    Once you start to learn the basics of Bonsai, you start to understand just why a tree like this costs $200k, the amount of man-hours, knowledge and skilled hands that have worked on it adds to the value, it's like a priceless art piece that has been continually added to by each caretaker every year.

    • @animetor9156
      @animetor9156 3 роки тому +20

      @@robloxgacha9177 it's not about how easy or hard it is. it's about the effort, time and care that generations of extraordinarily skilled people put into it for centuries, that make the price of these bonsai. they are also all unique, but of course that is also the case for the cheap ones. you can have a bonsai from 10 bucks upwards at walmart. there's nobody being tricked that just wants to have a nice little tree in a pot. but people that are willing to pay big money are usually the ones that know the criteria that make a pricey bonsai worth it's price..

      The only reason it does not cost more is because it isn't demanding in resources and can be done concurrently with other projects.
      Still, the sheer amount of effort that is put into each one of those is something to behold.

As I looked at this great video I thought about what it would look like if this thick juniper that is about 4 inches in diameter but only about 2 foot or less tall. • @capnsmashem3284

      I'd honestly recommend spending a few years practicing with less special trees first, to build up some skills before going all in on something so old. Also, if you re-pot it you have to wait at least a year before putting too much stress on it, the stress of re-potting alone, if it spent it's whole life in the ground, is pretty shocking to the plant for a good long while. You may also consider potting it in a very large pot at first, and then year by year reducing the pot a little bit until it is the ideal size. Some people just go straight for it, but a tree that is over 20 years old is special. I'd go and buy a dozen or so trees of the same species to practice on.

    Firstly anyone saying that that's a crazy price for a Bonsai clearly don't realize it's a literally living art piece. That takes over a decade to make. It can live forever if maintained. Normal art pieces be out of canvases for instance can go for 2 million and it only took 1 month to make or one day. Those can't compare to living art such as this. So 200k is a bargain for this grandiose beauty.

Watering every day or at least 2 days during spring and summer and every other day during autumn and winter. They like to be outside as long it's not colder than 8°c. They really like sunlight, no halfshade (that's why the need water so often)

    Supply and demand? When I was about 11 or 12 my neighbor who cared for a collection taught me to care for them so she could do things like go away for a weekend, or a week. Most of the tree's were well over a couple hundred years old. They need at least every other day watering, monitoring, location change due to weather. And much more than casual knowledge or something that can be learned from reading a couple books. They are a lifetime commitment or they will be a worthless shrub, or dead one, in no time.
