Battle of Britain v2.0 by Barfly - 2009

- A tribute to the classic British 1969 production, Battle of Britain, this movie specifically re-creates some of the memorable scenes, most notably the opening credits in which senior officers review a Luftwaffe unit in France prior to the beginning of the Battle of Britain. The creation of that scene using IL2 simulation mission-building tools is an achievement in itself. The combat action is creatively directed and edited, showcasing some of the most impressive recent IL2 modifications in graphics, sound, and camera tools.
Awarded the Newcomer's Silver OLEG for a superior movie by a newcomer to IL2 moviemaking.
flightsimmachin...
Have to say this is, hands down, one of the best videos of this kind that I've ever seen. It gets it spot-on in so many ways!
I remember watching this a lot back in 2010 at 9. Now this video is 10 years old.
Splendidly done, Barfly! You captured both the flavour and spirit of the original film but added some terrific new elements. Bravo!
I've watched the movie a thousand times and you've really nailed it!!!
cheers
This was absolutely wonderful to watch, so many times Battle of Britain gets me and this video depicting moments from the film was just brilliant! Fantastic editing. Can't begin to imagine the time and effort it went into making this!
A fine tribute to that great movie of 1969. You did your homework.
Rick Roscoe
That movie is just shit.
+Graustreif Brombeerkralle battle of britain wasn't shit nigga
Sebastian Hardy
Then call it crap. The movie wasn't good.
It wasn't crap nigga
Sebastian Hardy
It was. Your comment is shit. :D
the end dogfight gave shivers it was so good. The camera angles were just perfect. A fitting tribute to one of the greatest aviation movies of all time.
Very well done. A tribute to that great film. So sad so many young men from both sides lost their lives in that stupid war.
How can ANYBODY dislike such a well made, lovingly created homage to a favourite film.
No Warbird or Flight Sim' fans would give it the thumbs down......that's for sure.
I like the addition of the Bf110s, which is historically accurate. Very nicely done. Many scenes are better than the original movie, like the remastered Star Wars.
To me this is Barfly's best video. Great job!
Superb video, great sequences and overall setup
Once again Barfly has created a masterpiece. Fantastic. Cannot wait for my father to see it (he is in his late 80's). Spot on. You should be working in Hollywood, make those talentless people wake up!
Absolute pure class. Shows up all the Hollywood CGI stuff when you see what you can do with a great sim program going for 99 pence in some game shops in the UK 2nd hand. And obviously a lot of hard editing work! The PS3 version cost me nearly £40 and was not a patch on IL2 for PC.
Well done mate!
Excellent editing, magnificent presentation of that battle and together with the appropriate gears make the video a worthy example of a movie. Congratulations from Argentina Thank you
One of my favorite movies of all time. You did a great job simulating it.
Marvelous flying, camerawork, editing. Thank you.
A nice example of improving the original. I think we have all the technology we need to make exquisite videos/movies of WW2. The air war is just begging for a good movie. I'm ready. anyone else?
WOW!!! Can almost smell the av gas and gunpowder. Fantastic tribute to the battle and the movie. Kudos to you...👍
Beautifully done video! You are a master craftsman at this ! More realism than any movie.

Excellent!
@Bertatlarge It's a computer game (well, they're not really games anymore, accurate simulations that would satisfy military pilots of five years ago....) Battle of Britain - Storm of War is the latest title for PC computers, a truly remarkable piece of software.
Great video. The New COD sim will have to go along way to beat this.I hope Barfly and Mysticpuma will make some cracking videos with COD when it comes out.
Wow.....very, very nice!
please, let me thumps up more than once
Well done old chap. Spiffing stuff!
Sehr schön gemacht.....:)
awesome movie and i liked the german band a lot!
Please... make more of those videos..
Excellent job! But there were no ME-110s in the Battle of Britten movie.
bloody good!!!!!
No, it's called IL2 Sturmovik 1946. Much more realistic than War Thunder. If you enjoy War Thunder, chances are you'll love the IL2 Sturmovik series or Rise of Flight, which is pretty much the same as Il2 except it's WWI.
