maybe have 1 quint tiller ladder to run with an engine say 3 on engine and 3 on Ladder as a Light force.. tillers have tons of space and Quints are generally setup pump and tank on the Cab leaving tons of space for rescue and truck company gear
Unfortunately using a quint as your first due requires thinking ahead. Engines are required to carry a certain amount of hose (both handlines and supply lines). I don't know if their new Tower-1 carries a hoseload that meets engine standards. Some of the hose bed area may have been used for equipment stowage,
Vehicles aren't really the problem. The problem is they have more vehicles than they have crews. Even with standard manning of four firefighters for a ladder (five would be better). Bare minimum staffing would be 12 more firefighters just to put one ladder truck in active service. I think they have three ladder trucks so 40 firefighters would only get those trucks manned. That still leaves the Heavy Rescue unmanned.
They could probably replace the entire fleet for the cost of 40 guys. I’m guessing RCID doesn’t really care. I mean the only residents are Disney employees are are speed to live in the district. If they sport a backbone, they’ll be unemployed and homeless. As usual, people care little about the services they have where they live, let alone where they vacation.
With the Skyliner apparatus and the new Squad-2, RCID spent about 2 million dollars last year. Squad-2 is their hazardous materials unit. For the Skyliner, they purchased a Tower Ladder, a 174' commercial bucket truck, 2- self propelled 60' scissor lift platforms and a rescue barge over at Art of Animation. I think I read that they had budgeted for the Tower Ladder and the Hazmat Truck but not the others. I wonder if that's why they are really industrial apparatus modified for FD use because they were technically bought as Skyliner maintenance equipment. The construction crews were using the barge long before the Skyliner opened. Because of their set-up, RCID can move budget items around at will.
RIP Bob. I still watch these Reedy Creek videos all the time

And by the way Denver FD runs 2 heavy rescues now.
Rumper’s work well too...Tandem axle pumper/rescue with lots of storage for tech rescue.
Seems like the Quint concept would work well for them.

The only way this will change is if someone looses their life because they have to get another vehicle
Sadly that's probably going to be the case
