The upkeep of the Rivers, canals and water ways, would help the farmers. Keep them clear and dredged where needed, not letting them get over grown and full of sludge. I see many where they have filled in, then the fields flood.. Good to see Tom standing up for many who have No Voice..
Tom speaks very well and clearly outlines the present situation. Hopefully we will see a break in the weather and the farmers can get into what they do best producing good quality locally produced food.
@@sampowell6240 Not too sure on that Sam, some equipment maybe better and perhaps might be foreign owned. I personally have a lot of time for Tom and his family, they sell perhaps poultry, pork eggs and other locally sourced products which support local farmers and businesses. Tom had a cow stuck in his river one day and blamed the epa for not cleaning it instead of shabby farm fencing which wasn’t good enough. Most farmers don’t have time to go to tv studios far away but then Tom isn’t your typical farmer.
It’s the local politicians that will not do their job and fix the drainage systems and solve the way the water drains through the system so it doesn’t cause the land to flood up with all this rain and ends up destroying the land, THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT AND POLITICIANS WHO NEED TO HELP THE FARMERS .
we need tom to update us on the weather again this month. it's may now i know he let his cows out already but the recent video i saw the ground was still really wet.

It would have been better if he had of quoted his source for that figure. Regardless, he understated the figure and not overstated it. According to the Goverment website it states the following: "In FYE 2022, an average household spent 11.8% of their expenditure on household food and non-alcoholic drink in the UK, while for the lowest 20% of households by equivalised disposable income it was higher at 14.8%." The figures above are for the entire financial year. Perhaps Tom was quoting a typical weekly average. Events such as Christmas, family events, home parties etc. will obviously boost the amount spent on an annual basis, especially as much of the food bought is more expensive or greater in quantity than a weekly average shop. That is the only thing that I can think of.

This weather is the future
I don’t agree that this weather is the future. We have often had exceptional years. There is no indication that this is a trend.
