I just purchased the Cluck N Purr and the Yelper today and just love them. I am a long time turkey hunter, but can not seem to use the mouth calls as I hate them in my mouth. These are soooooo easy!!!! I have been practicing since I got home and they sound so much better than my slate and my double box calls. Probably going to get the gobbler call next! Excited for the Spring season to get here!!!
Everyone who is a nay sayer on these calls obviously hasn't taken the proper amount of time to figure how to use them. If you actually try to use it and put forth effort, you'll achieve the sound you want. It took my about two weeks but I got there and I absolutely love these calls, they sound so really. Can't wait to try them out in the spring!
Bought the yelper today and am pleased with the sound. I never can quite get the sound I’m looking for with a box call or pot and peg. I can get the perfect sound from a diaphragm call but I struggle with my gag reflex at times.
Honest Review from hunter who has used calls in field. 1) This call will take practice like all mouth calls (duck calls, turkey diaphragm), none of them are easy. Do not expect to use this call without practice, or unless you are an experienced caller. 2) Between myself and another hunter we have noticed differences in identical cluck n purrs. The voice box can vary and can be damaged by incorrectly blowing on the call. Making the call defective or harder to use. Be careful with the voice box. 3) This call can be difficult to use correctly in the field, if you aren't well trained, you can very easily make the wrong sounds, and scare turkeys away. You must also move this call to your mouth with your hand, causing visible movement spotable by close birds. Box calls and slate/pot calls do not make as many unwanted sounds and are more reliable... 4) ALL THAT SAID: We have KILLED MANY TURKEYS with the cluck n purr. When you can make the purr correctly, it absolutely drives turkeys crazy. They will literally come running. BUT not all calls work on all days or on all birds, so be ready to try other calls. This is more a fun call to use, rather than a dependable works every time call. ALSO: try using it in combination with other calls to imitate a couple different hens, etc... Good Luck. Don't shoot the jakes
I bought the cut'n Gen 2 but I still can't get the sound right for the gobble even after watching the video and practicing a lot. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I'm supposed to do something with the call first.
He makes it look easy! I can't purr on this thing to save my life. My buddies all tried and it just won't do it. He is a pro caller so expect to sound like that when you or if you buy it. I would stick to slate call. Never fails. All in all they suck!!
Daniel Knight My wife is hunting Turkey next weekend for the first time, and she's using this call and has no issues purring with it, and it's the first call she's ever used. Maybe you have a defective one?
So easy to use I have no idea what everyone is talking about...I am a decent diaphragm call user but to purr on the cluck n purr is a breeze. Little to no air needed to make it purr, it a cut really well too... the thunder cuttin is soooo loud it's a great locater.
@@grenadelaunchin3631 thanks ya I figured it out. No instructions with it... anyways turns out I hate this thing gotta blow super hard to get a decent cluck. Hard on the cheeks after a while. I thought I'd try it and dont like it ...
This this is really hard to blow! I thought it would be cool, but I think I just wasted my money on this one. I've been working on it trying to make it work like on this video. It is just so hard to blow that you can't really make the sounds.
I bought this call when it first came out the voice in it lasts one season. Flextone says you can buy a replacement voice but that's a lie you can't. Trust me I've been looking since the call came out. Don't waste your money on this call get a haint it won't wear out in a season. Emails to flextone go unanswered.
Impossible to take out and use correctly. Wiley's video leaves out more than it gives. 1) How he makes the sounds he does without the call. 2) Where is the placement of the call on the lips. I bought all three and they each sound like car horns to me. His instruction is poor at best.
Idk why, but most turkey hunters don't seem to know that clucks and purrs back to back actually mean that the hen is spooked... purrs by themselves mean that the hen is calm and happy, clucks by themselves mean that the hen is calm and happy and also looking for other turkeys, but clucks and purrs together/back to back mean that the hen is spooked. (equivalent to a deer stomping its foot)
Great call! I have had insane success with both these calls. Very happy. It did take some practice, but it was time well spent. Love the calls.
3:02 if you want to skip straight to the call.
Thanks to this video i shot my first tom. I started hunting turkey last fall. Great call!

I hope you sound a whole lot better than the guy whole invented it. He sounds like crap.
The yelps sound horrible.
After just a few minutes Ive got this!!!!!! A little tough at first but don't give up. After some practice the sound is amazing.
Ya don't have to catch Turkeys, You just gotta catch Hunters
Great salesman attitude

Sound sick....

i try to
make any sound i have to blow so hard it gives me a headache
So you do have to put holes in it or no
how do you purr on the thunder cut'n?
Just bought both and am learning to use them. Just wish that made in the USA would have been on the package instead of made in China.
I bought the cut'n Gen 2 but I still can't get the sound right for the gobble even after watching the video and practicing a lot. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I'm supposed to do something with the call first.
Thunder cut called me in a bird from 400yards runnin full speed into a jake hen decoy set killed 10 yards awsome call

tom,by chance have you tried to gobble with the cluck and purr? works pretty good also

Adam Rondeau my call must be defective. It takes a great amount of effort and forceful air to even get sound.
Can you locate crow with this too
I must be dumb but I can't pur what so ever I can't get it
thanks so helps out to know how to blow it. :)
What's the black spring for, that comes with it in the package. Nothing in the instructions about that.
Probably goes on the lanyard

Agreed. I have to force so much air and effort just to make noise
Agree
Your holding the thunder cutn and talking about he cluck and purr?
I bet I'd hate this as much as I hate the Thunder Gobble that I bought on CLEARANCE for $2.50 n still feel ripped off!
You didn't do yelps?

Idk what happened but then gen2 calls are horrible

Takes way to much effort to produce noise! Its like trying to inflate a balloon with a tiny coffee straw.

I hate the cluck and purr
Me too
Wow hard to use worst I have tried don't waste money!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not a good instructional video, you didn't cover holding the holes?
