Bernheim BP, Larceny BP, Makers Mark CS, and Weller 107/Full Proof flight fight?
How does the Bernheim compare to the 9 year MPG Old Elk wheat whiskey I love that juice.
I would be interested in comparing with the PH 11 year Wheat. Same mashbill , 3 less proof points and 2-3 years younger.
Great review, Chad and Sara! Finally ran into one of these and like it, don’t love it but it’s a welcome pour when I am in the mood for wheat whiskey 🥃🥃😊
Tried this (well, a smaller batch version) last week during the Heaven Hill “You Do Bourbon” tasting experience. Was surprised by how much it changes with water added. Our guide/host recommended adding water to wheat whiskeys as it brings out the spice notes, and he was not wrong. Surprised I was a fan of this style, but had to pass on bottling this … in favour of the Select Stock 14 year-old wheat whiskey, mostly cause I’m likely not going back to HH for awhile.
Car-a-Mel

Any way you want
I tired the Bernheim Barrel proof at the distillery on the Bottle your own experience and loved it but couldn't buy it because they said there was no bottles...Definitely looking for this on the shelf
Really excited to try this. The one I bottled at the distillery in September was 125 proof and one of the best whiskeys I had all year.
this tastes nothing like a worthers original
You're right. We're right. There's no wrong answers in whiskey. :)
Just got a bottle and let it sit opened for a couple days. I get cinnamon rolls. Bready, vanilla frosting, cinnamon and cloves.
I dont have enough experience with this category the only wheat whiskey I have is the Woodford Wheat and that is awful this sounds way better
Picked this up today. Was told it would likely be allocated soon. Gonna pop it tomorrow.
I believe they said in the press release that it would be twice a year offset from the ECBP/LBP releases
Heaven Hill send every youtube channel a bottle?
Loved the update today. It's not usually something I would try, but I will give it a shot. I liked the notes that you identified on the nose.
I enjoyed the one bottle of Bernheim wheat whiskey that I've had. I'd love to try this stuff. 🥃
Getting this on Thursday, I guess i'll see. Thanks for the video.
I was like “I just tried that two weeks ago!” Alas, it was the regular 7yo. 😒
I, too, have converted from a lifetime of saying “carmel” to now saying “caramel”.
sounds like a strong pass to me, especially at 65... thanks homies!
Wheat whiskeys are so different than a wheated bourbon
Bernheim wheat is a good after work whiskey. Do 2 shots head to the shower. Fast easy drinking gotta go
I’d pick that up.
Looks Interesting if I can find it
It would be really hard for me to buy this bottle. I didn't care for the normal on the shelf Bernheim. Higher proof doesn't always equal better whiskey. Definitely not a buy at double the price. That being said, I would try it if someone offered it to me.
Car-a-mel with emphasis on the a in the middle is the correct way to say the word, it has 3 syllables and is the product of melting or “caramelising’ sugar. It’s become more common in America to say the word without the emphasis on the a in the middle. Such making the pronunciation Carmel which would in-fact be incorrect. However the English language and the American English languages are different in the way that they are written and spoken. And most reasonable people will know what someone is talking about when they either say caramel or Carmel. That’s my piece on the topic. Loved the video!
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
👍🏻🥃
You guys fighting over how to say "caramel" is like the people outside of KY fighting over how to say "Louisville" lololol
Car-Mel
Kar-a-Mel
Anyone else learn English??…😅😅😅
Just picked this up.
Sweet on the front and Savory on the back.
I think the contrasting flavors and the buttery mouthfeel are a welcome offering from Heaven Hill who have been killing it the last 12 months!
Sara, tell the naysayers to take a flying leap off the rocks by the Lone Cypress into the Pacific. Car-mel (emphasis on "car") is a dessert flavor. Car-mel (emphasis on "mel") is a bougie city in NorCal. 😁👍 And, I've been meaning to expand my horizons the try wheat whiskey, as I am an equal opportunity whisk(e)y consumer.
I hear the sex is always a bit more spicy after these S&S reviews.
I have the lower proof, not a fan.
Care a mel is the candy, Car Mal is the flavoring or sauce.
