It can actually be beneficial to be in the British sphere once you are fairly industrialized. Yeah it kills your tariffs but you get access to 25% of the world’s resources and half a quarter billion of customers to sell to. It can be super beneficial with the right prep.
The reason that one state in Argentina is called Mesopotamia is because Mesopotamia translates to “between 2 rivers”. Originally, it was used to describe the ancient societies that existed between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, but in Argentina it describes a province whose boundaries are between the Uruguayan and Parana river.

Some geographers (mostly French in origin I believe) use the term Megapotamia both to avoid confusion with the more commonly known Asian Mesopotamia and due to the larger size of the Uruguay and Paraná rivers in comparison to the Tigris and Euphrates.
'Lusitania' is probably meant as a name for the 'the nation of the Lusophones (Portuguese-speaking nations)'

Your transitions are getting better nice work :) also the "no more war" modifier happens to all nations involved in a great war where a dismantlement is applied. As a new world nation I'd recommend just declining all those calls to war, instead soaking in the crazy immigration from late game war torn countries

The reason you have to wait until the Slavery Debate to remove slavery is because Brazil was the last Western country to ban slavery, even after the United States (though in practice, they had been manumitting their slaves en masse for a pretty long while, so even though slavery was legal until 1880, 75% of blacks in Brazil were freemen anyway by the time it was abolished). Funny story, some rich Confederate plantation owners emigrated to Brazil after the American Civil War. Their descendants are still called _confederados_ though they've long since assimilated into society.

The reason you couldnt industrialize, or have pops convert to craftsmen, is because they need 30% literacy to have any significant chance of promoting to craftsmen. Bureaucrats would’ve helped get people to promote to clergy faster for more literacy, and then later they would’ve helped people promote to craftsmen.

13:34 Old video, but a good one! As a Portuguese I can confirm our literacy rate was very very low at the time historically (the lowest in Western Europe, I believe) so it made perfect sense it your literacy rate didn't increase after uniting Portugal and Brazil 😂

Actually we were colonized in the 1500s, and the Portuguese knew about the lands since before Colombus, but they started making reconnaissance of the land more frequently right before colonizing, between 1498-1500.
There is no conclusive evidence that the Portuguese knew of Brazil before Columbus.
I believe the itty tippy sticky out bit in the NE had a Portuguese colony almost straight after the Spanish bumped into and set up shop in the Caribbean, but Brazil is so big it took centuries for Portugal to spread out
You know the reason the US wasn't doing anything to CSA is because they lost all of their cores so they can't annex them nor assimilate their culture. In 14:58 you can see that the only core there is the one from the CSA, and the reason that I know about this is because in my last game this happened to me too and when i looked it up the US didn't have any cores in the CSA so in the end the US just put the CSA in it's sphere.

Brazilian-Portuguese invasion of Tampa isn't too outlandish considering how Florida was founded and held by Spain for 300 years
Most debts in south america and central america were due to bankrupcy and the warmoney needed to fund the regional wars over borderregions since the region had no industry prior to ww1 since it solely imported and exported goods to create products not make their own products. Importsubstition model was attempted in the region by the regional powers but that failed and caused even more debts. Likewise that governments failing to govern well and keep economy afloat also generated many debts and caused the lost decade. Also at least brazil unlike central america never was invaded for enforcing debt payment unlike nations like haiti or mexico. Fun history lesson.

That one southern state you conquered was actually a land of traitors who tried to leave the empire and form a republic. Of course, they failed an are now, nothing but a brazilian state.
Uruguai was also once a brazilian province, but they succeeded with argentinian help, so yeah, just reclaiming what is ours lolololol

you know what your problem is? you confuse real world politics with the game , and thats the worst mistake you can make with grand strategy games.when you play a nation , you roleplay as his leader at the time. If you play russians, you play as communist, if you play as germany you play fascist etc. if you arent willing to do that, play a different nation. We all know slavery is bad morally and in game too cause its useless pops but you my friend mentioned it like 10 times in 1 minute... relax... play the game...
I think that you and I have a different perspective of what grand strategy games are for. I do attempt to do some realistic things but I’m also trying to be effective with my gameplay. I try to balance good gameplay with historical precedents to make different and unique content.
