I have this exact noise, I'm glad I found this video, I thought my engine was dying
It is very common on this model! I have seen it on several mowers of this model. Make sure to have the ignition off when you work with the blades, so it won’t start. You can also remove the spark plug cap to be sure. 👍
Can we all appreciate his awesome pants
I did this install thanks to this video but now the mower blade stays engaged even when button is not pressed, or lever pushed in. The blade is constantly engaged. Any ideas?
Did you install the clutch and spring right?
@@InTheVise I'm not sure. I installed it with the center touching the side the bearing is on. The outside ring of it touches the upper side toward the mower side. I'm thinking I have it upsidown. I'm talking about the throwout spring / spring washer that enages / disengages the clutch.
@@timothygrady7552 it’s probably the spring washer
You didn’t balance the blades
I try to take off the clutch and the bolt just spins. What’s the secret?
Use an impact!! Or hit the ratchet with a hammer. It is the engine that spins. Make sure the key is in off position, so the engine won’t start!
@@InTheVise it’s not an electric start. HRX217, how do I stop the engine from spinning?
@@chuckpalmer3926 use a hammer and hit the ratchet while you try to loose the bolt. Or use an impact gun. Then the bolt will come loose. You don’t need to lock up the engine.
@@InTheVise got it, thx
@@chuckpalmer3926 cool!! Never give up, and you will make it!!
