To be successful with rattling being on ground level is key. I understand that bucks will run in and bust you a solid 85% of the time, but to call bucks in you need to paint a picture. Stomp on the ground first and do not be afraid to move around and make thrashing noises. The best way is to hunt with a buddy to call for them because you can not be ready to shoot while calling in the bucks doing this strategy. Also be prepared for a buck to almost run into you.
