Congratulations!!
Congratulations
Can you guide me on this path , is medical coding worth it
Congratulations I hope school is going well for you! 🎉
This is my last month in school! Ironically i ended up landing a banking job but the moment a Healthcare job wants me I'm ready ! The Business communicating and HR classes within the curriculum helped me a lot! Good luck to any new students !
Hi! I am a rising high school senior and I just wanted to say thank you for your insightful videos into this field of healthcare. To be honest, I always wanted to go to medical school and become a doctor, but I now realize that there are non-clinical opportunities that are just as rewarding. Thank you so much.
I am so glad I found your channel. You are giving us Healthcare professionals amazing information. Thank you!
I’m currently getting my associates degree in healthcare administration and this video definitely helped give me some encouragement to continue on with my degree. You for sure have a new subscriber, keep going girl!🫶🏽🥰
Me to good luck I’m inspired
I am sooooo glad that you popped up on my tik tok feed 🙌🏽. This video was so helpful! I also work for a health insurance company and will be graduating with my MHA next spring… i started out as a CSR and now I’m a Care associate on the clinical operations team, so I have experience with many EMR softwares, managed care . I think my biggest hurdle is that I feel extremely under qualified when im applying for jobs, and struggle with selling myself during interviews.
You glow girl! Love seeing black women in healthcare. I started my MHA 3 years ago and I’m considering going back but I’m an entrepreneur ❤️
Rewatching because this information is so underrated! You’re so informative thank you!
Hey Mahirah! Yasss! I'm working on some new HA content for y'all! Stay tuned.
Hi. I’m so glad I found your channel. I just started online school for my bachelors in Healthcare Administration, I definitely want to grow in the revenue cycle world. Thank you for this video
So glad I found your video!! I’m planning to go to grad school this fall for my masters in MHA! It’s really hard to find videos or anything really on the internet for this career. Thank you ☺️
Found your channel today. Thank you so much for shining a light on the army that keeps healthcare institutions afloat.
Hi Simone! It's nice to meet you. Yes ma'am, it's my pleasure.
I am so happy to have come across your page and this video! I recently graduated undergrad with a BA in public health / sustainability (business school), and now I am looking to pursue an MHA fall 2024. I love your videos and can't wait to learn more from a fellow Black woman health professional!
So glad I found your channel. About to start my MBA in healthcare administration program soon and appreciate your perspective.
Hi Bree! I'm happy you're here! Sending you good vibes and many blessings on your graduate school journey and future endeavors. Thanks for watching!
Hi Courtney! My name is Eryn and I'm currently in school working towards getting my MHA. Thanks for making this video - there is so little information out there about the diff jobs you can get with this degree so I deeply appreciate you making this video
I'm so glad that I found your channel. I've wanted to get a closer look into this career since I received my MBA in 2016. Thank You.
I'm happy you're here!
Your videos have been helping me tremendously. I’m in grad school obtaining my MHA and work full time as a Work Force Manager. Idk which way to move forward, but your page is helping me navigate thank you!!
Hi Timothy! It's nice to meet you. I'm so glad to hear that you're finding my content informative. Sending you many blessings!
I am so excited to find your page. I currently hold a Bachelors in Business Administration. I’m currently completing my Masters in Health Administration and Masters in Business Administration in 2022. I’m so excited for this knowledge you are passing on.
Thank you for sharing! I just found your page today and it has given me motivation to complete my application. Currently applying for a masters in healthcare administration to hopefully start in June!
Yasss! You got this!
Love your video! Currently working on my healthcare technology associates degree and have been wondering where to even start when I’m all finished. My main goal though would be to get into Healthcare Project Management, so the next steps would be Bachelors and beyond. But I did find this video super helpful and give me somewhat of idea of what to look for.
Wawoo! So educative, I am highly moved with your presentation. Keep up the good work!
I currently work in healthcare as an administrative assistant and I am looking into finishing my degree in Business administration, I’m so happy I found your channel, this has given me the push I need to complete my degree. I love working in healthcare and can’t wait to continue growing in my career.
Hi Deanna! It's nice to meet you. I'm so glad that you find my content informative. Sending you many blessings on your education and career journey!
Hi Deanna how did you get a job without any experience? I have done MBA in health services management but i am hired no where as i have no work experience . J am disappointed
How much is your salary
Thank you so much for sharing this. It has open my eyes on being able to see what it out there health administration. I appreciate it.
Thank You, Going for my RHIA and needed to hear more about something other that coding as stated.
Hi! Great video! I work in revenue cycle in a hospital I started out as a registration rep patient access (registration) and worked my way up into a Director position before transitioning to corporate revenue cycle where I am a corporate Director today. I don’t know about sharing my salary but let’s just say that I have been very successful in my career and the base pay is about 115k (hospital director with experience) and I work for an organization who provides bonuses so it is a great career option revenue cycle is and you’re right you do not have to start out with a degree but to progress a degree is a requirement starting out at the manager role for the career path that I just described. I have a BS in MGMT with an AOE in SHRM and an MBA
Yasss! I love to hear it. Rev cycle is my absolute fave! Keep shining sis!
That's awesome! Which positions did you hold between patient access and director. Would love to know more about how you got there
what are the acronyms AOE and SHRM
Also what skills do i need to land into a Revenue Cycle type of position?
HEEEEEELLLLPPP!!! I'm having such a difficult time getting an entry-level position. But i'm doing this as a career change without a degree yet. I just started a BS Health Administration program 6 months ago. I hope I can make it to your level one day.
Thanks for the video. I especially appreciated the segment HIT and HIM AT 4:15. I'm an MSHI (Master of Science in Health Informatics) second-semester student at MUSC breaking into Health Care Tech after a 22-year career in public school education. My favorite sectors so far in this program have been learning the importance of Data Analytics. The MSHI program provides an intro to various database/coding software such as Python, R, and SQL, which are critical in various health information technology jobs, (but also not required). I subscribed to your channel and liked the video! I look forward to supporting and following your page.
Thank you for sharing! I'm looking into getting a Master's in Health Informatics as well, but not sure yet. Were there certain programs or classes that you needed before starting? I have my Bachelor's in Writing, so not much of a tech background but am interested in the job and learning Data Analysis/Health Informatics
Currently finishing up my MBA in Healthcare Management and Business Analytics so this video was very helpful!
Came across this channel and it has been soooo helpful!!! 🎉🎉
Thank you Courtney for sharing this information! I am currently in a MHA at Drexel University and this is really helpful!
Hi Lavonne! I'm so glad you found the video informative. Sending you many blessings on your education and career journey!
I’m so happy I found your channel!!
Yay! Me too! 🤗🤗🤗
I’m so happy I came across your YT channel!! I’m mean... when I say I’m happy, I’m extremely elated! There aren’t many videos, which I find odd. I just finished my last course in getting my Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration. I want to further my education and get my master’s in either Public Health or Healthcare Administration.I’ve been doing research to figure out which one I plan to choose. Thanks for all the info you provided in this video 😊
Hi Tiara,
I'm extremely elated that you found my channel too! Woohooo to you for finishing up your last class! How exciting?! I would love to know which program you ultimately decide on. You can't lose either way. Sending many blessings your way! ☺️
Hi Tiara what school did you attend
Awesome information ! Graduating in two months with my MHA!!! Super excited. 6 years in HIT/Informatics space and was an LMS Administrator. Ready for a change! C-suite me please lol. I’m just not clinical though I know Epic and other EHRs. Just not sure where to start!
Thank you so much. I am currently pursuing a MBA with a healthcare administration concentration. I hoping to find a career by lacking experience. You gave me inspiration. Thank you!
Best of luck to you!!
Thank you. This video cleared the clouds in my head on how to build a career in health administration
So glad to hear that! Thanks for watching!
Love. Thanks queen. You can definitely teach!!!
Hi Courtney! I have worked in the healthcare field for 20 years now. I’ve done nursing/medicine aide for 10 years, administrative asst/ billing clerk for 8 years and now a cook in nursing home. I am now 51 and want to go back to school to get my BA in healthcare admin. Thank you so much for this informative video.
I don't have any experience in healthcare, but I started a BS in Health Administration, and I love it. I'm late in my career and wish i had started sooner so I could get the same amount of experience as you. I'm doing mine with University of Phoenix if you are looking for options.
Hey Courtney! I'm currently attending Johns Hopkins University and pursuing an MBA. I'm excited to watch your content!
Hi Cesar! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! Stay tuned for more.
Sending you many blessings and positivity while you pursue your MBA at Johns Hopkins University! I definitely lean on the knowledge I gained in my MBA program more than my MHA!
Best,
Courtney Sharea
Wow, very well presented. More power to you lady.
Hi Courtney! I’m so happy I found your channel! I was wondering where did you start out before you got to where you were? I recently graduated with my Biology degree and I thought I wanted to be a teacher but I have realized that this isn’t what I want to do. I am currently searching for medical receptionist/admin assistant jobs to get some experience. I am also looking into a masters in health care administration. I LOVE ADMINISTRATIVE WORK! 😂 Call me weird but I love working in an office. I found this video so helpful! Thank you!
Hi Kristina! It's so nice to meet you!
Healthcare admin is a vast field and if you LOVE admin work, you'll enjoy everything about it! lol
So glad to get to know more
Thank you very much for your motivation and inspirational presentation! I'm presently pursuing MBA Hospital Administration and Health Care Management.
Thank you so much for this video! I currently have my masters in health administration and community health. I find it so hard navigating through my career as a new grad (May 2021). I’m looking to apply for a practice administration position within my current company( currently working as a incentive program coordinator)! I’m not sure how to negotiate my salary being that i don’t have any management experience! You def got a new subscriber! You’re so inspirational ❤️
Hello, I am new to your page. I just recently graduated with my BHSA. This video is helpful and informative. I'm going start doing this right away. It been hard for me to get in the field.
This video was extremely helpful I work for one of the top 5 health insurance companies as well but I’m looking to take a leap of faith and see what else is out there! I’ve been here for 15 years and I’m ready to fly!
Fly girl, fly!! I’m sure you’re a wealth of knowledge after 15 years. You should be able to transition into another sector seamlessly. Let me know how things go when you start looking!
Thanks for your vds. They are so informative. Yes, I am going back to get my MBA healthcare management. I am also trying to leverage my previous skills as auditor/accounting jobs to puto my feet in any entry legal job. My bachelor degree was Supervision and Management. I really hope i find those amazing opportunities.
Thank you. I appreciate this Information. I needed this. Thank you.
Omg I am thrilled to find your channel they never discuss HIM careers I am currently studying for the RHIA!!!!!!!!!
Hi Cruise Newbie! I'm so happy you found my channel too! Sending many blessings your way as you prepare to take the RHIA!
A trick: watch series on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Lyle Leland yup, I have been watching on flixzone} for since december myself =)
Hey please let me know the details of HIM course from where did u complete ur studies it's duration?
Hi how many years it take for Health Information Management because I received course course through mail for 18 months
Thank you for these videos, I’m graduating this December with my MHA and looking to transition into a different role
Congrats on your upcoming graduation!
@@CourtneySharea Thank you just having a hard time finding my niche and where to apply
You’re approach and demeanor is professional and personable
☺️☺️
Your video was very informative! Thank you.
Hi! Amazing video. I just graduated with B.S healthcare Administration. I am having difficulty breaking into healthcare, however I am now considering getting a post baccalaureate in HIM and get the RHIA certification. Your video helped me!
Hi Javier! it's nice to meet you. I'm sorry to hear that you're having challenges getting into this field. Keep applying! And remember to tailor your resume to each job you apply to. Check the below video out for more tips and ideas when you get a moment. Thanks for watching!

Hey, I have a Bachelors in Microbiology from India. And i plan on moving abroad to get a Masters in Public health. Your video was really helpful in showing me what other options i have. Thank you so much.
I’m a medical assistant and I just completed my associates degree in healthcare management. I’m not having any luck here in Houston Texas so I decided to roll my degree into the bachelors degree. I’m currently working at a nursing home facility and I hope I can advance into management one day
Very informative! Thank you!
it's just a coincidence that your video popped up and I'm in school for my master's in health administration, and graduation is next month. Im so excited but it's been very challenging to get an entry-level position when all the jobs I see, I need at least one year of experience. However, I just got hired for the front desk at a neurology office. I guess that's a start.
Hey, I’m so glad I found your page. I’ve earned my degree years ago and have been struggling with finding a career. I have little to no experience and have applied for thousands of jobs over 5+ years.
Hi Y. Washington, I'm so glad you found my page too! I will be discussing entry-level jobs in healthcare administration during a UA-cam live on Wednesday, March 31st at 8:30PM. I hope you're able to join! Thank you!
Great, what time zone?

Thank you so much and I am happy that I found u!!!!
Hi Zammy! I’m so happy you’re here!! 🥰
This is so helpful currently researching degrees.
I’m glad you found it helpful!!
Thank you for sharing about HIM.
You popped up on my Tiktok for you page. I am thankful to have found you. I have been discouraged because I did not know how to navigate the healthcare administrative path
Hey Lindsay! Don't be discouraged. Keep pushing and keep applying! Sending positive vibes your way!
This video is very informative😍😍😍. God bless you. You gained a subscriber.
This was a great video. I have my MBA-HA and BSN-RN so I’m trying to figure out what to do with both.
This was so helpful! I’m currently a therapist looking with a masters in healthcare admin looking to transition into a more stable field. This video has been very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
I’m currently working as a respiratory therapist, yet already thinking doing my master coz I don’t think I will enjoy patient care that long 😊
Thank you for your video 😊
I have been interested in getting a degree in Health Information Management & I'm so happy to see I'm not the only one 💯
Hello how is HIM?
hey courtney! just started watching your videos, and its been really helping me out navigating this whole thing. I am a junior in my undergrad, and im studying community health with minors in spanish and sociology. i started learning about this career and started getting interested in it, but honestly a little afraid that my major wont be good enough for a big job like this. I dont know much about administration, but im willing to learn. Do you think community health would fit in the healthcare administration field?
Loved this ❤
Hi! Thank goodness I found your channel 😊
Any suggestions on the topic of “Moving Up” ?
I have my bachelors degree in Health Sciences but no one wants to pay. I e been told I’m asking to much when requesting anything over $18/hour!
I feel like I’m stuck in the patient registration realm. I’m either under qualified for management or over qualified for entry-level.
It’s becoming frustrating. I’m in school now getting my MHA. 😩
As a young girl a senior in high school I love this it really gave me hope to choose this as a major when I graduate ❤️.
Right !! I want to make money outside of college
@@haleydavidson7693 factsss
Hello Courtney, I am so happy to find you. i have an MBA in healthcare administration but finding a job is so hard, even entry level they always telling me i do not have experience. i am thinking on getting trained in medical billing hopefully i can find something.
I have my MHA and currently working in an entry level job in patient access at an imaging center. I’m trying to find the right job so this is very helpful
I'm so glad you found this info helpful!
Watched 2x thank you for the information
Love your video… any advice on places I can go online to get certifications and which ones do you recommend for a person like me with a BA in healthcare admin ?
Loved the video!
Hi Charity! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
I am an administrative professional too. Thanks for this info
I wanted a dual degree too ! But MPH, MBA. Unfortunately, my current university doesn’t have that option so I was thinking of getting the MBA certificate
Hi! I love your videos and definitely subscribe. I will be graduating with a Healthcare Management focus in administration. Just curious where and how do I start my career? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Awesome video. I’m seriously thinking of going the non clinical route to add to my Associates in Nursing. A Bachelors in Healthcare Information Management sounds much better for me personally than a Bachelors in the Science of Nursing. Just saying. 😇
This is exactly what I’ll be doing. Associates in nursing and bachelors in healthcare administration
Came all the way from TikTok. Saw your video and I thought it was a sign. I received my bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration in 2012 and at the time I was just looking for a job. Got me a job but don’t practice healthcare at all. I’m more in the social work field but I miss the whole management and have been in this company for 9 years also! Want to move on but im afraid of starting over since I lack experience in healthcare administration. Love finance, budgeting, process improvement, etc. Don’t know where to start. Guidance would be appreciated! TÍA
Hi Nayla! I'm glad you're here. Sounds like you would be great in healthcare finance, process improvement , or even revenue cycle management. Check out the below videos to give you more info:

I have my MHA with a concentration in informatics. I have struggled on finding a job in this market as a black woman. The tips you are providing gives me a more hop that I can land something .
@Daniel Perez Thank you for that reassurance!
Hi Courtney, Awesome video, I just received my MHA. Looking to get involved in healthcare administration. What's the best way to start? Thank you so much!
Hey Courtney
I’m new to your channel and I’m going to school for health admin. I currently work in health care as patient transport coordinator and looking to switch gears once I obtain my bachelors degree in 1-2 years.
Thank you! I am currently a junior double majoring in public health and healthcare administration and I really want to start looking for job opportunities post graduation. I’m unsure on where I specifically want to go, but I will look out for your videos to gain more knowledge and insight 😊
Hi Savanna, Thanks for subscribing! I hope that the info I share is valuable and helps you to navigate the healthcare admin job market. Sending you many blessings and positivity on your education journey!
@@CourtneySharea Thank you, that means a lot
I have my Masters in Health care Administration and girllll when I telll you it is soo hard to get hired in an administration role … and I have over 4yrs experience in healthcare .. so. Gladd I found your videoo because didnt know what else I need to do… seems I keep getting denied after next
Thanks I enjoyed watching. My name is Ronke, I have bachelors degree in accounting, relationship management experience in financial institution before I worked as a practice manager in a cardiovascular centre. I decided to continue in the Healthcare administration line. In the process of doing a MHA to increase my knowledge and be more productive as Healthcare administrator. I need your advice if I am heading in the right direction in building my career in Healthcare administration.
Hi, I am currently a student at the university of Houston, majoring in healthcare administrations. Your videos are super helpful and I truly appreciate you taking the time to inform so many aspiring healthcare workers of what to expect. Like I said I am a first year student so you can imagine the amount of questions I have for you. In your opinion what steps should I be taking I order to better prepare my self and gain an upper hand in the growing field of healthcare administrations?
Thank you,
Christine Ajilore
Hey Im from toronto Im in gr 12 and I want to major in health administration. I dont know if I will enjoy the degree can you please tell me what you do, what the degree is like, assignements, is the dgeree stressful, more info the better plz thanks
I thoroughly enjoyed your video and watched it during the pandemic but was concerned about working in a health facility of any sort due to Covid. Now, I really do not want to hold off on pursuing my goals. I have a tech background currently in the Education industry and would like to know if HIT is still tech based? I know the title itself says technology but I would like to still expand in my tech skills but just in a different industry. I saw an associates degree in HIT and it really looks like something I would be interested in but the salary looked quite low when researching. Can you provide some more insight on the HIT and what may be the best course of action so that I can finally get on the ball with things? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Hi :) When did you go for your mha? Was is mid career, if so what were your motivations ? or did you right after bachelors? Asking cause im considering!
Thank you so much dear ❤
Thanks Courtney.
I just completed my master’s degree in healthcare administration. I’m currently looking for work in the healthcare field.
Hi Reina! Congratulations! How is your job search coming along?
This is what im gonna do. Just finished my AA
@Reina Bella, have you found anything yet?
I just completed my masters as well. I do have knowledge of medical billing and registration. I would love to go in to human resources within the health care industry, but lack the skills in this department. I am also taking leadership courses at the moment. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Here for this!!! Just finished my Masters in Health Administration ♥️ Currently looking for an entry level position to gain experience!!

Hi Courtney, thank you very much. I usually do not comment on videos but because i realized you will actually respond to my comments like you do for others, i will go ahead and ask for my question. I just got accepted into a health services management Bachelor's program and i was worried because i never saw other healthcare choices like healthcare adm, or health information.. Can i still have job with that degree in all the domain just in case? I do have AAS in health information technology and AS in healthcare admin. Thank you and sorry for the long write up. I am also looking for a job just in case someone might referred me. one never knows.
hii! thank you for this video, it was really informative. So, i was hoping if you can help me find opportunities or make me clear if i pursue MHA after my PharmD. Currently i'm in my 5th year and i'm really confused what to do next after completing it or what extra courses i'll have to take up for being competetive enough!!
Hi, my name is Ruth and just came across your video. Glad I did because in need of some help. I have a bachelor's in healthcare management and getting my master's in healthcare Administration. I'm trying to find a job right but don't know which way to go. I'm working right now as a patient care technician. I just can't do the clinical side anymore. Please help! Thanks and love your videos.
Hi! Recent college grad here. So I was a CNA, CMA, & I’m now a Cardiac Monitor Tech with a Bachelors degree in Business Management. I realized that I want to work in the business side of healthcare, but kind of lost where to start. Any tips to catch the management bag would be fantastic!
Consider a position in Healthcare Compliance.
@@vonzelhudson4443 Healthcare compliance sounds so cool. Are you into healthcare compliance, and if yes, can you share your experience or any information on how to get in? Thanks.
Hi Courtney,
I'm new to your page. Sounds like our education is similar. My background has mostly been in nursing with lots of supervision and Management experience.
I have a BS in Business Management 2009 and a Masters in Public Administration with a specialization in healthcare 2013
I'm looking to tap into the PA side a little more now. It will be 10 years since I got my MPA. Do you have any suggestions on entry level positions
Can we get a updated video about health information management 😊 I’m currently in school getting my bachelors for Him now if possible can you go over salaries .
Thank you so much for sharing. I am wondering whether I should choose health information technology or healthcare administration T-T. I am worried about it will be difficult for me to find a job when I finish the college, because I don't know much about them. But your video showed me the career prospects of health administration. Thank you for sharing again! But I am still struggling. . . would you like to give me some suggestions?
Hi Jiaying! It's nice to meet you. It really depends on which career you are most interested in. I may be able to help give my opinion if you ask more pointed questions. Thank you!
I loved this video.. I’m majoring in health studies with a concentration in health services, as well as minoring in leadership studies. I am planning to go to graduate school for healthcare administration or healthcare leadership immediately following my undergrad... would this be enough to go into hospital or practice administration? I know you mentioned some good majors to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in, none of which was health studies, so I’m just curious :)
Hi Cherilyn! It's nice to meet you. A degree in healthcare admin is enough. You may need some experience in the field before getting into a leadership position. Thanks!
Thank you for your helpful information. I have some questions since I’m looking for jobs
I graduated MPH & MBA in 2020 but worked in other field until now. I want to go back to healthcare to seek for long term and potentially moving up position. What job should I focus on searching for? I also have experience in research assistant when I interned at my school.
Thank you for your reply. ❤
