I blinded this twice with my C922 batch and it won both times. Maybe I'm in the minority, but whatever! I'm lucky to have been able to score both. Easily some of my favorite bourbons--and like you did at the end, might as well blend them! So great
JC: I hope you know how amazing of a job you are doing. I'm sure some days are harder than others but I hope this might motivate you through the hard times. I truly look forward to your videos and especially Wednesday night every week. I'm busy like most Dad's; working as a HS teacher during the day and taking care of kids when I get home, but when I put them down to sleep and tune in to you on Wednesday it brings me so much joy. kind of takes me away from the daily grind of life. I know you are working hard behind the scenes and it is much appreciated. Thank you again for all that you are doing for the bourbon/whiskey community. 🥃 👏
Could never find C922 here in FL so I have no comparison but I just tried the neck pour of A123...and I found it pretty damn amazing. Can't wait to let it age and air a little.
You've definitely helped me hone in my ability to pick up notes on the nose and pallette. Have done side-by-sides with some of your reviews as I drink. Thank you!
Great review! Thank you for putting it together. Over the weekend I was searching for Larceny A123. Came across C922 instead. Can't say that I came away disappointed.
What timing, I had just done a neck pour of my A123 when I saw this so I nosed and tasted with you. I agree with your notes and with your C922 comparison. Leaning toward C922 at the moment, but I don’t trust neck pours and I bet A123 will be a hitter with air, so will wait a few weeks to blind them.
So good.....still think I got my hands on this by mistake since I had it before Christmas...cracked it on new years...gonna be hunting the b and c for sure...
Loved the C922. First Larceny barrel proof I picked up. Just got the A123 for $60. Have not opened yet but looking forward to it. If this is as good as the C bottle I'm in on each release moving forward.
Living in Pennsylvania and can only get the Larceny Barrel Proof via mail. Just got it today, however I got the B522. Never had the Barrel Proof before. Hopefully I'll like. I'm going to order another now.
I sipped along with you, Jason, for this review. I already had the Larceny '22's and I came home today with the A123 so I could sip along. I agreed with your tasting notes. Lately I've made a hobby of doing my own blends of my pretty extensive collection and with your conclusions here I'm going to jump up and make a 50/50 blend of C922 and A123. We already know it's going to be delicious! Thanks Jason! EDIT: Okay, I made 6 ounces of a 50/50 blend and holy cow is it delicious! Try it. . . .
Thank you for the review. For me the C922 was definitely superior to B522 (and I did like the B522). I have not yet had the opportunity to try the A123 but am looking forward to it!
Great review. I picked up the Larceny BP C922 a few weeks ago, but the A123 has not hit my area yet. I have looked in 2 neighboring states and they have not received either. Hope to get it soon.
Recommendation. A M&D series where you blind JD, EC, Larceny, and maybe a random 4th/5th BP every AB,C release. You as well as the audience majority enjoy the barrel proof range and I see this as a solid episode to look forward to. Thoughts?
Jason try blending Larceny A123 with ECBP A123. Pretty damn good. I think I prefer it over just the Larceny but the ECBP A123 on its own is better than the blend IMO
Sounds pretty good. Butterscotch notes = yes please. C922 is just a steamroller of a bourbon. Tough to live up to that batch, especially for $60. That's the first Larceny I ever bought a backup for the bunker. So - up next is "guess the Paradiddle" game. First song is Meshuggah "bleed" right?!?!
I loved C921 but did not care for C922 at all. I didn’t like the sourness it had but just from reading the comments I’m wondering if I got a bad bottle 😔
Could you clarify or add another catagory for 'Buy...at MSRP'. I only ever see Larceny BP on secondary around here and I don't like the regular Larceny enough to drop 100 on it.
I don't see how the Larceny doesn't blow away the EC a123. I have both and the Ec is very lack luster in flavor, the larceny is a flavor bomb in comparison.
@@TheMashandDrum cool, looking forward to seeing your review. I first try the regular one but my wife got me the Wes Henderson Kentucky Straight Special Edition for Christmas.
@@TheMashandDrum I could definitely see that for sure. I usually dig the older stuff as well. I had the same thing happen with calumet 15 and 16. I liked the 15 way more.
C922 was the first Larceny BP I purchased. After getting it home and tasting I went back and bought another bottle. This is from someone that generally doesn't care for wheated bourbons.
That musky wheater note is not appreciated. I’ve gotten over it to some degree, but wheaters def aren’t my fav bc of it. The makers stave series does a great job of hiding it.
Can you finally just own up to paying more for something instead of retail and seeming like somebody who is pretentious and will only pay retail for it? I love your reviews and everything, but nobody is finding it for 60 bucks. If we went by what you would actually pay for it, nobody would have bourbon in their house.

Wow man. Comments like this certainly keep me going and motivated. Can't wait to see ya on Wednesdays. Thanks for the kind words. Cheers.
I picked up an A123 last weekend. I will be buying as many of these as I can. It was soooo delicious.
Great review as always. I will definitely pick this up when I see it. I just recently got the Larceny C922, so it may be a while yet. Cheers.
As a die hard Chief’s fan, my celebratory pour was a store pick old forester single barrel. Friggin amazing!!

Finally found a bottle of this in Michigan while at meijer shopping for a vacuum! Looking forward to trying it. Still searching for some leftover C922

Brother, what a great review! Definitely pleased that you compared it to the C922 since it got so much praise.
Just saw about 10 bottles, i will go get one now! Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the review! Just got my hands on this bottle last week gonna blind it with A122. Cheers

Good review, thanks. I like sweet, butterscotch, and caramel. Going to find this one.
Thanks for the review. Great job!
Dude B523 is pretty damn good. Hope you’re able to snag one soon. I got one today & it’s a buy and back it up.
Can't wait to find one
@@TheMashandDrum I’m sure it’s gonna be in your market within the next week or so.
Digging the comparison.
Hard to beat this for a $60 barrel proof.
Thank you.
I picked this one up today at MSRP. Had to buy a standard Larceny to get it. I haven't cracked my C922 yet but it kicks the shit out of B522.
I picked up 2 of these. I love Larceny small batch. Especially the price.
Great review. I picked up the Larceny BP C922 a few weeks ago, but the A123 has not hit my area yet. I have looked in 2 neighboring states and they have not received either. Hope to get it soon.
I was able to get brt-02 Markers and this A123 reminds me of that on the nose 👃
Waiting for A123 haven’t seen it yet. The C922 is great.
Just sipped on this tonight. It is absolutely amazing and quite possibly my favorite. 🤔
B522 was stellar as well

I bought it, and backed it up, cheers!
I have a few bottles of the A123 but can’t remember if there are any C122 at the house.
Great view!! Did you ever compare Elijah Craig C922 and the new A123?
Hoping this happens in an upcoming live show!
I picked up the A123 and I enjoyed I. As I was drinking it, I thought it could get me in trouble. It definitely doesn't drink like 125 proof
Agree
Jason try blending Larceny A123 with ECBP A123. Pretty damn good. I think I prefer it over just the Larceny but the ECBP A123 on its own is better than the blend IMO
He made a video on this 😮
Can't wait to try it.

Another spot on review! The C922 definitely has an older profile. Cheers Jason and Keep rocking 🥃
Also had to play back to check that mash bill😋
Been waiting for this one!
I loved C921 but did not care for C922 at all. I didn’t like the sourness it had but just from reading the comments I’m wondering if I got a bad bottle 😔
Had to play it back to make sure I heard you right. The SUPER wheater! :)
"Mash bill 68% wheat, 20% corn, 12 malted barley"
I wonder how ECBP and Larceny BP would mix together.
Bought it, loved it
Could you clarify or add another catagory for 'Buy...at MSRP'. I only ever see Larceny BP on secondary around here and I don't like the regular Larceny enough to drop 100 on it.
I prefer the paradiddlediddle A123
And I just passed this up last week because of past Larceny BP…
I smashed the like button at 101 each week. I think you should call that person the Turkey 🥃🥃🥃
I don't see how the Larceny doesn't blow away the EC a123. I have both and the Ec is very lack luster in flavor, the larceny is a flavor bomb in comparison.
Rebel picks have gone up in price (all of the Lux Row Heaven Hill sourced bourbons have had their MSRPs gone up)
I know you were looking out for the consumer, but I have paid $70-$80 for this bourbon and it has been just fine
I think you switched the corn and wheat in the mash bill.
I did in the description but the graphic is correct
Have you ever try or have plans to review Blackened Bourbon?
Thanks
Yeah I can do that.
@@TheMashandDrum cool, looking forward to seeing your review.
I first try the regular one but my wife got me the Wes Henderson Kentucky Straight Special Edition for Christmas.
I have been able to grab both of these. I agree, C922 was better. I get this toasted note that I really like from it. A123 is good, just not as good.
Try blending A122 and B522 and put that against C922. No Joke!
I didn’t request it … but nice paradiddle 🤣
I see that @SinceApparel shirt!! AJ3s FTW!! PS: solid review!
Yep. #sneakerhead
It’s wonky here, I don’t know when I will see it, but damn this c922 is good
Brt-02 🆚 A123
I can’t wait to see how this bottle opens up with time…
And?
Came for the review, stayed for the paradiddles
Nose was great on this one, fell flat on tha palate for me sadly.
How much wheat is in that Mashbill again??? 🤔
Its correct in the graphic...
@@TheMashandDrum that’s what happens when your listening and trying to do other things as well! Thank you! 👍🏾 😂
The A123 crushes C922
Saw it in Total Wine a cpl hours ago. Reviews said it drank hot so I passed.
It does drink a bit hot
The A123 was super hot for me. I love the C922 but the A123 didn't do it for me
@TheMashAndDrum_ How do I text you to claim my prize?
$100… Fortunately, we can get it at MSRP here.
I dont know what's up with me or not but I though b522 killed c922
Dude. B522 is really good too. I think C922 comes off a bit older which is what folks gravitated to.
@@TheMashandDrum I could definitely see that for sure. I usually dig the older stuff as well. I had the same thing happen with calumet 15 and 16. I liked the 15 way more.

Please Bruh - Don't give secondary bottle price recommendations, it's a dirt bag's game. This stuff is worth it's MSRP and let's leave it at that.
