Thank you dude, I got the calculator. SO far, It's been great but It didn't have one small thing I needed but since I know some python I created a custom calculator script with the small feature I needed. Thank you so much! Also I made my own control scheme which I find very easy to use.
Full hands preset but LEFT and RIGHT turn the camera, F5 is interact and F6 is shoot. Thank you so much for the help!

Does it take the charge of the batteries in a short period of time? they are a little expensive and i dont want to buy a ton just because of the fun and irony of playing doom in a calculator
It's definitely faster than usual usage but it's not terribly bad. I can't give any exact numbers, though

So how do you put the files in the calculator?
Use the USB cable that comes with the calculator to plug it into a computer. Then, drag the files into the root of the calculator. I have a video on this here: ua-cam.com/video/hjDLi_c8IG8/v-deo.html

I have a calc like this and i have doom on it but when i try to run doom it throws an error. File too big or something, cant remember.
What wad file were you using?

I´m hving a problem, my calculator doesn't open doom it stays in the first menu, the load bar doesn´t apeear and i have to reset the calculator. Do you know what can I do?

@@rodrigoadegas2775 Hi, the version of Doom I showcase in this video only works on the fx-CG50. The CG20 that you own is an older model. Try this version instead: www.cemetech.net/downloads/files/755/x755 (use the same WAD file). I have never tested this version, so I don't know if it will work, but it should.

@@rodrigoadegas2775 Try pressing VARS a few times and see if anything changes. If nothing changes, I'm afraid I don't know how to solve the issue, or if it even is solvable.

Hey, I know im kinda late but every time I try to open some kind of game ( doom, snake, etc.) on my calculator (fx-cg50) i just opens a spread sheet or things of this sort, but never actually the game. I dont know what to do because all the tutorials dont have a solution to this.
Are you sure you've definitely downloaded the right files and put them in the right place? Are you definitely launching the games correctly? Can you send the links to the exact games you've tried (replace the "."s with spaces to get past the UA-cam spam filter)?
im getting a file read error when i click play, everything else works, no idea what the problem is
Try redownloading the WAD file and copying it back over to the calculator. It might be worth specifically trying the shareware WAD file if you're not already using it as I know that that file works.
It doesn't work for me. The calulator is telling me to play other WAD
What WAD are you trying to use? Could you try redownloading it and putting it on the calculator again? Does the error message say anything else?

is there anything else you have to do to the file as i have dragged the wad file into the root but it doesn't pop up on my calculator

How are you running an N64 game on a device with 64KB of RAM?
Firstly, this isn't the N64 version of Doom. This is based on the original PC version. The N64 version is a (very popular) port. Secondly, Doom is an old game and does not require powerful hardware. Thirdly, this version of the game is quite cut down. The sound files are all removed, textures are compressed and I only have the first chapter available to play. I'm also skipping every other frame.

In short, no. The calculator has no speakers, although I believe that you might be able to connect a 2.5mm audio cable to play audio through an external device. However, the CGDoom game files have had the sound removed in order to reduce the file size.

I need a calculator for school, I foun one of these for $65 used, should I get it? I can also get it $85 new. If i should get one should i get new or used?
What level of maths will you be studying? It's possible that this would be overkill and you could get away with a cheaper and less powerful calculator. Moreover, check what calculator your school recommends as that will have the features you need for your class and your teacher(s) may only be familiar with certain models. For example, while this calculator is standard in the UK for A level maths to the point that textbooks include instructions specific to it, the US tends to prefer Texas Instruments calculators. This is a great calculator, but you want to make sure it matches the maths you'll be doing. It's even possible that only certain calculators will be allowed in exams (although this calculator does have multiple exam modes so it shouldn't be an issue). If you decide that this is a good calculator for what you're doing, either of those prices sound good to me. I've found that the buttons start to become mushy and the case loses some of its grip with use so getting the calculator new might be better, if you can afford it. I've also lost all of the rubber feat on my calculator so you'd want to check that the used one still has all of those. Also, if you want to put games like Doom on the calculator, you need a link cable so, if you do get it used, make sure it includes that. Ultimately, it's up to you. Depending on how important maths will be to your studies and your future, it might be worth investing the extra $20 to get a new calculator that may last you longer before becoming too worn down to use. If you only need this calculator for a year or two and then you'll never touch it again, the used one would probably be fine.
@@bongo50_ so far just algebra 2, but I'm gonna try to use it till I graduate in about 3 years. Mainly I'm focusing on computer science as well and I think a calculator could also help. I would go for a Texas instruments calculator but I don't know which would be better
@@bongo50_ There's 2 used ones left and 13 new ones left. I'm most likely going to get a used one because it should be in really good shape, just no original packaging, manuals, or cables. I already have a mini USB cable that I can use. "Working condition and very light wear"
@nicktender Are you interested in writing code for your calculator? If so, the fx-CG50 is probably better than any TI calculator as TIs are harder to unlock to allow unrestricted software development. Otherwise, I think something in the TI-84 Plus series would probably suffice for your course. The TI-84 Plus CE Python is the latest model but, if you don't care about programming with Python on your calculator, the slightly older TI-84 Plus CE would probably be cheaper. The TI-84 Plus series is a bit worse than the fx-CG50 so, if you want a more powerful TI calculator, you'd want something from the TI-Nspire series. The TI-Nspire CX II CAS is the newest and most powerful model but is almost certainly completely overkill unless you're going to be studying maths in college and stuff. Ultimately, unless your school specifically recommends a TI calculator, the fx-CG50 is probably better value for money considering the level of maths you'll be studying, but I might be a bit biased.
I've just seen your second comment. That sounds good, especially if you already have a cable. The manual that comes with the calculator is not very useful anyway and the full one is available online from Casio's website.
1:39 whats the difference between all the files?
Each file is a different set of level files for Doom, containing levels for different chapters and even Doom 2. You can, in theory, download any of them and install them in the same way. The problem is that they tend to have very large file sizes and so you will likely run out of storage space on your calculator if you install them. The Shareware file that I used is a more reasonable size.

@@rzsteez3970 yes. Each file contains multiple levels. There is some overlap between which levels are included in each file.

There's a secret in e1m3 where you need to crouch. any idea how to do that on the calc?
Looking at the controls, I can't see anything for crouching. You might be able to use noclip (bound to the --> key) to access the secret if you don't mind cheating slightly.

All of the files should go in the root folder of the calculator. You also need the g3a file for CGDoom which, again, goes in the root folder of the calculator.

@Anonymous-th2cz the root folder is the folder that every other file and folder on the calculator is in. It should have a lot of other files in it, including other g3a files. You'll know you're in the right place if you can see other g3a files.

When you open your calculator's storage on your computer, it's just the first folder that opens

@@bongo50_ I downloaded the sharewear or whatever it was called. Dropped that into the main folder of the calculator. Let it download. Unplugged it and nothing shows up

This depends on which WAD file you download. The one I use in the video has 9 levels. Some have over 20. I recommend cross-referencing with the Doom Wiki, doomwiki.org/wiki/Entryway

Exciting! In the link to the downloads in the video description, you can see the file size. The calculator has 16MB so that's what you've got to work with. There are some programs pre-installed and you will want to leave some storage free. You can check what each WAD file contains and look this up on the Doom Wiki or a similar resource to get an idea of levels and length. The shareware WAD that I use in the video is probably your best bet, though. If you complete it, you can always swap it out for the chapter 2 WAD file, etc.
@@bongo50_I'm thinking about, ultimate doom (36 lvls) or doom (26 lvls) since I'm not thinking on getting anything else except for oiram. Thank you for explaining it. And is the .ext file a emulator because in the description of all of them it says ROM.
How to cheat and write down things on this calculator?
I won't advise you on how to cheat. There are various ways to write things down, but none of them are available in exam mode.
Does it work on every calculator?
You need a CASIO fx-CG50 (or an equivalent international model like the Graph 90+E, or an older model like the fx-CG20 or fx-CG10). It should work on any of these calculators.
