I've got over 200 airplanes in 2020 and from what I understand hardly any of them are ready to transfer over to 2024 and it runs like crap Long live 2020
The biggest issue is that Asobo pledged a TEN YEAR ongoing development cycle to constantly improve FS2020. But that clearly has been abandoned now in favour of a new sim which generates all over again the cash receipts. Even that would be ok if FS2024 was more than a Beta. We should all expect bugs but a lot of FS2024 has design changes (Control configurations, graphics menus, and pointless other changes for the sake of "new" but to no purpose) and overheated CPUs when running anything bigger than a simple GA aircraft. Though FS2020 had plenty of bugs FS2024 has multiple problems that are going to take longer than a year to sort out.
I am still using 2020. None of my aircraft work in 24, among other things. Patiently waiting. I purchased the premium deluxe. But, I’m not sure it was ready for prime time.
Very frustrating mess 😢. I’m getting my money,s worth. People need to post every issue on the MSFS forum to get our frustration out and hope they fix soon
Can't imagine anyone disagreeing with you. You're right. This is disgraceful and MS /Asobo should be ashamed of themselves. These people don't mind being lied to as long as the sim looks pretty. Nevermind that it is incomplete and unstable. And they'll keep getting away with it. They don't care about a faithful customer base. They're no different than Nvidia. They know as long as the sim looks pretty, people will buy. That's what MSFS has turned into. This is all sickening!
First….im using 2024. Its a challenge sometimes, but I am using it. With that said, MS also said “most, if not all, addon aircraft and airports” would work in new sim. Nope….not even close
Some PC specs would be nice - I think in order to give meaningful feedback it's important to first understand what hardware you using (besides the controllers). Right off the bat however I can give you a few tips, render scaling should not be set higher than 100% (can be but there are refresh rates and VRAM considerations to be made) - AMD fidelity sharpening - set this somewhere between 50 and 70. Frame Rate limiter (100% monitor refresh rate) basically means if your monitor refresh rate is 60 then that will be your frame limiter, don't worry about this - just disable dynamic settings . Set your Global Rendering Quality to HIGH and then expand the selection and change the following values: Terrain Level of Detail: 100, Object Level of Detail 100, Texture Resolution: Medium Terrain Shadows: 1024 and deactivate the option Raytraced Shadows - the rest can stay on high, use this as a base and test again.
Even though it loads now after taking 2 weeks to load the first time, this is the biggest fail of any games launch. The silly bugs still in this title should have been sorted. It almost looks as though Asobo didn't learn anything from 2020, or maybe they had their heads in the sand. I just don't understand why playtesters miss what we notice within 5 minutes.
What is disappointing is all the great aircraft I had in 2020, paid with my hard earned money, are not compatible as was promised by Asobo, it was, in most cases, going to be a smooth transition. Not so at all so I really have no option but to go back to 2020
Hi William Well never thought I'd see you on 2024 Just like to say the ifly 737 max will have a free update to 2024 when its ready. The ifly is a great plane maybe a bit better than the pmdg..,
This game considering it is a gamepass game is absolutely shocking on Xbox Series X, every other plane looks like a distorted shape and the only thing that loads is runway and taxiways, cant change graphics levels either
Really it’s sad, because their old version 2020 is a better version. I’m trying my best to stick with it, but it’s hard. The improvements, in my opinion, are so slow. I was very disappointed, and still am, trying to work through the issues.
yes this is for a high end computer thats my take on it. it should not have been released on xbox as its just not good enough to cope with this game...even 2020 it boms out every now and then. instruments just go black but its way better than 2024. ive had so far had such a bad experience that i have uninstalled it. it should be on PC only
Dont feel so bad, I refunded it twice and im thinking of a third time ;) , like most of us I really wanted it to work and thought it had been fixed , anyway good luck back to 2020 for me.
Sorry but MSFS2024 will take years to fix to the promised and advertised level. That is the thruth. No matter what so called content creators will tell you.
I found button assignments very easy compared to 2020 but when restarted the sim some of them didn't work and had to be done again. As you say if you have 2020 don't go near this sim for a good time to come I got a refund.
This situation has been brought about by, you guest it, MONEY. Incidentally, what has been written here, explains exactly why simmers are in the position they are.
Aviation enthusiasts vary from pilots to ATC, ground service personnel, remote control aircraft hobbyists, airplane spotters/watchers, airplane model builders, etc. All will be using MSFS (and other simulators) to enjoy the aspect/s they like. Not all users will be spending time inside the cockpit. In FSX, I used to love flying different fighter jets just like an RC plane. Use the tower view to watch them fly around and do acrobatics & airshows. Also watch other players as they fly around. Sadly, MSFS20 and MSFS24 both failed to incorporate a quick and easy way to have a tower view. I like the environment in MSFS24, the airports, the airplanes, GS equipment and personnel all look nice, but unfortunately, this beautiful and realistic view is destroyed once these elements start to move and interact with each other. While in real life, those elements move in an almost orchestrated way, in MSFS24 it is utter chaos.
For a huge corporate company what they did to millions of faithful flight sim customers is a disgrace! Even something simple like using custom callsigns is broken! Also using the ai copilot to do take control of atc radio's is broken. If you use AI ATC you can't do a VFR flight as your copilot keeps requesting IFR, and if you cancel IFR, the co-pilot doesn't let you. When I sent in a support ticket they said this is not a priority as it's not game breaking? Yes it is, as it's preventing users from using these features. Basically, We have all paid a lot of money to Beta Test a unfinished, work in progress piece of software! MS/Asobo is a money grabbing disgrace!
If you don't have MSFS2020 and you want to get into flight simulation get 2024 despite its bugs. It is only going to get better and more stable. I like to fly around and look at scenery. With 2024, I can get out of the plane and walk around the Sphinx and Khufu Pyramid.
these last patches have fixed nothing to do with what makes this sim playable or enjoyable. Flight models are terrible. ATC disappears or gives dangerous or cotrary instructions. Error detection is abominable, pilots get penalised for stuff we shouldnt. You can land well but suffer dreadful penalties. Company mode is terrible, unless you fly every day you lose money: thats a job not a game. The EFB does not sync with the planner.flightsimulator web... you can save a flight plan but you cannot load it or reset it on the efb if you are trying a mission. Rolling cache completely broken; it is set to 0.0 if you try and change it the sim says 'done 100%' but just hangs= Ctrl, Alt Delete... £200 wasted!
HAHAHA! I finally found yet another very angry UA-camr against the disasterous launch of FS24~! Whos the other YT'er? Zeroblog in the U.K. His anger is how it is has been terrible for his X. You two should hook up for a multiflight! haha
I like what you mentioned in the video. I am engineer in industry and with the recent mindset in parts of the gaming industry we would have lost all customers. Seems it is expected that gaming customers accept to have the product finished after delivery. Yes, there are a bunch of things not good, especially in the career mode where you spawn in trees and break the plane once you move or weird ATC. But I also think that it happens sometimes on social media people want to draw attention by complaining (see the toxic comments on MSFS FB forum). Further some issues seen might be also pure gameplay. If you dont repair the planes constantly in career mode certain things will not work anymore properly. The game wont show it and therefore it will only be obvious if you can see it (like my navigation system broke down in flight and display stayed off). Other parts getting broken might just cause the plane to crash. It would be good to see a reason for a crash at the end (parts broken or bad skills (I surely have aswell)). Anyhow, this is my first flight simulator (except an hour back in win95 times) and beside all issues, I enjoy my time. Played other games being worse might have made me a bit immune or it is my age... lol. Anyhow I wish all a Merry Christmas and get well into 2025! Remember there are so many things more important in life, something you learn with age.
I couldn't agree with you more, but I can only put blame on myself and the flight sim community for prematurely purchasing an unfinished product. There is strength in numbers! I waited to purchase MSFS 2020 and look and behold I purchased a working almost complete product. Unfortunately impulse got the better of me when I preordered MSFS 2024. I really feel if the majority of flight simmers would've waited until this product was finished, then perhaps Asobo & MS would've been under more pressure to release a more complete product. For me this simulator is still to this day a mess.Even after the recent updates and my reinstall of the simulator. I have a high end PC running a RTX 4090. The game still freezes many of the jetliners are broken where pushback doesn't work. The AI ground traffic is horrific. Where jetliners randomly appear and disappear right in front of you. Some jetliners even give birth to other airplanes!! I've also seen jetliners spinning near their jetways. Talk about an immersion breaker. I've been flight simming for a very long time. For now I'm sticking with Xplane12 and MSFS 2020 perhaps within a year this will be a better simulator.
@@FN38431 I understand this. From time to time also seen planes turning upside down on the ground like bugs that landed on their wings. Not really immersive, and sometimes looks more like a comedy. Another german youtuber had an issue with a rescue mission dragging a poor guy over the ground. It was hilarious as he felt so sorry for him. For people not having much experience it is sometimes hard to tell if it is something that was done wrong or if it is a real bug. Still I think over time they will get it right and we will have the fun we deserve. I hope they will learn from it. Guess the constellation of MS, Asobo and the teams providing the planes also caused some issues. Many different parties all under pressure for a deadline. Could be that MS insisted on the date, who knows. At least it is visible that the strict rules in avionic industry was not applied here. Maybe something for them to consider in future... Good save flying and have fun whatever version you will use!
I only installed the game for the campaign. But you are forced to go to unknown airports, to unlock the world. Some of which have trees in the taxiway, while some are a grass field and have 0 markings. Sometimes the speed is stuck, which causes me to stall, sometimes the wheels break and I can't start (after skipping to runway). It's unplayable at this point. I have 64Gb DDR5 RAM, Ryzen 7950x3d and a 4090. Playing in 4k, the game would run normally for the most part, but after 1-2 missions the fps drop every few seconds and it becomes unplayable. I'm glad I got the gamepass and didn't pay 150€ for it. Going back to the 2020 version until the game is playable. I agree with you, this is inexcusable.
Flight simulating should be fun and entertaining..like fishing or hunting.. #1 turn it on pour a cup of coffee..and after a few minutes.. Wallah!... you're flying!!! That's what it's all about... GO FLY!! ENJOY!!! 🐦 ❤ ✈️
A little bit of advice to those complaing about 2024, stop downloading free porn it screws up your computer, fs2024 ran like butter on day one for me both in 2d and vr on ultra
My biggest gripe is the lack of honest feedback from Asobo/Microsoft on the huge stack of issues and what's being done to fix them.
2020 will stay my go-to sim as it has all my study level Boieings.. Can sit on this for a while and let it cook a bit longer.
