Oh, I definitely agree with that! - CoD is just stunning. The final shots are from an early morning mission, with the sun just up, and it felt like flying around in a painting. With the other players we were just raving about how gorgeous it was. Especially with tracers streaming across the sky, flak bursts going off and ships on fire. Beautiful mayhem!
It is because of your excellent videos, that I bought a joystick and throttle last year and installed IL2-CoD. For the same reason I had to patch it yesterday and search for the throttle. Now this video made me go over to ATAG and register there. Your videos are really awesome. Good flying, nice dry humour, perfect editing. Please keep the "voice-bubbles" they make this so much more fun. Your german is actually very good, plus you use some words that sound a little "outdated" Perfect-Thank you.
Been watching il2 vids the last few weeks, this by far with very little fighter on bomber action has to be the best ive seen. the comments throughout and the choice of music were both just absolutely spot on. well done
I can never tell it enough: your videos are simply brilliant. Keep up the cheeky humour, it always keeps me coming back to your channel. :) Cheers from Canada!
Nope just a realist. Great vi as always and as always I sat glued to the screen! You really know how to make them fascinating to watch. I play a bit myself but do not count myself as proficient like you. And thanks for the Spit instructional vid - it helped me a lot.
+Mike Woodhouse Well spotted, I'm very glad you appreciate it. All footage is from an online mission and I used Windows Movie Maker to edit it together (freeware proggie). I also tried to time my take-off to a good moment in Gustav Holst's wonderful "Jupiter"...
Bristol Blenheims were really outmoded at the start of WW2 with two not very efficient engines, inadequate defence (a single 303 machine gun in a dorsal semi-enclosed turret) and a slow top speed. Even the early Bf 109s made mincemeat out of them. Very brave crews flew them with very high loss rates (like the Aalborg raid). Nice HD imagery though and I enjoyed this video greatly. Thank you.
difficult to say something else than " wow" !!! great video, great low altitude attack. the music is part of the show. however, a great tribute to those valorous airmen .....
As soon as I put up the money for a new computer I'll be flying high in Cliffs of Dover. I can't wait. I'll have to check out ATAG. Also, great video as always!
Glad you liked it. The story is just what happened as I flew an online mission one evening. Lots of 'movies' are being played out every day on the ATAG server, but usually there is nobody to record them...
I'm new to your videos but will not be a stranger from now on. It's like watching an updated "Battle of Britain" movie, but many of them, and many many dogfights. Thumbs up!! :-)
Wonderful video, very cool to see you got your mic working :) Loved to see a new Bhenheim video, its one of my favorite planes, I've got to see if my computer will run this game, I want to play it so badly, hope to see more videos soon :)
Hello, friend. The best of all of Your videos for sure. Amazing! Feels very real, drama, history....everything is there. Great job and nice flying. One thing that surprised me, that You were bombing field hospital.:-o I love when You get over France. Scenery is beautiful. Also that brave suppressing attack of one of the Spits. Really...enjoyed every minute.
thanks for the video. i just finished reading a book about the battle of britain, and they actually did this quite alot, even single blenheims going over bombing airfields and townsday and night, even berlin a real morale breaker to the germans.
It is definitely a challenge to keep wings level and the nose on the horizon when looking around. I use trackir which helps a lot because looking around involves actual head movement, while I can keep joystick and mouse steady.
Long ago, I was in the Air Training Corps. Our Commandant flew Blenheims at the outbreak of World War 2 and said the casualty rate was so high that after 18 months only he and one other of the original pilots were still alive. He said one day over the North Sea he was being pursued by two ME110s. He was at full throttle and the only thing that saved him and his crew was being able to retract the gun turret, which gave them another 30 mph. The 110s didn't quite have the speed to catch them.
Great, we can always use more brave Blennie pilots! My older vids are not very technically accomplished, but maybe you'll still find them funny... They are strictly WYSIWYG, cockpit-perspective only, so I think I improved somewhat... Anyway, spread the word, both about my vids and about ATAG and CoD!
When he was being chased by the Me 110s, he said he was right down at wave-top height. The 110s were firing at him from extreme range and he could see their cannon shells hitting the water ahead of him. They gave up when they found they weren't going to catch him. You are right about the pea-shooter. A single .303 Vickers K gun in a manually-operated turret was no match for pretty well anything they were up against.
The ATAG guys who made the mission chose the composition of the target which online is known as "the Panzer Division"... And, yes, they definitely chose a hospital tent.
Sure, several servers are constantly well-visited. Most of them are closed (squadrons) but the ATAG server, where I filmed this, is open. I just met the guys I fly with in the movie because we happened to log in at the same time. Nothing organized in advance, just meeting up and flying a mission together. I think Snarglepuss suggested on Teamspeak that we bomb the Panzer Division and then we were a few guys who joined him. It is really cool to go online and find yourself in a WWII movie! :-)
Very bad briefing then...I presume you didn`t see the red cros markings on the way to the target area. Very, very good and entertaining videos! Keep them coming!.....Fighter battles please!
great film but 82 Sqn flew out of RAF Watton .. the planes that took part in the raid on Aalborg were replacements after the all of the original Blenheims of 82 were were detroyed on a previous raid .. great vid :)
It wasn't my mic but the capture proggie, MSI Afterburner, which only recently was improved so that it can now record several sound sources. Yes, the Blennie is fantastic to fly in CoD, we're having a great time online.I'll only start making movies again after the next Team Fusion patch, where they hopefully deal with a graphical glitch that appears in track recordings. Glad you liked the movie, spread the word! :-)
Why not consider a better program with some money. I used to use freeware iMovie for Mac, but since I built my own windows I had to find something else. It really makes it easier and faster. You are a great inspiration for me, one of the reason why I started uploading videos as well. Im planning to get il-2 cod. I hope I can fly with you an your wingman someday ^^
Hi! James Holland, Battle of Britian Five Months That Changed History. One of the better books i have read. First half is about the battle of france. Alot of diary input from pilots so you get a feeling of how it realy was. And how hard it was physically and mentally to fly in this battle
Es el 'world war II radio plugin' hecho por ATAG_Colander que se puede bajar siendo inscribido en los forums de ATAG, lo que es gratuito. Es un plugin para Teamspeak y funciona como pura magía... :-)
Yeah, sorry about the wait... - The main problem is actually that there is a glitch with the track files in CoD that makes it pretty damn' impossible to make movies at the moment... Any gun or cannon hits make big weird puffs of smoke on the target. - Team Fusion (the modders) are working on fixing it, though.
Great vids. Thank you very much for sharing with us. I´d like to ask you if the Spit was yawing as it fired on the flak guns? It seems that yawing could make you cover more horizontaly.
Interesting story! - Thanks for posting. I guess that with the peashooter they had in the turret, vs. the Me-110s four cannons, it was probably just as good to retract the turret anyway. Yes, Blenheim losses were dreadful in the early war years... :-(
Another top-notch video, but you already knew that. I was kind of hoping you could answer a question (although if any other commenter can help...). On your 100% PoV videos like some of the Spitfire ones I notice you have excellent control of your plane while looking around, where I tend to focus on what's in front since I'm bad at looking and flying. I actually don't play CloD I'm still on 1946, but I was curious if you play with one hand on the stick and one on the mouse or something.
I have performed no tweaks of any kind. It is just the vanilla sim with the TF patch and I didn't change anything in the Nvidia settings either. The capture is made with MSI Afterburner. I don't think my monitor settings have any effect: they're pretty regular anyway. Maybe the youtubification did something to the look, but I don't see any difference from the original capture files.
An old Saitek Cyborg 3D with a broken trigger... - I wish I could find a new one! It has force-feedback and is ambidextrous, which is a rare combination these days...

I think it must have been Karma guided flak, or something of the sort that brought you down! Thank you for bestowing us with your splendid movies, I look forward to seeing anything new from your IL-2 COD adventures. One of these days I will convince myself to buy a better computer and give this Sim a go. Do you know if one person can man the rear gunner position while another is flying?
Always great vids Soren. I would like to ask how you get such a vibrant look? Your monitor or NVidia gpu settings are near perfect and not the hazy or blueish look I see on the game normally? Are you using any filter, sweetfx , or injector of some kind?
i love videos like this haven't played a flight sim for years and years but this really makes me want to how much is a pc that can run games like this?

I am totally up to flying some cliffs of dover again after watching this. such an awesome sim, especially when using a headtracker. unfortunately my computer specs are too (s)low to play in all this beauty. plus my sat internet makes online play illusional, due to my ping being something around 2 seconds. maybe it runs better now, when i install some updates...it's not been updated since at least 8 months. for now i will look through your other awesome videos. cheers from germany.

Thank you Alan! I put a lot of work into it, very glad to hear it is appreciated.
I can never tell it enough: your videos are simply brilliant. Keep up the cheeky humour, it always keeps me coming back to your channel. :)
Cheers from Canada!
It's hard to believe it's possible, but your videos are actually getting even better... this was amazing. Brilliant use of music too.
"Aaannndd we're dead" Best famous last quote. Love the vids!!
Oh yes. How could I forget, very fitting classical choices with Holts' "The Planets" ,and Elgar too. Great stuff.
Definitely my favourite video by you. I always feel very humbled at the end after reading the outcome of what actually happened in 1940.
"Aaaaaand We're Dead." *Kaboom*
That's how I wanna go out.
Great video Søren, Nice to finally hear your voice too! ( I know that wasn't you)
+Chucky Dickens It IS my voice, cheers, Søren
Nope just a realist. Great vi as always and as always I sat glued to the screen!
You really know how to make them fascinating to watch. I play a bit myself but do not count myself as proficient like you. And thanks for the Spit instructional vid - it helped me a lot.
Had to post again - loved the music, and the story was fantastically told, was really dramatic! Bravo sir - salute!
Excellent choice of music and great editing for the crescendo of 'Mars' at the point of the attack on the flak installation
+Mike Woodhouse Well spotted, I'm very glad you appreciate it. All footage is from an online mission and I used Windows Movie Maker to edit it together (freeware proggie). I also tried to time my take-off to a good moment in Gustav Holst's wonderful "Jupiter"...
+wwwDOTdalsgaardDOTeu Just watched again (it bears it!) the take off is a great moment with the music.
Thank you.
Just love this. I"ve watched it at least three times now, and it still gets me. So well done!
it's like watching a movie, your editing skills are really solid
difficult to say something else than " wow" !!! great video, great low altitude attack. the music is part of the show. however, a great tribute to those valorous airmen .....
Gustav Holst's The Planets... I always wanted to do a vid with that music. Finally got some footage that fit the bill. Thx for your comment!
wwwDOTdalsgaardDOTeu Very good choice - Jupiter for "I vow to thee, my country". Should be UK national anthem.
Absolutely superb, one of the best mission videos on the Tube. If I could give you three thumbs-up I would.
Excellent. Very moving to the soul at the sunset. Nice to see your write up at the end.
beautiful vid this one oersted!
love the use of the WW2 radio plugin too, sounds excellent.
Soren, you sir are a Gentleman. Superb video, thank you for posting!
That was an awesome video ! I've been waiting for so long ! Thanks a lot, and I hope to see some more really soon !
As soon as I put up the money for a new computer I'll be flying high in Cliffs of Dover. I can't wait. I'll have to check out ATAG. Also, great video as always!
"Aaaand where dead...." Very well made sir I shall subscribe immediately!
Glad you liked it. The story is just what happened as I flew an online mission one evening. Lots of 'movies' are being played out every day on the ATAG server, but usually there is nobody to record them...

Nice commemoration at the end. Very good video, thank you.
This just feels so real. Just imagine RAF pilots having to do this almost every day.
Awesome vid. :-)
This was awesome! One of your best!
Amazing video! The story adds so much more!
excellent quality, very enjoyable. Haven't played IL-2 since the original many years ago, looks like it's come a fair way. sub'ed!
As usual, great video !! Thank you for the work and for sharing it Soren !!!
BTW, very great view at 5:13 ;o)
Take care,
Ted

DAMN NICE WORK! I fell all the video long like im watch a docu about WW2 and one of there mission! SWEET!
Thx for it and here i subscribe ;J
Loved the video, well planned out, shame you lost the spit at the beginning, you could have done with him at the end. Well done mate, keep them coming
We waiting long time for this video :) Great like always!
yep nice talking with you! I LOVE the video SOOOOOOOOOOO much and im watching it again when i can! :D
thanks for the video. i just finished reading a book about the battle of britain, and they actually did this quite alot, even single blenheims going over bombing airfields and townsday and night, even berlin a real morale breaker to the germans.
Excellent!! Yes,life was short for Blenheim crews.
Nice to hear your voice in Soren! And awesome video as awalys! Cheers!
Magnificent vid. U make your videos so real somehow, I don´t know!! :)
It is definitely a challenge to keep wings level and the nose on the horizon when looking around. I use trackir which helps a lot because looking around involves actual head movement, while I can keep joystick and mouse steady.

Fantastic movie as always!
Hell of a flight! Salute to the Blenheim pilots that never made it back ...
Thanks for your nice comment! Good to hear the vids are appreciated.
Yes, I love that symphony and it is available in a royalty-free version on the net, so that is nice (see the end credits).
Great, we can always use more brave Blennie pilots! My older vids are not very technically accomplished, but maybe you'll still find them funny... They are strictly WYSIWYG, cockpit-perspective only, so I think I improved somewhat...

It was a tent and vehicles with the red cross markings - but tanks parked all around. So maybe Jerry was using the hospital markings as a disguise.
all the cockpits in CoD are works of art.
Very bad briefing then...I presume you didn`t see the red cros markings on the way to the target area. Very, very good and entertaining videos! Keep them coming!.....Fighter battles please!

One of my favourites so far.
Could you make more of this kind of vids? :D
Thanks a lot Zatranec, I always enjoy hearing your opinion! - Ooops, yes, you're right... - They put a field hospital in the "panzer division" target!
Why not consider a better program with some money. I used to use freeware iMovie for Mac, but since I built my own windows I had to find something else. It really makes it easier and faster. Grrrr I came back wanting another mission/story like this one - I feel cheated!! Your fans demand more! ;)
" Blenheim " crews were very brave. They knew they were flying an outdated aircraft. Neverhteless, they went into battle.
wonderful vid like always. you sir have earned yourself a subscriber :)

The choice of Holst was truly inspired

It is a teamspeak mod made by ATAG_Colander, you can get it in the ATAG forums.
Great vids. Thank you very much for sharing with us.
I´d like to ask you if the Spit was yawing as it fired on the flak guns?
It seems that yawing could make you cover more horizontaly.
ah nice choice of music - at the beginning Gustav Holst - The Planets - Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity. Good man!
The spitfire in the video its look its great can you use that look for a video for a spitfire?is it a dynamic lighting thing you used?
Thanks for posting this story!
Thanks for the info, for a while I was thinking you had three hands, in which case I was expecting the name of a good surgeon.

De nada. Viví en Rosario 94-95, tengo muy buenos recuerdos...

Brilliant video Søren keep them up but a question concerning that are there any videos to look forward to in the future Thanks SJF :D
I'm not sure I understand your question: forse in italiano? The lighting in this video is incorporating reflections.
Ah, you already came by this one. Thanks for your kind words!
An old Saitek Cyborg 3D with a broken trigger... - I wish I could find a new one! It has force-feedback and is ambidextrous, which is a rare combination these days...
Thank you for your nice comment!
I've always loved the style of your vids. How your feeling about the upcoming IL-2? I'll be interested in seeing your work with that one, if you do any.
all edited with windows movie maker... I admire your skill
only one word: wonderful
I think it must have been Karma guided flak, or something of the sort that brought you down!

I name it in the end credits. It is from The Planets by Gustav Holst.
i love videos like this haven't played a flight sim for years and years but this really makes me want to how much is a pc that can run games like this?
What makes you say that? The current team seems to be doing far better than many at keeping up communications with the community.
Good to hear some Holst instead of the tripe that passes for "music" in some videos.
My first visit but definitely not my last. Very good movie and it appears you've been at it a while and I have lots more to enjoy :) I was just learning to fly the Blennie yesterday on the ATAG server, so how timely is this?
Very nice video as usual :)
Thanks man! - Well, I certainly put more effort into them... - This video demanded 56 gigabytes of raw footage! And, by the end of the editing, Windows Movie Maker took something like 15 minutes just to open the file. It is a big job to make a movie like this, and much of the time not really very much fun! - It is all worth it when I get nice comments and lots of views, though, so spread the word about my movies and don't be afraid to comment (and criticise) them...
The higher you fly the more blue the ground appears, which I guess is physically correct. Thanks for your comments btw, spread the word about my vids! :-)
ABOUT TIME SORENN!!! WWOOOOOOOO
Well, the name certainly proved apt!
muy bueno siempre estoy viendo sus videos felicitaciones
I am totally up to flying some cliffs of dover again after watching this. such an awesome sim, especially when using a headtracker. unfortunately my computer specs are too (s)low to play in all this beauty. plus my sat internet makes online play illusional, due to my ping being something around 2 seconds. maybe it runs better now, when i install some updates...it's not been updated since at least 8 months. for now i will look through your other awesome videos. cheers from germany.
