This song is from when I was really, really young. I enjoyed it. It was before the British invasion and so it was a softer time.

Tango Eliott it is so beautiful, the way things and time have changed hmm I sometimes wish things were like they were in my grandparents days those times I remember where the best times ever when we had very little and hardly any of these technology stuff.

@@akagenie502 But then I never would have met you and I would have missed someone special. I do believe my childhood was great, being outdoors all day, playing with friends, riding bikes, inventing games, exploring, etc. I grew up in a beach community so the boardwalk and games and ocean were fun. But life evolves and as I age (rapidly) I find comfort in the realization that I can talk to people from around the world; share ideas; listen to good music; and if I a lucky, make contact with people who can share their stories with me as I do mine with them. So I appreciate when you do songs I love from 50's 60's 70's and 80s, and I am honored to share a few minutes with you and all your
      followers. Thanks

Tango Eliott aww awesome! Awesome stuff. You give me more hope in humanity! Thank you so much. Sometimes when I look at the world today I feel so sad, broken, confused! For awhile (few years) I felt like we were making a uturn and just maybe things would get better, people would care more, live as one and technology would slow down but 2020 prove me wrong!!! Never seen so much evil & confusion in my life but like you I have met some good people from all backgrounds which gives me hope to hang on in there but I’m worried for my kids. So grateful to have encountered with such good people like yourself. I can truly say I love my channel as I have make some really nice people on here! Though not in person it still feels good 🌹🙏🏽🙏🏻

Tango Eliott you had the best childhood, I had similar even though my parents were very poor and I loved half the time with my grandparents but you know what I wouldn’t change it. We lived by a river in the Caribbean, could be out anytime even though bedtime was 7pm. I remember walking the woods with my cousins and friends just been kids looking for fruits and going for a swim in the river. Oh lord those were the best days of my life apart from having my kids. No phones, no internet, creating our own games and making our own toys because even though back then toys weren’t plenty, they were expensive so I never had a toy but we make our own as kids. When my grandparents passed it took me a long time to accept they were gone.... as I write this tears filled my eyes, I missed them so much... thank you...

Tango Eliott forgot to mention... while the internet is good in so many ways, it’s shame so many use it to do bad things :(

The older woman was the lead singers mom who wanted to convince her daughter to attend college instead of pursuing singing as a career. Mom had no idea her daughter was so good and blown away that her child could sing so beautifully. Her daughter chose to attend college for the experience.

This song reached #1 on the Hot 100 chart in 1961....... this lady was talented, played in 3 elvis movies...... this video clip was her series, the Donna Reed show (now airing on the MeTV channel today)........ she played in the 1970s sitcom “One Day At a Time”......... and stared in the Big Hit tv show, Coach in the 90s, also on MeTV......
Finally look at the contrast of how people conducted themselves back then,,, how polite, Well dressed, and positive the acting, music and society was expected to be.....
Now compare that to the poison music and behavior that has control of our country now

sc su thank you & yes couldn’t agree more, wanted to say exactly that but last time I compare the music to back now and now I had a few people have a go at me even though I stare it’s my personal opinion and I never meant to offend anyone with anything I say or do it is just how I feel. Thank you 🌹

That's Shelley Fabares. Her last name is pronounced as Fa --bray. She co-starred in three Elvis Presley movies. Do you remember about a month ago when you played "My Dad"? That was from a segment of a tv series starring Donna Reed. This clip was from the same show.
This was a classic song from the early 1960s.

Hi Genie. Just got back from a week camping in the wilderness. No internet, no phone, no nothing. It was great. I'll have to play catch-up on your reactions. You know I remember this from when the show was on TV. Guess that makes me a bit of a dinosaur but a nice one. I have to admit I still watch TV from this era a lot. I just find it easy to relax with. Things were kept so simple back then. It's a shame media forces kids to grow up so fast today. But anyway thanks for the reaction. It will be interesting to see what kind of views you'll get with this. Maybe seach tags would help.

Flatwoodsdad aww nice one. I sometimes wish I could just get away from it all too. I think technology has taken away so much of our time and so true the impact of it all. The good old days are surely missed. Glad you had some time to chill out as my son would say, it’s needed. Cheers my friend. Aww I’m not sure about this tag thing, I sometimes add hashtag some of my videos in the description but does it work I’m not sure... but I’m just enjoying this journey and at my happiest when others enjoy the videos not too fuss about millions of views although it would be nice right 😁 but as you know I don’t have a lot of time due to family life but I’m so trying..... appreciate you 🌹

Thanks for not just reacting to the same 20 oldies most other reactors do. This was a clip from the situation comedy, "The Donna Reed Show." Donna Reed played the mother. The daughter was played by Shelley Fabares (pronounced "fabray") and she actually had this on the rock charts as a single.

It is interesting to note that some of the greatest appeal of this recording has to be attributed to the wonderful background vocal accompaniment performed by Darlene Love and The Blossoms, a Black group. You will notice that, on the TV show, when the song is being introduced, The Blossoms have been replaced with three White girls who are lip syncing behind Shelley. Unfortunately, Shelley, as attractive and sweet as she was, didn't have much of a voice or too much vocal range. Thankfully, The Blossoms do most of the heavy vocal lifting in this recording to make Shelley sound better than she normally would have.
