  • In this week's episode of HUNTR Podcast, we invite special guest Andrae D'Acquisto, founder of Lone Wolf Custom Gear, to talk about all things big deer. Andrae shares his journey not only as a bow hunter but as a business owner and what goes on behind the scenes at Lone Wolf.
    Andrae is very passionate about his aggressive scouting techniques, understandably so, as he continues to kill giant deer year after year. He expresses the importance of being a mobile hunter, reading deer sign, and learning a property as a mature buck would.

    I agree with what Andre said about poaching.
    Deer going missing in Ohio specifically the 230 typical that was here👿
    I say it all the time someone is seeing the hills of southern Ohio with throw away non typicals that then breed with the local does.
    Also someone please dig up a trail cam pic of the Schumacher buck.
    I have an unreal story told directly to me about that deer.
    There are all kinds of pics of Iowa's lowienstein buck but no pics at all of that Ohio giant.

    • @tyler1671
      @tyler1671 11 місяців тому

      Why would u lease land in ohio lol you know how much public ground is lol I hunt 2 counties in nw ohio that produce 190s ... Google ohio buck herman... fucker lived down the street from one property I hunt. You don't need to own land in ohio to kill big deer makes more hassle then its worth also if it gets to big in our state it will ruin it so keep tgat shit up north please. I've hunted the hills of the south and the east it's good all public land when I do that and I see gaint deer I'm just very picky.

    I really like how andrae made sure to let it be known he ain’t feeling those remarks from John. I agree though, john could preach everything without the specific name dropping. ! It’s messy and causing a lot of separation on top of the already divided hunting community!

    My first deer 🦌/ buck scored 146 5/8 DIXIE DEER CLASSIC North Carolina and was biggest buck by a youth in 1993 , I was 13 years old and I’m 44 now and I assure u that 125 inch buck is not small on private or public here in central North Carolina… 150+ is almost unheard of yet I’ve been able to harvest several 150+

    I think it's a mis conception between John and just about everyone lol John preaches he has private ground he has. John has killed a lot more then 125" deer he held the # 1 typical with a bow 181 ten pointer in Michigan and has killed lots of big deer. But I would bet Andre would kill a bigger deer then John under any circumstances. But it's not always about how big the deer is to me if you are killing bigger then average deer for your area your a killer.

    • @HUNTRPOD
      @HUNTRPOD  Рік тому

      Interesting. Someone else said he hasn’t had one of 144” in Michigan???

    • @JimBowSlice
      @JimBowSlice Рік тому

      @@HUNTRPOD yeah I'm really not that big of a fan of John but killing 125" deer consistently in Michigan is tuff. But yeah John had the state record 180" + for about 5 years until of all people Mitch rompola beat him out by an inch. Not Mitch's supposed world record this was 15 or so years prior. The thing that urks me about John he preaches scent control and how he pays no attention to wind but yet he's always 30' up, and to me he's just using thermals.

    • @JimBowSlice
      @JimBowSlice Рік тому +1

      @@HUNTRPOD he also says he has like 30 in the Michigan book which is CBM and it is only 100" to qualify

    I’ve watched these two millennial’s podcast a few times because I’m local, Beaver County, Allegheny County and Washington County Hunter but I think it will be the last. I don’t like how they host a guest and praise their accomplishments and style of hunting but then host another guest who bashes the previous guest then laugh and go along with it. Doesn’t really make sense to me?However, John Eberhart is no more the “best archery hunter” in the world then Andrae is the best maker of tree stands in the world. I mean, “Every tree stand made after his has some part copied from his original design.” Give me a break! Andrae hunts low pressure bucks in low hunter density states. “I passed up five bucks over 160 inches in one hunt“, yeah that’s realistic. Also I give no respect to a guy who sells his company to only come back to claim the name and start another company so that his son can have a job after he put too many holes and tattoos all over himself and can’t get a job doing anything else.

    • @patrickanderson5727
      @patrickanderson5727 Рік тому +2

      Do some research on early andrae. Yes he has private farm now but he built his name hunting public ground and killing record book bucks. Also yes he is the grandfather of modern mobile hunting. His stands were the best for many years and many of the stands of today pull heavily from his originals.
