The Final Cut of the 2023 Highwood Montana Wheat Harvest / Day 28 (August 16)

- Опубліковано 16 сер 2023
- The last pass of the 2023 harvest was made about mid-day.
And now the big clean-up begins.
The experience we had with this amazing family and their harvest was just the answer my non-harvesting soul needed.
The end of harvest is exciting. And a letdown. The intense days are hard at the time but greatly missed when it’s over.
Everyone working together towards the end goal is worth all the crazy which harvest provides.
I mentioned Katie’s UA-cam channel. Here’s the scoop: / @montanafarmlife3000
Many thanks to Katie and Nick for providing me with drone footage and pictures! ❤️
What an AMAZING time we’ve had here!!
What’s next? A week of harvest north of Chester (Montana). Providing there is cell service.
If you haven’t already...please subscribe to our channel. 😊 (and be sure to hit the notification button so you don’t miss a day!)

My husband and myself just want to say a big thank you for all the work all of y'all do. We really enjoy your video, I can't imagine how much work goes into it. Thank you for the beautiful view you have given us. My husband went through there in the 70's working on a pipeline job, he loved it. Again I just want to say thank you to Jim and yourself and all the farmer.
Thank you, Shirley, for taking the time to leave such a nice note! We both really appreciate the fact that people take the time to do that. ❤️
Ellis reminds me of many old men I've known. Worked hard most of their life. Maybe did a stint in the Armed Forces early on. They work in part because they have to. But more importantly, they work because they are honest people who want nobody responsible for them except themselves. Some (who are ignorant and fools) may look down on folks like him. I personally admire and respect them and thank God we still have people willing to do the hard labor needed for the rest of us to thrive. (Same goes for you and Jim).....
Ellis is a good man! He served in the Vietnam War.
Thank you for the GREAT series of videos from beautiful Montana
@@vernbahr6575 you’re welcome!
Great job Tracy!!
Please keep it going.
Some of us old folks really enjoy it.
GOD bless all you hardworking people!!!!
Thank you so much!
I watched every day. Just amazed at the vastness and beauty. The lack of weeds shows how good of operators they are. As a retired farmer it was impressive to see how few breakdowns they had. Also good to see the excellent yields at a time when prices are high. You need that once in awhile to make up for bad years.
The timely rains they received was also a part of the large picture. Thank you for your note!!!! And for being a part of our journey.
Mr. Sunshine seems to be smiling the most when the kids are around. 😊
I appreciated how everyone jumped straight in to clean everything before moving on. It shows great management and training.
We’re a team. And teams play well together!
Jim certainly does like the little ones.
America the beautiful....personified in your videos. Many thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for being a part of it!
Tracy and Jim really enjoyed this adventure and wish you God ‘s speed as you move forward to the next one.
Thanks 👍
I worked 5 harvests on a family wheat farm in the Palouse operating either a JD95H or JD6602 in the early 70's. Each of those harvests was 30 straight days (only one August rain in 5 years). The similarity (e.g. servicing the equipment, crew supper and cleaning up the equipment the day we finished) to this Montana operation as captured by your videos is overwhelming. Just the best series of wheat harvest videos I have found on the internet. Thank you for the memories!!
I am SO GLAD you enjoyed it!! Thank you for letting me know. And for being a part of the journey. I loved hearing about your memories.
Not gonna lie …. Going to miss these videos . Totally agree with many others Tracy did a magnificent job ! Thank you for the adventure 😀
I’m SO GLAD you enjoyed them! And that you’ve been along with us for the journey.
Thank you to the Bahnmiller families for allowing You and Jim to share your journey and the theirs of the 2023 grain harvest with all.
To the Bahnmiller’s, I am so proud of you and the farm operation you have developed over the years and the well oiled machine it is!
They’ve worked VERY HARD for what they have!! It was an honor to have been a part of their harvest.
Absolutely the best Harvest series on the web today Tracey! Netflix couldn't come close to a story line of this magnitude, with the filming and documentary you and the others provided during these 28 days. Congratulations on a harvest of a lifetime!
Oh gosh!! Thank you so much!
Tracy , what a remarkable blessing I consider this to be for all zeorian harvesting viewers , the best of Jim and Tracy , beautiful country and a wonderful farm family doing what they do best , their part in feeding the world !
Blessings to you and Jim and travel mercies !
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much, Gerry!
By far the nicest harvesting videos! Great job everyone!
Thank you so very much!!
The Bahnmillers are the best thing that could have happened for the Farm, my great-grandfather, homesteaded in 1909; my grandfather built upon during the Depression and WWII; my father expanded and worked for over a half century, before he retired. They have treated the Katzenberger ground with a stewardship second to none. The farmstead that I grew up on could have ended up like so many others, dilapidated, falling down, or burned to the ground. Instead, it is a showpiece for not only the Highwood North Bench, not only Chouteau County, but for our great State of Montana.
Thank you, Tracy, for showcasing this farming operation on your channel. The Bahnmillers and extended family are beautiful people, fantastic friends, and outside of being a bit fun and crazy at times, are wonderful neighbors, and an asset to the community.
Respectfully submitted,
Kevin Katzenberger
As a sister to Kevin Katzenberger, I too want to say a huge THANK YOU to the Bahnmiller’s and their entire crew. It was my daughter’s wedding that was held there on the 9th day of harvest. We now live in NC and she wanted her plain, simple wedding on the farm she was born on. Little did she know it would be far from plain and simple. We and our guests were welcomed with open arms to have a special wedding on this special farm. My daughter and her new husband were honored and extremely grateful because it was the farm she was born on as well as was I. The work put in by Carol on the yard that was immaculate for the ceremony was simply gorgeous. Not to mention it was right at the get go of harvest and a very very busy time.
Needless to say this farm isn’t today like it used to be, of course, years ago when I was growing up, but it has become a truly outstandingly beautiful master piece of a farm that is so pristinely well cared for and looked after and managed by the best of the best that it would make all the Katzenberger’s who have ever farmed a piece of it so very proud. The hours of hard work and dedication to farming all the acreage seen that was involved in this series is simply mind boggling. We couldn’t have had anyone any better than the Bahnmiller’s to take our part of it over and make it what it is today.
Tracy you and Katie and Nick have made this wonderful series into something so breathtakingly beautiful and something that from day one I could not wait to see what would happen or which field you would be on the next day. Thank you so much it is truly a Hallmark series for me that I will watch over and over again!
I appreciate you telling the history of this farm, Kevin! I knew they bought it in 1985 and have
made it what it is today. I have so much respect for all of them. Genuine people who work hard for what they have!
I am SO GLAD I was there to capture every day. It truly was an honor to have been a part of all of it!!!!!❤️
It has been a magnificent journey, thank you for taking us along!!!
I’m SO GLAD to hear you enjoyed it!
The only word I can think of that describes watching the last 4 weeks of this is....Priceless!
So glad you’ve been along with us!!❤️
Tracy, wanted to thank you for doing such a fantastic job of documenting this month of harvesting. It's amazing to see farming on such a large scale as this. Wishing all the best to our farmers and their families. Thank you for feeding us!
❤️❤️ thank you!!
It is amazing how well this family works together ! Everyone has a job and they do it so well . Well , no broken bones , no major breakdowns , no one was hurt , and no major fires . It tells me what a good farmer or farmers these people are . So many acres to cover WOW BIG FARMERS for sure . Thank you Tracy for sharing their harvest , now you move on to the next one . How many day's were you usually gone when you had your own machine ?
They are an amazing family unit!!
We were typically in one spot 10 days to 2 weeks. We were always in Jordan 6-8 weeks.
Watched all 28 days! Couldn't wait for the next day to come out and see what happens. I don't know when all those fields are spread out all over like that how you can't forget to do a couple 😱 ! I've been watching your videos since you guys started and always look forward to the next one. Keep them coming and God bless you and Jim and your family and God bless our great country 🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
THANK YOU!! I honestly never knew where I was. I also wondered if I would ever become familiar enough with the area that I would know where to go just by the name of the field.
Thank you Tracy and of course the Bahnmiller family who let you film this wonderful operation.
A great crew and the beautiful scenery of the Montana / Carter area, I watch Fast AG Montana, Kate's AG and the Welkers, all in this same area, and I'm glad I found your channel, the drone views are amazing and a huge plus to all the videos.
Thanks again and greetings from the Netherlands. 😊
Thank you so much!❤️
My sincere and heartfelt congratulations to the farming family that put in this excellent crop and successfully harvested it with yours and Jim's able help. As a now retired (because of failing health) Aussie farmer I know what a huge relief it is when the crop is harvested. Well done to all. Thank you Tracy and Jim for the wonderful footage. Looking forward to seeing the next property you go to.
Thank you, Jeff! I appreciate your kind words.
Great videos all the way around , thank you & also the family in the last 28 or so days , thank you all , great memories !!
So glad you were along with us for the journey!
Wow, really enjoyed the last 28 days! Beautiful editing! I watch when i get home from harvesting to wind down before bed!

It was a wonderful experience to have been a part of their harvest!
Tracy, a fantastic series of wheat harvest videos.
Many thanks!
After so many years of doing this Tracy, you’re getting better at pictures videos and explaining things to the people and I love the scenery pictures and the sunsets. I just hope you come back to doing this next year.
I hope so too! I can’t imagine not being in a combine or a wheat field!
SUPER VIDEOS AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR TAKING US ALONG WE LOVE YOU
Love you right back!
Excellent harvesting series, excellent cinematography, excellent story telling. I enjoyed each and everyone of your daily digests. Best of luck to everyone.
Awwwww…thank you SO MUCH!
Amazing footage of a great harvest! Nice equipment and nice clean grain to cut! First class operation👍
👍🏻👍🏻
Found your channel last year.. Have enjoyed it in 2023 and the early years as well. Look forward to your next posts. Live in Virginia now but my heart is still in Montana and Wyoming. Safe travels and God bless.
I can totally understand your feelings of MT and WY! Thanks for continuing to watch!
A wonderful harvest with a bunch of great people. Thanks for sharing.
It’s been an awesome experience!
What a great place to work, and the great people to work with, the best of both worlds. I’ve followed you since the beginning and you always say these are sad days when you finish, I’m guessing this is too
Stay safe and stay in touch!
The end of Harvest is always a let down for me!! Always.
Hard to believe how fast those 28 days went by !!! Kudo's to Katie & Nick for great Drone pictures and a SUPERB collection of Pictures for the Harvest Highlights !!! The moment in so many of the Harvest Highlight pictures was captured so well. Absolutely fantastic !!!
I went to Katie's YT channel and viewed the 2020 Video. The quality is outstanding. Please encourage them to do more.
I first saw the magnificance of Montana from Agristudios YT channel a few years ago. The drone footage captured the last 28 days has been outstanding capturing both the field work and the amazing Missouri river basin !!!
Lastly, what an amazing library of video's of you have created to share for future generations of the Zeorian family. Simply priceless. Best regards and look forward to more updates.
All of this…❤️❤️
Thank you so much! And it does my heart good to know others are enjoying the stories.

You know you will be!!👍🏻
Truly enjoyed watching!!
I’m so very glad!
Tracy, I enjoyed the videos of Montana..love the scenery. Vastness of the land. You made lifelong friends..and got to operate a John Deere!
❤️❤️😊
The best video yet! And thanks to ALL who provided these great shots each day but especially this day. Since I have followed you each day, it was kind of sad to see you finish, but what a show of equipment getting cleaned too! And what an operation! Either helping to cook or cleaning the equipment would be in my wheelhouse. (Of course, I would only know how to spray the water!)
They are a well-oiled machine and we are honored to have been a part of it!
Thanks for allowing my wife and myself to attend this adventure with you all. From Ga. Many thanks
So glad you were along for the 2023 harvest!! And thanks for your note.
Thank you for sharing another harvest journey with us. You’re such a great story teller and create wonderful videos. I’m so glad you can continue to tell the story even though you’re not running your own harvest business anymore. Safe travels and I look forward to seeing more videos at your next stop.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! This means a lot. Glad you’re along with us for the journey!
Always a joy to see your videos! Appreciate all your time and effort for these great pieces of time👍‼️‼️
Thank you so much, Mark!
Thank you Tracy for these awesome videos! I have truly enjoyed them all! Have enjoyed seeing your husband Jim out there in the field hard at work too.
Sad to see harvest end but it was a blessing to be able be there and see it and come for the wedding! Such a wonderful feeling to be home in Montana again.
Will be looking for Katie’s Videos as I anxious to see that too. I will miss the smell of that fresh earth being farmed but just like harvest it is hours and hours of long days to get the new crop back in the ground. Safe travels to you wherever you go! May God bless you both!! 🤗🙏🏻🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much. Knowing these brought joy to your heart means a lot to me. ❤️
Thank You again Tracy for another amazing video and thank you for the amazing pictures, what a great place and amazing family ❤
I had a lot of help with the pictures and drone. I am honored to be able to share these with you!
Amazing videos harvest 2023. Thanks Tracy for taking us along. Maybe we'll get a little more when you make it to Nebraska.
You will. When fall harvest rolls around.
This was especially joyful for me. Many decades ago my Dad was NCOIC of a Minuteman Nuclear Missle Wing at Malmstrom AFB. Great Falls Montana. I went to Great Falls High, Go Bison !, and eventually volunteered for the Army during Vietnam. I recognized so much of this area...truly my old stomping grounds.
Outstanding. Thank You for sharing your talents and skills with us!🎉
Thank you for sharing. But most of all, THANK YOU for your service to the country I love!
Thank you for this series of videos. Well done!!
❤️ thank you!
Another great video! Great you will help another farmer tomorrow! It must be great to meet this family again after so many years! I looked at the map, but it's quite a drive to Chester! So I guess you will start again at day 1!
The photos of Katie and Nick are really fantastic, I also took a look at their channel, thanks for the link! Well have a safe trip to Chester! Greetings to you and Jim!
Yep, today will be day 1 all over again.
Tracy,
Thank you for all the videos of the Bahnmiller harvest!
I grew up in the Box Elder area( north of Big Sandy). I know the Bahnmiller and Danreuther families well.
I bought grain trailer from Dennis in the 90’s.
Watching seeding and harvest videos has been very rewarding to me. It fills an emptiness in me that I have had since leaving farming in 2003.
This makes my heart so happy to hear! I’m so glad you have been a part of the 2023 harvest!
Congratulations guys, I’m sure you have opened the door for next year. Be safe
I hope we can get back next year! Thank you.
Great video an pictures an family.

I’m now watching today’s video from my combine seat up in Alberta 😁.
Best place to be!!❤️
Just a great job of filming and narrating as always. Hopefully many “city folk” will view this series and get a feel for the size and scope of agricultural in this great nation we have . Let’s hope and pray that we can hang on to it for the generations coming behind us.
The reason I am trying to tell the story!!!
Truly amazing what you guys are doing!! Keep it up!! Again I can't believe the acres you can do with those combines!!!
❤️👍🏻
Congratulations on a successful and safe harvest !!!!
Thank you!!❤️
Great videos. What an experience.
It truly was!
I have been all over the world during my military service, and I can honestly say Tracy there is nowhere more beautiful than Montana wheat country! Thanks for letting all of us follow along. Great Job!!

Wow 🤩 ❤ What a beautiful ending. I’m going to miss this…………….until next year 🙏👍
❤️
Tracy
Each of the pictures in the "highlights" was a million $ picture!
The 2 million $ picture was Jim with the youngest grain farmer in the cab with him-- --what a smile on both of their faces!
Great job on each video of your new adventures!
Are you bringing Jesse James along to your next location?
I suspect you are missing all that cooking already.....lol!
Thanks for your kind words!
No, Jessie won’t be coming with us. She’s headed to CA for her first year of college.

I recall my summer in 1952. Army after for 3 years. Now just enjoying my 90's. God Bless.
Thanks for sharing! And THANK YOU for your years of service! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Good wrap up of that harvest
👍🏻
I went on wheat harvest in 1994 with a family from my home town and we ended our wheat year in Chester Montana. I can remember it like it was yesterday.
Hope you had a wonderful harvest experience!
Thank you for another summer of Harvest videos Tracy.
I read in the Calgary Herald that the Canadian harvest has now started.
Calgary
Thank you for taking us along with you on this trip. Looking for the next phase of this trip and fall harvest back home.
😊
Fantastic!
Thanks Tracey
Thank you!!!
Truly a great way to finish Highwood Harvest, a sincere thanks for all your efforts with the videos, great news that your moving on to help with another Harvest as I thought we may have to find a new quiz every day because at the moment we try and guess how many words Jim will utter each evening. Words of wisdom though.
🤣
Enjoy your site I am from Chinook and back in 1965 helped with in Rudyard and Chester
So you know exactly where we are. And where we’re headed!
Tracy....Small World!! In 1965, I went to Chester, Montana to drive combine....farmer last name was Kolstad....believe he became a Montana Elected congressman...Hope to see your videos of Chester...Thanks for including us in your lives.

❤️
Awesome job on the editing! Love those sunset pictures! Safe travels to your next destination!
Thanks so much!!
Thank you ...
You’re very welcome!
Kind of sad to see you're done. I'm sure the Bahnmiller's are glad to be done. I'm sure it was a long grind for them but it had to be a memorable one with outstanding yields, good weather and hardly any major breakdowns. Congratulations to them and you and Jim too! Well done! 👍👍👍
I think the entire team would agree that it was a great time! Long days but we all worked together so well.
Just the best video series
😊❤️
Thank you so much!
Nice one Tracy
Some beautiful memories captured there. It will be hard to top that experience but sure that's what we thought last year.
