Hello ,
I would like to ask , lets imagine a site now uses only one language and all its url structure is without /en but getting the site multilingual later will the /en be necessary so all the url age will be lost , or could the urls remain the same and ad an /gr for example into the other languages?
You can keep them the same, just mark it correctly with the hreflang tags
thanks for the tips. just wanna ask, which one better example.com/article-title-author-name or example.com/article/title/author/name?
You usually do not put an author name in the URL. Usually it is best just to do this example.com/article-title
Article-title makes zero sense lol
The answer is a little more complex Than answered. To start with each segment in the URL need to land on some content. For example, what would I expect to see if I removed name from the end of the URL? Would there be a list of authors? Or would there be a page not found? Each segment needs to be navigable, article, title, author, name. If there ilia no grouped content or landing page for each segment then rethink your content strategy. The URL should be meaningful and say something like a sentence.
You may have an author in the URL for example the experience might be the author of an article is a navigable link to the authors page were a brief about the author might display along with a list of articles that author has written. It all comes down to the content strategy and how semantic your content is.
