Finally someone to answer George Jones question, "who's gonna sing the opry, or the Wabash cannonball." He hasn't got to the Grand ole opry.....yet....
the fact that this only has 1.7k likes is insane. Colter really knows how to squeeze a little more out of classic songs and he kills it with this song and his arrangement of it. His covers of John Prines songs are the same -i love John Prine, but in my opinion Colter elevated the songs with his magical guitar playing and obviously that voice. Colter is so damn good.
I wish all the songs with Colter that W.B and liljackfilms are putting out would someday be on spotify . Such good vibes from these . The un edited sound it's just brilliant , such emotion . It's just has a different tone to it when nothing has been done to the audio , applies also for live sessions . ''Here's to W.B , may his name forever stand , To be honored and respected '' . YEZZIR , Can't stop but feel this music through my soul . If y'all haven't subscribed to him you're missing out .
man im still trying to play this like he does! i’ve been playing since i was 6 and im 48 now and my fingers just don’t want to pick like that. i get close but it’s just off a bit. drives me crazy how he does so much and still be in the same cord!
I tell people the same thing when describing his playing (which i also cant get my fingers to do even after 20 years of playing) -he lets his picking hand float, without resting his pinky down so he can pick with all 5 fingers -couple that with the travis picking and the guy sounds like 2 guys playing guitar -not to mention all the flourishes and walkups/ downs he is constantly doing with the other hand. Got me picking up my guitar a lot more thats for sure.
@@sethparry589 Colter almost always employs travis picking in his songs.. this one in particular is in drop D tuning and starts by him hammering onto a D chord, while travis picking the E string and D.
I first heard him on Pandora, and was taken by surprise when I saw such a thin young looking guy. It's like he's channeling a voice of someone from generation's back.
You can hear CW smile when he sings traveling home to dingus and I'll forever love that
It's contagious, too.
I guess I gotta keep coming back here till this is on spotify🤷🏻♂️🤠
Same
Back once again as well
Right! About a thousand of these views are from me
Same here haha
Ok karen

He also.did the red headed stranger.
Hope he stays away from the Oort, I love Tennessee but I hate Nashville
Colter's about to join a legendary bunch !
Hank Sr. isn’t a member, that’s all you need to know about the “Grand” ole opry
@@JoeSmith-dl9ok that's a good point

Istill remember the first time i listened to colter wall simg. I thought it was an older man with many many years under his belt

If y’all like this you should look up Steve Earle talking about this song
This song is so awesome I've listened to it a thousand times and to think that there is less than 600 like is absurd
i liked it before hearing him sing .i just knew it was going to be amazing
Ole Hank in the background approves.
