Wake up Ryobi! 9000+ people viewed this trying to find out how to work the useless hose reel. The included instructions begin with: remove hose from hose reel. Right! It wasn't on the hose reel. Why? Because it doesn't fit!
It took me a solid 30 min to figure out how to set this up when i first bought it because of this step. Couldn’t figure out the reel for the life of me. Glad I wasn’t the only one 😂
Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
Thank you! This is a better way to store the damn hose. No I didn’t read the instruction manual. This guy video should be the manual for the hose reeling.
Ryobi needs to engineer this hose reel where the customer do not have to remove the connection at the reel all the time to use the reel. What a waste of time dicsonnecting and reconnecting. And to all you people that needed this video to figure this out, may god be with you!!!
This is helpful. When I tried to set mine up, It was nearly impossible to get the hose on the reel, and then the hose kinked, so it was useless. I had to call the company to get a replacement hose, which, fortunately, they said they will send. The directions that came in the box are terrible, and so are the pictures. Now, when I get the new hose, I will know what to do. Thanks.
I saw your video quite informative. I just bought a commowner with the same issue and returned it due to that. It should never have came with a reel as is a pain in the butt to roll up
It took me an honest 10 seconds to figure out the hose reel, but then again 20 years in the USAF as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist and tinkering with stuff since I was 10 years old may have helped.
Glad to see this is a common problem! I bought a Bauer brand washer that is basically the same design. I thought the roll thing would be great! until I realized it sucked, hehe. I think I'll take advice of your comments here and try to bungi cord it around the handle, that sounds like an easier solution and will keep the tight coils looser. Thanks for this video (and thus the comments)!
Your video helps a lot but the roll is still useless. I found it's easier to loosely roll it around the lower sides of the handle. It trains the line to be less coiled and it only takes a few seconds to unravel and you can keep everything connected.
Thanks for the video man, looked it up to see if I was the only one who felt it wasn't possible unless I took it apart like you did. So stupid. I just use a bungee to hold a few loops to the handle. Easy to remove and doesn't let the hose get to "coily".
My bro just gave me his old washer. His hose has some kinks and I will order a new one. Any suggestions? But this hose reel is a bad design. What are all those hose clamp lugs on each end for? You really can't leave the house out to connect to the pump and wind it up. Seems like the engineers if there are any at Ryobi just took a stock hosereel from some other existing design
Why don't you just leave the main connector that is attached to the unit connected and then all you do is disconnect 1 part (the wand), attach the wand end to the reel and wind up.. Seems that you are doing 1 extra step..
This system is cumbersome and doesn't fit well. Piss poor design to be blunt on Ryobi. I expect this from Chinese made products but not from this brand. The video was nice and thank you
This is not how this is supposed to be done. There are several things wrong with this including the hose needs to be drained or it gets nasty, the pump should never have water left in it, and this is a sloppy job rolling this hose.
That is a bad design who wants to turn around and disconnect the wand and the holes from the pressure washer every single time you use it and I am not going to go buy quick disconnects I will use the handle.

I KNEW someone would have posted this here. One of the last reasons to love youtube. thank you
Man I feel dumb that I had to go on youtube to figure that out. lol

When they say it's a video for everything my guy u saved my life!!!!
Thank you! After sitting in the garage and wheeling over the hose because I couldn’t figure it out finally save me agrivation🙏🏼

Thanks for the helpful hints and teaching. It's truly appreciate. Made my day easier. Peace!!

Thank goodness I am not alone!! Thanks for the video, very helpful, though I think I'll just skip the reel tbh.
Thanks, bud! I was 2 or 3 minutes away from driving my car over a cliff.
I've been hassling with the hose since I bought the damned thing... Thanks!

Then why were you here watching this video??
I couldn’t figure out how to do it. Thanks a ton
Lol I love the internet Thanks for the help 😅
Thanks so much for this! I was struggling, but now it's perfect. You rock!
Struggling wasn't the word lmfaoo

Now I know why I don’t use this hose reel🤗
Thanks! This was a much bigger pain in the bumbum than it should of been. Maybe I'm just slow, but dang.
Thankyou! Yes I had to you tube this skill as well!
Thanks! Seemed like they missed the spin connection i thought my boss lost a part at first haha

That is definitely another option!

Exactly the help I needed. Thanks!
Thank you!!!
Thanks so helpful
Thank you for the video, stupid question but what model watch are you wearing? Its beautiful!
Wear24
This was super helpful!! A huge thank you!
If you take the Q.D off the hose to wind it on the reel, it defeats the purpose of having it on don't you think?
Thank you🙏
Bro, Did you try to put the hose end with the Q.D. on the other side of the reel? I did and my Q.D. clears it fine!
Same thing for me just put it on the other side
Thank you sir!
God thank you bruhda 🤙🏽
Came for the water blaster but intrigued by your watch. What is it? It's got great lume.
Wear24
Top off to you sir.
For the quick connects do you need 1 or to packs for one power wash to make everything quick connect?
Just one pack.
@@tightenup1183 whered you get the quick connects? mine didnt come with those?

Thank u bro
thanks!
I used the reel for the power cord 😎 and wrapped the hose on the frame.
Doesn't kink the hose?
Tighten Up It doesn’t kink I leave the hose connected and wrap around the handle frame
What brand and model watch is that ?
Wear24 I believe. The ocean killed it
Are you using a foam cannon with this if so how does it work with one?
A foam cannon works great
Thanks

So another words , there is no easy way to roll it up
Needs a spin connection to make this worthwhile #Ryobi
I'm not the only one.. haha
❤️🇺🇸 Hanging my hose on the wall in the garage so it’s not wound up so tight because it’s a pain in the butt absolutely useless reel‼️
Blow your nose. Thanks for the video.
I found it pretty useless( hose reel) I just wrap it around the side handles much easier to be like that
I just disconnect every thing and rest it over the haldle
This is not how this is supposed to be done. There are several things wrong with this including the hose needs to be drained or it gets nasty, the pump should never have water left in it, and this is a sloppy job rolling this hose.
Thanks for the feedback!
Next time blow your nose before you start filming but good video
Life saver! Useless directions and basically useless hose reel
Ryobi: get your shit together.
Absolutely right. I have moved on and just roll it up and hold it with a quick clamp
witch craft!
That is a bad design who wants to turn around and disconnect the wand and the holes from the pressure washer every single time you use it and I am not going to go buy quick disconnects I will use the handle.
This sniffling is too annoying.
Terrible audio
You might want to read the instruction manual. You are seriously screwed up.
thank you!
