She’s too young to understand & remember but our kids are the same age 6 days apart & i have the same problem i just encourage him to be nice & ignore him when he hits & he’s been stopping more & more. Once she is older about 2 then she will understand more that hitting is bad but you should just ignore her when she hits , babies love getting reactions that’s why they do stuff.

Also my son went through that hitting phase and he got no reaction because they do it for a reaction normally. If it was a pretty hard hit, he would get a slap on his hand. We don’t have any issues with it now though. Every kid is different with what works for their punishment
