Indeed, as a Greek political scientist, I find you to be by far the best channel, and I believe others feel the same way. Full understanding of analyzes and methodical conclusions. Congratulations.
He describes power of two levels: Empirical and theoretical. Empirical comprises three types: sovereign, disciplinary and bio power. In theoretical power, he illustrates the features, characteristics of power and its operation. Force relation is spread throughout the society and can only be seen in interplay.
I liked the presentation, especially when the presenter took the time to explain some of the basic concepts. I wish all concepts mentioned here were explained this way. Still, I found this presentation much better than many other available on the UA-cam.
This was really helpful - thank you! Could you perhaps make a video elaborating on HOW the Marxist theory of ideology and Freudian psychoanalysis have created the concept of the "de-centered" subject that Foucault later writes about?
In a nutshell, Foucault identifies three kinds of power.... 1. Disciplinary 2. Bio and 3. Discursive. Sovereign power or Coercive power is a primitive form of power according to him. Am I clear?
this more of a "lecture notes", Diego. if we put sources/citations like writing a scholarly paper, it would take us ages to complete the video lecture. thanks though
Foucault bets against the good and engages in evil to look like an anti rebel. He is a student of Camus no doubt and faithful to all Camus may have condemned.
Hi Ahsan, I haven't made any video lecture on Asian philosophy. I focus more on Western philosophy at the moment. But I will make video lectures on Asian philosophy in the future. Thanks.
You could have done better. The tossing of vague jargon is distracting. The best way to make your video effective is to make read or viewed by a person who is not of your discipline but is interested in the subject you are discussing. Or follow Steven Pinker's lectures and writings to make your presentation more transparent and lucid. I understood what you conveyed here but I would have put it in a more limpid and clear way. The first paragraph by which you started your video says "Foucault agrees with the critique of "the subject" provided by Marxist ideology and Freud which involved "the subject" not as the centre of discussion but it is taken as a peripheral element." See how clear and distinct and coherent it sounds. And you could have saved some time to enrich your content rather than explaining the same thing using phrases like "in other words", or "that is."

Thank you, Jessica. Cheers!

Nice keep it up❤️☺️
Sure, Jessica. Cheers!
Descartes had no such view as "the Cogito shapes reality." You have to go to Kant for something close to that.
Excellent, but you should cite your work. It would make it easier for the audience to find what you are quoting.

I quit three sentences in. I'd rather listen to a human who says "um" here and there than to a bot that drones on and on.
