It's late December 1998 on the cobbles, and Jack and Vera have received an invitation to spend the festive period with their grandson, Tommy. This drew the ire of Alec Gilroy, who needed the Duckworths to work their shifts, however, he was soon to happily wave them on their way when he saw an opportunity to evict them in their absence. Alec's 'companion', Rita, caught wind of this skullduggery and tipped off Jack and Vera who rushed back to the pub and barricaded them into the upstairs flat, thus beginning the Siege of the Rovers that would run to New Year's Eve.
Along the way, Alec's granddaughter would return with a business proposition, barmaid Natalie would find some use from the proceeds of her own house sale, a relationship would come to an end, and a legend of the show would say his last goodbye to The Street.
Not covered in this compilation is the arrival of Judy Mallett's twins. You're welcome.

Met Bill and Liz in person as they actually came to my school one year, Bollin Cross, Style, Cheshire. It May have still been called Style Resedential School at the time , and later it became Bollin Cross school. It was basically a special school. Bill used to take a group of kids out every year, along with some other black cab drivers, as Bill drove one of the cabs that took us kids out every year to the likes of Blackpool and Southport. It was great. All the black cabs were decorated with different coloured balloons and the like and the slogan on the cabs was " Convey Of Happiness ". Such happy days !! 🙂 🎉🎉🎉🎈🎈🎈🙂🙂🎊🎊🎉🎈🎈🎈

Bill Tarmy and Liz Dawn came to our school one year, Bollin Cross, Style, Cheshire. Iinfact, i think Bill came more than once. He was on of the cab drivers that drove a black taxi and they took the kids out on day trips every year to the likes of Blackpool and Southport. All the black cabs were decorated with coloured balloons and had the slogan " Convey Of Happiness " on the cabs. Perhaps you were one of these cab drivers that took us kids out? If so, please feel free to post a reply. Perhaps you have some old photos lying about from those happy days? 🤔 🎊🎊🎈🎈🎈🎈🎊🎊🎉🎈🙂😊

What year was this? I’m guessing it was after Lisa’s death ( because Vera talks about going to see Tommy and his grandparents- and because the Battersbys are in it).
