- One hour enamel is self sealing.
No additional sealer needed. That’s why I didn’t use one in the video. It’s pretty cool!

Ophelias adorable. I LOVE THE WAY BABY GOATS HOP AROUND!
Love the stencil. The floor looks great. ❤️❤️❤️
I love the floor. Stenciling is just right. Nice homemade paint tray!!!
The only improvement I can see is a tiny bit of caulking around the edges would clean up those baseboard lines. Love love love this!
Love how it turned out, I would love to do this thanks for sharing beautiful job ❤️
Oh my gosh! I absolutely love it!
Gorgeous design!!!!
That paint colour is such an incredible great cover and works very well. cool!!!
Looks so good and you made it look easy
I love how you do things perfectly imperfect!!
Hahah. Perfection stresses me out 😉🤗
That's the best paint job I've ever seen on linoleum. The paint is excellent. Caulking at the baseboard would definitely be the needed finishing touch. I'm watching this a year after you did it and would love to know how it held up. Also, thank you for your casual attitude, not making your videos too long, and for having a voice that's easy on the ears. I have to mute a lot of DIYers, put on subtitles, and fast forward through the long ones. Subscribing and liking. Thanks.
Hi! Thank you for all your kind words. They do mean a lot to me 😊. The floor is holding up fantastic! I am so pleased and did true counter tops with the same paint a few months ago. So now the entire bathroom is OHE paint.
How has the floor held up. I want to do my kitchen which isn’t very big but gets a ton of foot traffic. So I need a paint that is going to stand the test of time.
You did an amazing job on that floor . I am motivated, now,to paint my floors . 🥰
Thank you. It was fun and an inexpensive upgrade for sure 🤗
Thanks Melanie
Love how it came out. I have an older kitchen floor to try that on. I'll check back to get a list of those products.
Your turtles are great! Oh my gosh and Miss Ophelia is darling
Thanks girl. She definitely is giving a break for the boredom
I have been searching for a great video on painting the linoleum floor in my bathroom..... this one is my FAVE!!!!! and the baby goat is the cutest ever! Thank you for sharing!!! I'm saving for when I can get supplies if I go outside this weekend!!!
Cool! Thank you for watching!
We planned a while back to do this but, decided to see how it turned out for other people before starting the project. This is the third video I’ve found and yours is how we planned on doing it. Glad to see the result is so good. Our turn!
Just found you today. I love how it turned out!! I especially liked the way you barely put on the stencil. Much softer look. I'm using this idea in my bathroom. Thank you for sharing your talent 😃
Sweet!
I loved the faded look to the stenciling. Looks awesome!
Thank you
I love it!! I have a cement bathroom floor that needs to be painted and I bet this paint would work!! Thanks for the video, LOVE IT!!
It would be perfect!
This is so beautiful!!! Well done! Beautiful stencil!! Baby goat and turtles were an extra treat!!! ❤️❤️❤️
This is so inspiring! I'm looking at possibly purchasing a home... so many of them have good bones - are livable, but I'm objecting to the flooring. This is a great idea! Thank you for making this video! I love seeing the baby goat!
I would have probably used a ruler - or leveler to have started the stencil patterns. But I like the way it turned out in your bathroom, it looks really good and definitely gives that room a completely NEW LOOK!
Great job!
Beautiful! Love your animals too! I just bought stencils last week and I appreciate this video.
Awesome! I’m glad it could help
When you say enamel paint, I think of nail polish. I love how you have an outdoor space for your turtles. The floor turned out great!!
Very pretty ... love that you shared video of your pets.
it looks pretty good, I have an old vinyl floor, didnt want to spend money and time on new flooring, so I will give painting it a try !
I would definitely caulk along the baseboard, just so it looks neatly finished.
I love it!
I did after...!i guess it’s was a floor painting video... not caulking.. so I didn’t think to include it. Whoops 🤗
It turned out beautiful! My husband and I just pulled 20 year old carpet out of our master bathroom a couple weeks ago. Who puts carpet in a bathroom?? We've been walking on sub flooring because I didn't know I wanted to do. This has given me inspiration. Now I can't wait to go to home depot to get some tile. Thanks for sharing your talent!
Sweet!
My x husband insisted on carpet in the bathrooms. 🤮
@@VintageMakeoverswithMelanie Oh my lol!
THANK YOU! I love the placement of the stencils. You are so interesting and I love box turtles and never thought about a habitat for them. Thank you again for posting I am watching you as much as possible!
Thanks sister! I appreciate you
@@VintageMakeoverswithMelanie 🙏🤗
That look so nice!❤️ I love the baby 🐐
OMG! I love it!
Your grand goat is so cute... Thanks for sharing 😘
Awe thanks Gwen. She’s pretty darn cute
Very helpful.
We’re restoring a 1956 home.
One owner. (Not remodeling) restoration salvage anything possible. This helps.
Nice job btw.
Thanks will do. Your design looks great
The goat is too much!!!! So cute. I want one!!
Ditto!!!
Great idea & looks great.... hope your girls love it!
Thank you
This is so satisfying!!
Lovely project!
So simple, lovely 😍
Thanks for sharing. It looks awesome.
Love your channel! And really loved a peek at the turtles and Ophelia, too. Thanks for putting out extra right now
Good idea that you have a diaper on Ophelia.... That way she can enjoy hanging out in the house with you.
Yes she pees constantly!
That really updated the floor! Ophelia’s cameo appearance was so cute🥰
Wow..Melanie..it looks gorgeous..great job... I have been finishing projects too.i want to do that to my outdoor patio..hopefully soon. Take care.👍🌹❤👍
You too
I saw a snippet of your patio and that looked beautiful! I would love do that to my own patio!!
Cool
This looks fantastic. I tore up linoleum floors, and sanded and stained the hardwood underneath , but I might like this in my entry way👍 TFS😊😊
Cool!
Definitely want to do this!!! Great info...thank you. Looks great!!!
Thank you too!
Great Job! Super cute goat, diaper included
I love the way that turned out! It's simply beautiful!
We live on a small goat farm, Mytonics (fainting goats) & Dwarf Nigerians. 10 acres & they are free range. It's so fun, we live amoung the goats, lots of babies, they are the cutest babies! Most of our goats are tiny. Miniatures by standard sizes. You would love them!
I definitely would! We bottle fed two Nigerian dwarfs many years ago. It was fun and they were just like dogs.
How wonderful you have so many ❤️
Great Video. The floor looks great. I like how you spaced the stencil, it's different & I love it!
Thank me girl. Wise Owl=awesome!
GREAT JOB !!! I LOVE IT !!
Awesome job, love it
Thank you 😊
Love it. I have old cream/grey lino in my kitchen and can't replace it just yet so I'll give it a try :)
It’s so durable. I think you will be pleased
Love the floor!!
Ophelia 🤗
We had goats when my son was a baby. There's hours of entertainment watching them play. They're SO darn cute!
I had a turtle show up in my driveway one day!! 10X bigger than your guys. Talk about a surprise! 😲 Turns out the mailman put him behind my driveway gate. His name was Popeye and belonged to a neighbor waaay down the block. It was SO fun the short time I had him.
I bet! Popeye is a great name too!
Goats are so happy 😀
Cool you didn’t have to seal after. Good product
This is what I am looking for. We are putting in new floors throughout the house and want to stencil some Nautical Themed art work on the floor is areas like the entrance, center of bathroom floors, etc.
Looks great !!!!
Just watched your DIY vinyl floor paint and stencil and loved it. Can you give us an update on how it has held up 2 years after? I'm considering doing this eventually on my kitchen floor.
It’s holding up fantastic…. Next time I clean the floors… lol. I will post on my Community page!
Beautiful!!!!
Love it!!
I have a 600 sq ft Condo with the same kind of tile Lino and it’s ugly and now I wanna paint it like this! It’s cool that it still looks tiled and the contours are still visible!
You definitely could
Self leveling is sort of a sales tactic, almost all paint self levels because.. well gravity. Turned out badass!
love this and love ophelia xxx
I need to do that. Thank you.
Awww...luv your turtles..❤
Love it!
I have an old 1965 rambler home that needs some serious remodeling but in the mean time, I am looking to paint my laundry room and kitchen floor. Good to know about the enamel paint. I was going to go with a porch paint but now I am going to give this a second look. How is it holding up three years later?
OMG how cute is Ophelia 😍 And I am a bit jealous because my floors are all marble and tiles -a staple here in Greece -and I can't do something as beautiful as your project! It looks amazing 😉
Oh goodness girl! If I had marble tiles! You are so lucky!
@@VintageMakeoverswithMelanie thanks sweetheart 💜 I'm not trying to be ungrateful or anything, but the maintenance of marble floors is a real pain in the neck, trust me. You can't use disinfectants or anything other than clear water to clean them up because they get damaged and on top of that you must mop on all fours in order to make it look good, otherwise it looks dull and dreadful 😞. Tiled floors are the best, but as my late daddy was a marble mason, every piece of flooring in my house is marble 😀 and he did a great job and I am grateful, but it's still a lot of work!
Oh. I had no idea. That is a lot of work
I like the idea of spreading the stencil out! Maybe if you bought two stecils of the same design it would go a little faster. If you wanted to make the stencil a little darker, would you just let it dry in place and then add a second coat without moving the stencil in order not to blur and fudge the lines? If I that were the case, I would definitely get two stencils of the same design to speed up the process.
Baby goat is darn right cute🥳
love everything you do. would you please do a video on how to use shipwrecked verdigris wax? does it look like aged copper when applied? do you have to layer copper and blues first? if youhave already done a video will you tell me which one? thanks for keeping me sane during this time. much love and blessings to you
Here’s one! Copper patina! New product release DIY paintua-cam.com/video/auBd0LHyQLs/v-deo.html
Nice! Doing this to mine!
One more tip, if you paint over your stencil with your base color (the white) it seals it to the floor better and you don't get bleed through.
I would love to try this but my linoleum has deep cut marks where I dragged furniture across it, hence ruining my floors. Wonder if I used wood putty or something like this
Nice job thanks 🇨🇦👍
Love it
Looks amazing. Could I ask you a question please
How long dies it take to dry? What paint did u use, ❤
Love that!! I found you by searching. How to paint my linoleum! Chuckle
Glad your here!
Love it.... I was wondering if the paint process would work as well on the wall if it too were covered with the linoleum flooring??? What else would work if not??? and safe to use...Thank You!!!
The paint was made for wall originally. It will work.. but it will not puddle.. so it will look different
Looks beautiful! What did you use to seal it?
I am going to paint our slit bathroom floor about 3' by 4' any ideas for this small area....gel staining our 38 year old oak cabinets Java and Brown Mahogany very soon.....that for your video:) love the critters!
Won’t take much paint for that.
I've hated the flooring in my bathroom ever since we moved in. It had a bunch of dark dingy spots to begin with but I've also stained it with some red hair dye and I haven't been able to get it out (or the preexisting dark spots for that matter). I don't really want to spend time and money updating the floor if it's just going to get ruined the next time I color my hair. Does the paint you used resist staining or is there a seal I could put on top that would make a repainted floor stain resistant? Are there any cleaning products or techniques to avoid using if I don't want to eat through the paint?
Fabulous
Looks good. I really like your goat..
I love the worn, Vintage look you went with!
Yes sealing even with waterbased sealer. Helps
I would not recommend that.
@@VintageMakeoverswithMelanie What sealant did you use?
Great video! Thank you very much! Now that we are 4 years later, could you please tell us how its holding up?
Thank you so much! Have a great day!
Love the floor, the goat, and the turtles! I had box turtles when I was a kid. :) Do you think this paint and primer would work and hold up on a vintage ceramic tile floor???
I would sand those tiles pretty good. Then the primer will have something to grab onto
Nice, Melanie! I have two rooms that need this! Glad to see different products used...curious how they’ll hold up to traffic, mopping, etc. You said that paint is self sealing...so no additional sealer at the end?
Not necessary to seal it. Although there is a clear enamel that could go over it for extra protection. If your going to pour bleach or something harsh like that.... I would definitely recommend it
Love!
Looks great! Are you going to caulk the gap where the flooring meets the molding?
Yes, it’s done..
Lovely
love it! :)
Has this held up over the past few years? I’d like to use Wise Owl for our great room floors/vinyl.
I've always wanted a black & white checkerboard kitchen floor. Looking at my vinyl floor, 4 squares make one 12x12" square. Putting the white on the floor - it really dries in one hour? This is my kitchen and I can not go in there for an hour but longer than that would be pressing it. I've spent hours on the internet about getting tiles, sheet vinyl, etc. but the cost is pretty high. Painting would be perfect. Thank you
It does dry in an hour… but remember it is not “cured” so that means if you see that’s it’s dry.. you can walk on it. But it can’t be high used for a few hours to be safe. Best bet is to do it at night, then go to bed. It will be ready for full walking in the morning
I’m thinking about doing this but the vinyl is quite torn up. Do you think it would work?
I love tortoise and goats! And you know she knows I have pets on them always do better. Love the floor and I love you. thanks
Thank you Dawn! This is the current life! Thank you for watching
Very nice job. So how is it holding up to foot traffic. Anything you would have done differently?
I've got a kitchen vinyl floor that is at least 20 years old and think I might try something like what you have done. Has the paint held up? Peeled? Worn? Flaked?
Hi,
It’s holding up fine. The only thing I would have done differently is a darker color. My daughter has dark hair and it really shows up on the white floor!
Or on second thought I would have taught the girl to not be so lazy and clean up after herself 😔🤗
I can't seem to get hold of wiseowl products in the UK..would you recommend anything UK based or universal based ?
I do not know of any other products like OHE. That doesn’t mean they are not around… I wish I was more help. I can ship it to you if want. We could get a shipping estimate.
Hey girl I would LOVE an “update” showing how all the painted floor finishes are holding up year(s) after?? And do you have snot outside you could show too? I’m hoping to do a couple projects soon
Hey! I can definitely get some and post them in the community page
@@VintageMakeoverswithMelanie thanks girl!
Hi Melanie! Just came across this video and I want to do the same thing in my bathroom. Did you get a chance to do a follow-up video? I'd love to see how well this paint has held up a year later. It looks so beautiful and easier to do than regular latex paint. :)
Absolutely loved it 😁 Do you have any tips on how to update floor tiles ? Particularly bathroom ones, that are in the shower receptacle as well?
Not sure about inside the shower. But you can paint tile also
@@VintageMakeoverswithMelanie Are you kidding??? My mom's shower tiles are old & hideous. I'd love to know how. You are awesome to watch!! Just found you & now I'm following you!!!
Angela Long thanks Angela!
Is it easy to clean as in bleach and mop afterwards or will it come off ? my flat is linoleum apart from the bedrooms and was thinking to paint it? Just worried it will ware out after each clean.
Hi,
I use Mr. Clean or Lysol to mop. I don’t think I would use bleach on any painted surface
Looks Great...Kinda Shabby Chic/French Country Looking
Thank you Monica
Won't the paint crack after a while?
Also, can you get a glossy finish with paint? Kind of resembling the original linoleum
No cracking at all. This paint has a satin finish.
So it looks great and easy to do and the cost are low , if you wanted to compltely replace it would cost heaps, so my question is , how is it waring with all the tracksion
So far so good. It has been 9 months? Sloppy girls, wet dogs, and just life... I have no complaints
Man! I could have really used that product in my last house!!!!
It’s good stuff!
