The moment I found a PS Classic for less than $20 at a thrift store, I immediately got it modded with this and I love it all so far!

I bought mine from Best Buy for $15 six months after its release.
Help? PlayStation classic mini. Copied files to new flash drive(microsd) and loads files but control doesn’t allow me to pull up retroarch menu(save/close...). Old flash drive I can press start+select on controller, but new flash drive doesn’t work.

Note for anyone STILL having this problem, it worked in reverse for me. I got that error after formatting the drive to exFAT ahead of time, and fixed it by formatting the drive to NFTS. This was after re-formatting it to exFAT twice, NTFS fixed it for whatever reason contrary to what is said in the video.
So try both.
Just want to say thanks for the most detail guide, compare to other videos I have seen yours by far the most straight forward. Now my kids can enjoy playing emulation on it.
Hi, i don't no exactly why but at 5:07 when i turn on the PS Classic with my usb i don't go to the eris menu for the first time. I follow your explanation and repeat a few time the procedure but nothing (i use a philips usb 2.0 Snow that is ok according to you and your link below) do you have any ideas ? Thanks
One of the FIRST things I did to my PSPC is to short the resisters on the board to ground, disabling the current limitations on the front USB ports. Anyone attempting this will need a soldering iron, the process takes seconds. After this, you can use USB 3.0 drives in the port without any issues.
Found a PS Classic at a dollar store awhile back discounted to $25 brand new. It was fun to mess with for awhile but now it just sets on a shelf looking pretty 😎

I can confirm keeping a backup of Project Eris on the PC is a lifesaver. I was messing with settings trying to fix some missing text for a game I was playing and I ended up messing everything up to where Project Eris would no longer boot. I thought I was going to have to start over and lose my saves but I was able to copy the files over easily that were missing and get it working again. Made it so much easier

Nice to see you covering this, however I highly recommend Autobleem. The most recent version has OTG support as well as Bluetooth and Wifi. The best feature to me is the much better interface. A new version of Autobleem is about to release soon. I used to use Project ERIS but I switched over when Autobleem had the same features.
I prefer the stock GUI, I might switch over if using it were an option...
@@JohnnyProctor9 it is. In one of the Autobleem options you can switch from Evolution UI (Autobleem) to Legacy UI (Sony PS Classic).
@@blainelocklair same here. Switched over to Autobleem when I couldn't get my WiFi adapter to work.
@@davidgill7412 - Well switching over from a 2A power supply to a 2.4A power supply entirely fixed the load time issue that I was having with Project Eris. Now I'm unsure whether I want to bother switching over to AutoBleem or not, since I'm still having issues getting 3DO and arcade games to play on Project Eris and I have yet to find a ScummVM core compatible with it. Any advice about switching from Project Eris or BleemSync over to AutoBleem? Is it safe and easy to do? Are the controls for DOSBox, and 3DO and arcade emulators easy to set up for it and does it have a working, up-to-date ScummVM core available for it?

The only part that I didn't get is were are these rom files and were can I get them from since there are none in the games files and I don't have any installed on my pc?

Nice videos like always. Once my brother and I tried to mod his ps one classic and the tutorial was not helpful and we never got to mod it. But with this it will help I would try it out soon

When you get the error in Guiformat simply close all windows and try again. The error occurs because file explorer is open and the usb is classed as in use.

Yea that's thing (i'm late here) they got you over a barrel with out the Bio's.

I'm sorry to ask this but... this only works with the USB flash drive connected to the console? Is there a way of having this installed on the system or always I have to have the flash drive connected?
After modded you can use an otg cable on the back. It'll free up your front ports.
I love your channel. Question: Does this method works as well using an iMac computer? Because I see you need to format the USB drive on NFTS and Mac cannot format in that mode natively.

Funny enough, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was one of the games found in the PlayStation Classic source code. I bought one of those myself so I could mod it.
The system files that are .rom i can not find them anywhere... please help.

Project Eris is a buggy mess that crashes all the time. I uninstalled it and went back to *Autobleem* .
Much more satisfied with Autobleem's performance. Now my PS Classic hardly ever freezes or crashes. But with Project Eris it was constantly crashing when switching games or apps. Autobleem is just more stable. and that does matter.

Based on the vid, I see that you use the 2nd USB port for most of the file copying. Once the classic is modded, can you use the splitter cable that you recommended in the NES & SNES classic vid? Or is the only way for roms to be seen have to be in the 2nd USB port?

I have a question when I installed Eris, I have my USB in my 2nd port but when I turn on my classic it loads up into the normal menu, but after a few moments it boots into eris. is this normal or did I do something wrong?

Why is it when I add the BIN and CUE files to the 'Transfer' folder Project Eris fails to load. Yet, when I keep them in folders and move them into 'Transfer' it works in RetroArch but they do not show on the Project Eris carousel?

The tutorial is absolutely phenomenal, but my only question would be why would you add symphony of the night when symphony of the night comes standard on the PSC?

I did every step, but when i copy the .bin and .cue files into the transfer file and then put the usb into the ps1 it doesn't start. the console shows a red light and it turns off. What can i do? please help me :(

Hey great tutorial, Having the WEIRDEST issue, i feel like this is one of those things that only happens to me. So i did everything up to the final NTFS transfer and it went perfectly, my ps classic boots up with the eris menus and all.
However, when I plug the usb back to my laptop to add games/ bios, the USB drive goes into an infinite loading loop and ultimately cannot open the drive in my pc. Again, it runs perfectly on the PSC itself, but now is inaccessible, and unable to format on my laptop... makes zero sense, would love some help.
Any advice on using a wired PS1 or PS2 controller on the PSC?
Is there any technical benefit in getting classic over just straight up emulating on pc?
My usb has an extra folder called System Volume Information, could that be affecting my initial installation? I can’t delete it or move it out of my drive.

To answer your questions:
1. Yes, you can save your progress. Normally through the virtual Memory Card and from resume point (save state) when you exit the emulator or press reset.
2. You can use rewind if you run your games through RetroArch. Both Project ERIS and Autobleem give you the option to do this.
3. I can't officially recommend a site, but if you Google a "archive" I'm sure you will find what you are looking for.
If i want to change the USB Stick, can i just copy and paste everything over if i format the new USB to the right format?
are the games running in normal speed like they used to be, when you mod the ps classic with ERIS?
What about games with multiple bin files Luke Ridge racer Type 4, do you move all them over, or do you have to merge all the files into one.
Whenever i try booting into the project eris kernel copy thing, it just boots into the normal software, plz help.

I bought SanDisk 64 GB Ultra Fit CZ430 3.1 Mini Nano Flash which is on the list and my mini doesnt seem to want to recognize it. I have the right files on there exactly shown in video steps.
