Love the childfree community i 100% was sure at 14 i did not want kids. You are anything but selfish kelsey. You are an awesome aunt. You are an intelligent awesome woman. I always look to you
I’m sorry that you experienced that Angela. I pray for closure over your life in Jesus name. And if marriage and children do happen to come into your future I pray for them to be a blessing. Jesus can transform anything! Seek Him 🙏🏻 God bless
As much as I love being an uncle, it has helped me to realize how much being a dad would drain me. I love my nephews and nieces, but if I had to take care of them, I'd probably hate my life. I also have to disagree, you're not selfish for putting your own needs before some non-existent child, you're a healthy rational adult.
I remember being 19 or 20 and not being sure about wanting to have kids. I had people around me tell me that I would change my mind. I'm now 39 and seeing how climate change is making the summers more smoky and the winters colder, it's making me even more adamant about not bringing children into the world. The challenge I find is meeting a man who is also child free.
It costs 2000 dollars to send a child to a decent school here in Istanbul. Hearing colleagues and friends go into serious debt for a education that is not even 1/5th in quality of the education in the UK/US/EU ... all of my what if's are erased in one go. No thank you very much. Imagine the real difference you can make with that money! How many animals you can save!
😯! That’s so much money! Sadly, it’s not much better here (USA), there’s public education but that is being cut immensely, teachers are struggling with limited pay, and their is potential for it to get worse depending on the next election. A lot of people are focusing on private education but that can typically only be done by wealthy families.
@@diaryofthechildfree Here in NC we have Roy Cooper who really cares about the public education system and raising teacher's pay. I really respect him because my mom's a teacher in public education. Sadly he's almost done with his 8th year of being governor. I heard in the news that Kamala Harris might pick him as VP.
I have never felt like I wanted children, nothing to do with what's happening in the world. I'm only 65, so I don't know when I'm expected to have these regrets. I have never even for a second thought about children except to think absolutely not.
I know marriage and parenthood isn’t for me. Society likes to call me “selfish” for being single/unmarried and childfree because I put myself first by prioritizing my wants, needs, goals and achievements and nobody else’s. Not only would I make an awful parent, I would make awful spouse. I am unattractive, boring, lacklustre and I have nothing to offer which would be unfair to another adult. Not only am I saving a child from suffering, I am also saving another adult from suffering.
@@swatisaini6447 Not only is having children selfish but having a life partner is also selfish. I barely love myself, how can I love another adult or even a child?
If they care so much, why don’t they make it a little easier to have children- more support especially for single moms, more affordable housing, daycare and healthcare. Nope they won’t do that but they love to shame childfree women
I did! I also heard he wants to give children the right to vote. 🤦🏼♀️ Of course that would only be because children are influenced by their parents (when younger) and haven’t been shown the world as it truly is just yet. Doesn’t want us to vote but of course wants us to pay taxes that we don’t see benefits from but still are happy to pay because we know they help (well used to at least) society as a whole.
It is sad we supposedly came so far as civilization but have to explain and defend our choices if they dont fit with majority doing everyhing on auto pilot with zero self reflection despite the evidence.

Same here. I have no wife material quailties and won't be able to keep my partner happy

Love how both you and Kimberly covered the topic of regret this week lol. I assume this was just a coincidence.
A coincidence yes, but a good topic to cover! ☺️ It’s always great to hear different perspectives and takes from everyone in the childfree world!
👍👍👍
Did you see/hear about what J.D. Vance said yesterday? He wants a bill passed to stop childfree people from being able to vote
The fact that he could be our vice president is disgusting

I’d give up my right to vote as a child free person,so long as I don’t have to pay taxes anymore either!

Because u put yourself first isn't selfish you are wise and honest parents are totally selfish but make themselves seem to be saints...no
