It used to be relatively easy in the day, not sure how it is today. Do you know anyone on the railway that could help you get access? If not then perhaps contact a Suoervisor of your nearest Locomotive Depot.
Roland you will see I was very lucky to get lots of cab rides mainly ECMT and Kinleith bch in the 90s by a friendly LE. Similar era to your vids which I presume were 8mm vidcams. I had some visits to family in Pnth in the early 2000s so got a few shots around here, then after many years in Walton and Matamata we came back to Palmy 2014 I think it was and most my HD stuff was early on around MM and then over here in Palmy. Hope you enjoy some of my amateur efforts. My big interest in rail has always be sound. Cheers Mike
@@MikeRail Hi while I had done a tiny bit of 8mm cine it was all silent. After 2004 I was using a 1.2 megapixel Sony Handycam using Digital Tape. I have not bothered going into HD. I'm more into gaming nowadays, I hardly leave my lounge, except to the letterbox or a bus or taxi to the chemist, doctor or Dentist. But yesterday I went with a friend to Nelson to a movie.
Thanks for the info Roland. I really enjoyed all your historical photos around Pnth in your younger days also. If you use email can you grab mine off the end of my HD vids and flick me a message, would like to contact you if possible. Cheers and stay safe.
Love the content, envious to be able to ride in the cab.
