You've really nailed it with that corner! The backdrops you've incorporated add a whole new level of depth and are blended seamlessly with the scenery. 😍 The grade crossing, road, and parking area are all spot-on too, and the perspective makes it appear much wider than it is, despite the narrow road on the far side of the track. I absolutely adore the motive power and weathering on display, and the track looks superb with its weathered ties, derails, and perfectly colored ballast. All in all, an outstanding job and well done to you! 👏
Thanks for the great compliment! I really appreciate it! Stay tuned for more. I have another interesting scene I plan on working on in the near future.
WOW Tim! Your scenery appears to actually grow. I feel like I want to go camping in those woods next to the bridge. Your motive power always looks and sounds GOOD! A BIG THUMBS UP!
That corner turned out well. The backdrops really add a lot of depth and you've blended them with the scenery very nicely. The grade crossing, road and parking area worked well, too, for even though the road is quite narrow on the far side of the track, the perspective makes it appear full width. Love the motive power and weathering... Track looks great with the weathered ties, derails and ballast colors. Well done!
Thanks! Not a lot of space here to work with but I tried to make it look as realistic as I could based on the circumstances. I’m pretty happy with the results. Makes for an interesting scene to me and helps tell the story of railroading. Tim
@@SeaboardCentral You're quite welcome! I'd say you did a fine job using minimal space. I haven't been able to do any modeling in years but still "track-plan" mentally, I suppose. I am always looking at layouts from a photography perspective, as well. Keep up the good work! :)
Thanks for watching and subscribing. There are over 100 videos on the channel. Hope you will enjoy them and look forward to each Sunday when a new video is released. Tim
This just looks AMAZING! The printed backdrops look great, and the use of depth of field down the alleyway with the fence is terrific. Also the fact that the road ends in a "T" intersection with shrubs and trees behind is much better than some attempts to have roads go off into the distance. And the blending of the backdrop with scenery really ties it all together well. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing!
hey Tim, looking and sounding good! The ESU decoders provide some smooth running and the Scale Sound Speakers are downright awesome. Also, I like the track work, ballast, details and weathering.....very realistic. Thanks, Terry
Tim, this layout is simply amazing. Thank you so much for helping me get inspired with my model railroad, the Chesapeake and Western, a class III shortline. Your Seaboard Central is AMAZING, and I love everything about the layout!!
Your layout is superb, and I understand you wanting to complete a section before moving on to next however, why not do basic scenery then move on to next section. My plan was to go back and do level two of scenery after all trackwork was complete. It worked out for me because as I started to get interested in ops I had to make some changes. This way I got to try out all the layout before doing the fine finishes as you have done( not that mine would be as fine as yours anyway) , but That also worked out since I'm still learning from people like yourself. I really want to see your next section going. Don't mind me I'm a bit impatient 😄 Really , beautiful work, thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Bob! I am very limited with my time as my schedule on the real railroad keeps me away for many hours a day. So I try to use what time I have to do projects that I can do pretty quickly and easily. But have no fear…I have a week of vacation at the end of March and my plan is to stay here and get the next section’s Benchwork done. The April update should be a big one! Tim
0:40 "[SC 151] needs to be switched out for pick up to the shop." Unfortunately, the shop hasn't been built yet. Can Seaboard Central build it before all their locomotives have to be taken out of service? Tune in for next month's update! Classic cliff-hanger ending. :nodnod:
Thanks! Yes, I have a lot of how to videos on the channel showing how I am building this layout. I hope you will enjoy going back and watching just how much it is changing since I started.
Everything about this layout is fantastic. The weathering is excellent, attention to detail is there, background is well done and that track looks like it is real. Is this based off of the fictional Seaboard Central of 30 years ago Model Railroader live event fame? Similar colors and font.
Thank you so much! It is sorta based off of it. At least in name only. I remember seeing the article and thinking the name would be perfect for my plan of taking over operations of secondary trackage from both CSX and NS that was originally SCL and CofG trackage. The name Seaboard Central just made perfect sense.
Lol! I hope that my how to videos can help to show how easy it really is. I am no master model railroader by any means. I just try to use good materials and items that produce good believable results. Thanks for the great comment. Tim
Good stuff, Tim! What colors do you use on you ties? They look very realistic. I've had difficulty getting convincing browns and greyish browns on mine. Cheers from Wisconsin!
Hello, really like your videos. Does Georgia Bigffot Trains do decoder installs for anybody? If so, does he have a Website? Please share if he does. Thank you!
They can do it in a day. There’s a long list of items they have to inspect. And they also use that time to do regular maintenance on the unit. As an engineer, I’ll often report issues that come up in the field. Some things can wait until it goes in and in some cases they will send a shop truck out into the field to address it.
Lol! I wish I had more room to give to it but I am very limited in the yard area. I might have a little scene around the diamond with the NS. Stay tuned. Hope to start on the yard later this year.
@Seaboard Central I have a very dry, sick, humor. My wife stays on me all the time for that. I do not mean to offend, I enjoy your channel/content, and hopefully soon, I will start back on my channel. Thank you for what you do.
Learned something new as usual…diesel time on duty and inspection time limits…scenery looks great…if possible, I’d like to meet you and see your railroad…I’m in Augusta all this week and will be in McDonough all next week…not sure where you are in relation to there…you can email me (in my about page) if that’s OK

Wonderful as always Tim. How wide is that section that runs down the wall that has the three parallel tracks? Thanks

Excellent! Where are you sourcing your switch stands from?
Thanks! They come with the Micro Engineering turnouts
Tim, do you have any type of art background? I know some of the great model railroaders like Pelle Soeborg have a background in art.
Not really other than art in high school and some commercial art classes in college. I mainly just try to copy what I see at work.
Nice work Tim, is the 153 by atlas?
Thanks! Yes it is.
