  • Toyo Tires just released their all new R/T (Rugged Terrain) Tire, the Toyo Open Country R/T Trail. After having them installed I IMMEDIATELY went to the desert to test them out!
    This video covers my first initial impressions of the tires. Given that I only had these tires on for less than 24 hours when filming this video, the review is limited. Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss my in depth follow up review after extensive on and off road driving!

    I'm going on 30,000 miles with my Toyo Trails. I overland some of the most remote places in Oregon and have all the confidence in the world with these tires. Highly recommended.

    I just got them on my truck and I really like them. Very comfortable and pretty quiet. It works great in sand, mud and snow. I personally think they are way better than an all-terrain tire especially on a heavy duty truck.

    Thank you for making this video. Been waiting for a video on these. Love my AT3’s but hate the sidewall. These look so good, definitely gonna get some for my GX.

      I have them too on my Ranger. I just need more grip on loose rocks. Lots of shelf roads in Colorado and want as much grip without going MTs.

    I'm really digging these! They seem comparable to dura tracs but with a better looking sidewall design. Hopefully they stay a bit quieter than my dura tracs did. These may be the next set of tires I get for my OBS Z71. Thanks for the video!

    Just put a set on my '24 Chevy 3500 (285/75/18). Way too early to tell how they will run on an HD pickup that tows heavy. They sure look good. I am taking a chance on this tire in the Winter, hoping it will stick on ice. Should find out soon enough.

    i've been a big fan of Toyo Tires for 4 years now and I would never change it. But damn they couldn't have released these at a better time while I shop for tires for my new Tacoma!! it'll look slick!!

    How do these tires handle on road? I’m thinking of replacing the K02’s on my raptor with these tires. I know they’re great offroad but haven’t heard much about their on-road/highway handling. How they feel steering, over bumps, etc.

    • @desertdime
      @desertdime  Рік тому +1

      Honestly the only difference I’ve noticed on road is the noise being a bit louder. Other than the not much difference on dry road. Now when it’s raining and wet it does noticeably grip more than the KO2. After driving on KO2 for so long I knew just te right amount of throttle to break the rear end loose to have some slide action, but now it won’t break loose unless I give it a lot more. And even then it grips pretty quick and straightens me out

    • @controvrsy046
      @controvrsy046 Рік тому +1

      @@desertdime Damn, these sound like awesome tires. I can deal with a little more noise, my 6.2L isn’t exactly quiet to begin with haha. I just wanted to be sure these track straight on the highway and aren’t sluggish in the steering wheel. The additional wet road grip is definitely welcomed. The KO2’s will break free so easily in the rain.

    How many miles are you expecting to get? Torn between these and Cooper XLTs. Toyos look so much better, but I’ve had the Coopers in the past and their longevity was surprisingly great.

    Ive always ran KO2 35x12.5 or 37x12.5. Road condition mainly rain and trail use. Would you recommend?
    I didnt catch what size youre running but curious how wide is the tire (true size). Ko2 35x12.5 is really 10” wide (not 12.5). They look stupid skinny. I hope these are wider.

      Well between my exhaust and my creaking weather seal in the doors it’s not that noticeable, but if you have a dead silent vehicle I’m sure you’d notice some road noise. Still not as much as MTs tho

    • @desertdime

      They claim that the zigzag groove patters acts as stone ejectors. I didn’t hear any rocks stuck in my tread once I hit the asphalt, but again haven’t had much off-road time with them. I am going back out this weekend tho so im stoked to keep product testing them.
