I always have a powerbank on me all the time. As you turn the camera of I put the cable in. And I don’t care about the heat of the camera. At this amount of weddings I would buy just one or two batteries more so I can get easily through the wedding. The other thing I do is, the charger is connected to a powerbank and this is in the slingshot bag or near the DJ. So anything is attached to the wall and if I leave I only have to focus on the bag. But the saving tips are useful if you run out of everything and you need that last shot. . Nice video and nice collar too. Cheers Peter
Thanks Peter for some of your thoughts and tips here. Nice idea on the power bank, I could very easily have this in a sling bag. Hope you’ve been well this holiday week!
This is a good video on extending the battery on the M11. For less intensive shooting(i.e., not a wedding), my M11 delivers excellent battery life, but I get it; the files are so lovely. Thanks for the in-depth review.
Totally, I know the battery is a huge leap of improvement from previous versions. I know it's ultimately not meant for hours and hours of live view shooting but such is life! Thanks so much for checking it out!
Valuable information, with the amount of use you put your M11 through we can benefit from your experience. Your rockin' that Camp Counsellor look very well! LoL 🙂Thanks
I am a wealth of knowledge using the camera ! It really has been great for me, hoping to share even more in coming weeks. Thanks for the encouragement on this look ;p
Live view is such a convenient and tempting feature to use! Fortunately my M262 doesn't give me that option, that indeed makes a huge difference on battery life. Two things I do is disabling auto-review and setting auto power off after 2 minutes - once you half-press the shutter it turns back on.
I can imagine you get so much life on your battery with the m262! What a test to the dedication of ‘keeping it real’. Major props. Great tips on disabling the auto review !
Great videos! I'm curious about your settings for Weddings. Do you often shoot wide open at f1.4? Do you use an ND filter or is the M11 able to cater for the f1.4 with a high shutter speed? What about on film? Would you use a filter? Keep up the amazing work!
Hi Shane! I’ll work up a video about settings specifically for weddings, I do have patterns lol! Mainly wide open though, I particularly love playing wide open in the sun! No ND filter and I know that’s not common
@@teribphotography Actually, these slimmer M10 batteries are worse than the the 240-series’ batteries. When my M10 had to go to NJ for repair, after a mishap, I bought a pre-owned M Type 246 Monochrom, so, I care for and feed both types.
I have the VisoFlex2 EVF. I’d bet using it alone (w/o the rear LCD screen) would increase battery life. It’s not as minimalist as using the rangefinder only, but focus can be more accurate.
@ I love your work it’s amazing beautiful. I don’t do weddings lol but will do portraits and do events I have SF60 but you it doesn’t fire fast as my my finger but sure is good So I use now is a profoto a2 with a Leica trigger . For my Qs and for SL same I do have also a godox c1 pro .
Teri, how many shots are you taking in a day? I find I can through a day of heavy shooting with 2 and have some battery left. Visoflex usage obviously creates an exception.
On an 8 hour day, about 2500+ images, sometimes more but that's about average. Once the battery dips below 30% I try to switch out, just due to the nature of wedding days and timing.
@ i would love to see an EVF version or something done about the ovf. When wearing glasses it pretty much only works for 50mm, so would love to be able to not have to wear lenses. Especially since the EVF on the q3 is so nice.
Your 50 Lux looks nice. I have the newest version (with close focusing) and love it, but I’d like to check out vintage versions. I have the 50 mm f/1 and f/1.2 Noctilux lenses, but they don’t look like a Summilux even at ~ f/1.4 or f/2.
What do you think about the colors and the problem that the m11 has with magenta cast and white balance as well as skin tones it seems that the Leica sl2 is much better in the color department
Uh, it’s not a huge deal for me and honestly something I can’t say I even notice in my editing. Lightroom is pretty solid fixing any white balance issues :) SL2 has always felt so bulky but I know it can be a personal decision on camera size!
I find it hard to stomach if you are pro you have to worry about using live view... Because of the battery life. Given the price and target group of photographers I'd expect Leica to cater for it. That is the benefit of owning a m240... Battery lige
Hi Paul! Totally. The LV feels essential to help me compose at a very fast pace for weddings so being limited there feels criminal for sure. Thanks for the push to get out my m240, i love that camera!

I like the braising on the filter you have there! Which one is it if I may ask. I also have the 50 Lux BC
I have a vintage 50 lux, I believe its type 1 - very well loved :) which do you carry?
@ I have the 50 Lux ASPH Black Chrome edition

@@teribphotography Thanks so much! A video about your settings would be awesome! Keep up the great work!
For live view, turning the brightness down to what you can minimally tolerate might also help.
ah, GREAT tip! Thanks so much :)
Useful tips. Well-done!
M10 users have worse battery life, to deal with. I have accumulated a small herd of M10 batteries.
haha! My m240 I had three batteries as well, tough to get around it

Would you consider a Visioflex 2 for an EVF? ...I find it helpful especially with focus peaking, not for everyone I suppose.
I'm open to it, I think I just use what's available and easy since I have lots to keep together when I;m in the thick of it!
I have the VisoFlex2 EVF. I’d bet using it alone (w/o the rear LCD screen) would increase battery life. It’s not as minimalist as using the rangefinder only, but focus can be more accurate.
on indoor situations do you use flash on your M11 ? I personally use flash with my Qs or SLs
I use my SF40 flash, it's truly wonderful and the batteries lasted me almost my entire season! Do you like the look?

@@teribphotography got it. That’s quite a bit. Makes sense
What's on your wishlist for the m12? There's rumors of an EVF.
Great question - I'd love a double exposure mode more than anything! WHat about you?

Why don’t you bring a battery bank? I’m looking at an m11 specifically for its USB-C and ditching bringing the charger when traveling.
I don’t like the bulk of battery banks, I really try to stay minimal when I’m on the road! Might reconsider bc that is a good idea since it’s USBC
Do you use 50mm for weddings?
I do! It's my favorite lens!

Hey Teri, how’s the noise on a Leica?
Hi hi! Noise on the shutter? It’s never bothered me, I think it’s a very subtle shutter.
best sounding shutter on any camera. very satisfying click
Can’t Leica make a bigger capacity battery in a battery grip? They use to make motor drives for their film cameras.
Not sure! I use the setup just as is so it's not too bulky for me - I'm so anxious to start using more toys on my MP!
There are optional multifunctional battery handgrips for the SL2 and SL3. I don’t think Leica makes one for the M11.
