer and musician and recording expertise are combined in one fun and respectful reactor!
What a mature songwriting and arrangement at her age😀 Vocalist is also superb, fits perfectly for their songs. Billy Sheehan played bass for their previous song.Could not find any credits for the bass or drums in this song. I am assuming they were digitally programmed.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu Yeah Shane lives in Japan now and he is a fucking stud! If I remember the bass player is some Japanese studio stud. Name also escapes me
Imagine, April 1, 2023 and the best rhythm section in the Universe is doing a side gig with Lisa-X Band, with Kanamincho composing, Po! These progressions are ala, Hillsong. I just went to church, Po!
She's so awesome. This is a great song. So you haven't heard any of her album WILL? it's so good ..she even has a song with yoyo from China. Lisa is signed to Sony for a reason. She's amazing.
The Lisa-x Band takes up the tradition of fusion music of the late seventies (as an example I mention "UK" with the legends Bill Bruford on drums and Alan Holdsworth on guitar with the song "In the Dead of Night" ua-cam.com/video/74GBPl2FaK0/v-deo.html) and has created an extremely listenable piece of music. Personally, I like their debut single "One more Chance is enough" even better, because there the influences from that time are even more concise for my ear. As Fred Light already remarked, the drummer is Canadian born Shane Gaalaas, who is an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and songwriter and has collaborated with great musicians.
Actually, you know what.... this video was more candid and quite interesting compared to your regular videos. Yes, I actually love watching you struggle with figuring out which musician, or which band, etc. Muahahahaha!. Seriously, me thinks you're actually doing great! Anyone wishes to back me or contest me on this, let me know 😉
Li-sa-x song is a very mature song from a young girl. If you want Marty Friedman (Megadeth) did a very interesting piece with Lisa when she was around 12 - ua-cam.com/video/EnrXIu6xCHY/v-deo.html
It’s spelled HALCA, but it’s pronounced HAL-KA, which is a closer approximation of the pronunciation of はるか (“haruka” in Romaji) than Ha-RU-ka. That is, I assume that’s why she spells her name that way.
Thank you for excellent reaction. Please try "Onmyo-za" (band name), "Seiten no Tsuki" (The title of song). ua-cam.com/video/fcVSDmJmJfU/v-deo.html This one (Japanese band) is also very cool + beautiful.
I have the answer to your question "how is she so good at 17 years old", and Lisa will tell you herself ua-cam.com/video/eqnJpXmt_jU/v-deo.html (really, watch that video, you'll understand)
That’s a cool way to look at it! Funny that “band” is in the name. 😂 But I love that there is so much cross artist collaboration in the Japanese music scene.
@@WavePotter Agreed. A lot of respect and trust in each other as musicians there. I don't get a sense of them being overly competitive with each other to a point where it becomes catty and overt. Very supportive of one another.
⛵⚓Aaarrrrr! Did you see BAND-MAID on the Aftershock tour? $150 for the cheapest 1 day ticket. I thought I saw that you have to pay extra to get into the park, too ( not sure on that, can't find it anymore ). I'm only 2h away and don't want pay that much for a 30m BAND-MAID set. Couple of the other bands would be cool to see, but......
Yeah... it would be a pretty expensive show combined with flight or road trip from Wisconsin. Not sure if we can swing it, but I’m hoping the b-m us tour happens first!
Um . . . is it a tour or a four day festival? Also, Jinjer and Nemophila are playing on day two and BAND-MAID and The Warning are both playing on day four. That's all the interest I have in the undercard, and the headliners don't do a ton for me either.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu Aftershock is a 4 day festival. You can pick and choose what days you want to see, though. Cheapest 1 day tickets are $150 with charges. There are weekend and 4 day packages, too. To see the bands you want to see, you'd have to buy 2, 1 day passes, or a 4 day pass, I believe.

Li-sa-X started playing since she was little. her dad is also a guitarist.
Lisa-x actually wrote this tune as well. Glad to see you react to her band, can't wait until she graduates and goes into music full time. Enjoyed the reaction wave, see ya on discord.
Li-sa-X is another true prodigy.
Good reaction. Not just her guitar skills. She wrote this song. Wow.

Perfect way to top off Lisa's band.
