So many great songs from Rod Stewart... "Maggie May" "You wear it well" "Sailing" "I don't want to talk about it" "First cut is the deepest" "Baby Jane" "Rhythm of my heart" etc etc etc 👍💕🏴🇬🇧
Y'all have reacted to so much of his work, it's hard to find a Rod Stewart song y'all haven't heard yet, but here are a few suggestions for the next of his songs y'all should check out: "Baby Jane", "The Killing of Georgie" (this one is a gut-wrenching story about a friend of his), "I Don't Want to Talk About It" , "You're in My Heart", "Sailing", "Downtown Train", "Have I told You Lately", "This Old Heart of Mine", "Handbags & Glad Rags" & his version of "The First Cut is the Deepest". Rod Stewart was born in England, but he is of Scottish heritage (to which he pays tribute with the use of bagpipes in many of his songs).
I saw him with Faces too. Then many many shows thereafter. Never could get enough. I wish they would lusten to more of his early work such as Handbags And Gladrags & around that era.
@jhood758 Sorry I love Rod but I think his voice is not great now. Same with Elton, after seeing his Glastonbury show. Not so with Cat Stevens he still sounds the same as he did years ago. Just my opinion. Reminds me of the Jethro Tull song. "To Old To Rock and Roll"
You guys still need to listen to Maggie May; one of his first, best songs. You Wear It Well; is another great song. Mandolin Wind, Infatuation, The First Cut is the Deepest (which Sheryl Crow would cover many years later), and Sailing are some of his best
Ah Roderick. You always hit the spot.:) He just drips emotion. Rod is Scots. And Stewart is the name of the old Scottish kings. Nothing more Scottish than that.
Although Rod was born and grew up in London, he's adopted Scot and fellow Glasgow Celtic fan. I would suggest his acoustic songs such as You're in my heart, I don't want to talk about it and Maggie May is his best stuff from around the mid 1970s.
Love, love, love Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck’s 1985 collaboration on “People Get Ready” … flipping AH-MAY-ZING. A magical, spiritual song. Written by Curtis Mayfield inn 1963 after the infamous March on Washington.
Amber is spot on with Rod crossing genres because he has proved he can with his Great American Songbook and soon to be foray into Swing. I wish he were still able to sing like this and write the storytelling songs that he’s so good at. He has had such a varied career and I’m sure he’ll continue on, sadly these times are behind him but we still get to enjoy the music he’s made famous. Long live Rod
Rod Stewart had a lot of hits. For some reason his song Passion seems to be forgotten even though it was a top 5 song. Please react to this one as I'm sure you'll both love it based on your past reactions.
“Passion” is one of my favorites from Rod Stewart. It brings up many childhood memories. In the late 90’s, I was lucky enough to see him in concert. He was fantastic and energetic.
Saw Rod Stewart not to long ago in Nashville. It was best concert I've seen in a while, well worth it. Growing up in the 70's and the 80's, his music was listened to just about everyday.
Great song. His song Sailing, one of my favorites of his, is also about missing his homeland. Other great songs of his are You're In My Heart(His Best!), I Was Only Joking, I Don't Want To Talk About It, Baby Jane, The First Cut Is the Deepest, You Wear It Well, (Find a) Reason To Believe, Some Guys Have All the Luck, and Father and Son. And many more I didn't list, you can't go wrong with any of them.
You really need to react to "I Don't Want To Talk About It" (from One Night Only! Rod Stewart Live at Royal Albert Hall), with Amy Belle. The smile on Amy's face, the audience singing, the orchestra, the sax.....all, it's simply breathtaking. You will love it.
Another great one. Rod Stewart is a music chameleon. This man can sing anything with anyone and any genre. The next one you must react to is “Rhythm Of My Heart”. That’s one that’ll definitely get to you. Keep up these incredible reactions and keep smiling 🙂
Where is Rod Stewart from? He was born in North London to a Scottish father and English mother. He has 4 older siblings (2 brothers, 2 sisters), all of whom were born in Scotland. Rod considers himself Scot and not English. Rod was also an outstanding soccer player in his youth. He had trials with Brentford FC (now in the Premier League), but as Rod stated " "Well, a musician's life is a lot easier and I can also get drunk and make music, and I can't do that and play football. I plumped for music ... They're the only two things I can do actually: play football and sing"..
My Mom loved Rod Stewart, and I grew up listening to his music through her. So when I was in my early 20s Rod Stewart had a concert at Giants Stadium aka MetLife stadium (sorry, but us Giants fans still don't call it MetLife ;) )...and his concert was Mother's Day weekend. Of course I had to buy tickets! Could only afford two, but wanted her to go with my stepdad. She called me during the concert so I could hear him singing live ❤️ Best mother's day gift ever and I haven't been able to top it since yikes lol 😉
Another one to add to your Rod Stewart catalogue is "The Killing of Georgie" a song that tells a true story. Amber will love it. Much love from England 🏴
“You’re in my heart” & is my favourite - no one seems to react to it! It would be lovely if you both could in the future! ❤ - oh & also “ You wear it well.” Thank you 🙏🏻
Rod Stewart first found fame in the Jeff Beck Group. He started releasing solo albums and albums with Faces. He is from Scotland, but lived in Beverly Hills.
Such a great voice. "Every Picture Tells A Story" & "Handbags and Gladrags" are great as as well as all of the stuff he did with Jeff Beck & Ronnie Wood on Truth & Beck-Ola.
I'll champion The Motown Song by Rod every time. Any song that sounds like an old soul classic and has the Temptations on backing vocals has to be worth investigating! 🔥
This song describes how I felt coming home from Algeria to the US after a long trip away. Coming home to your own country, family, friends, culture is such a unique feeling. It's like a bubble that swells up in your chest. Love Rod Stewart's voice
Rod Stewart was born and raised around London but embraces his Scottish roots. I would suggest a few of his covers of standards from The Great American Songbook: "The Way You Look Tonight"; "Time After Time"; "Isn't It Romantic".
Rod is iconic. With so many hits and amazingly written songs in his catalog you could listen to him for days. One of the best and easily known voices in music. Great song.
This is the first time I ever heard this song, I think! I can almost recite 'Maggie May' by heart. I've slow danced to songs in his Great American Songbook. How ever did I miss it? I heard an interesting story from a friend whose stories were 90 percent accurate. They were at a concert in L.A. and whp after the show should they run across but Rod Stewart pushing his car! They said it was a beat up looking vehicle. I don't know who they went to see but it wasn't Rod Stewart, he was just a spectator too. I love Moondance.
I'm going to keep recommending Candy Dulfer until you hear her 1 time, after that you're going to be hooked. "Lily was here" with Candy Dulfer and Dave Stewart 1984 is a great place to start, title track from the movie of the same title. Dave is the guitarist for Annie Lennox and the Eurythmics. Prince said Candy was the greatest Saxophone player he ever heard, guess that's why he had he tour with him!
You should revisit his old songs like Little Miss Understood, Gazoline Alley, or Handbags and Gladrags. He is Scottish by the way and he has several songs referring to it. Another trivia fact: If he wouldn't have hit it big with Rock Music, he would have become a football star in his home country as he played since he was small and he was quite good.
Please do a nick drake song. Nick drake was a folk musician from 1969-1974. He did not gain commercial success while he was alive which gave him severe depression and the each album he made you could hear more of his depression coming into his songs. In 1974 he died possibly from Suicide but after he died, he became a lot more popular and sold almost a million record. To start, I would listen to something off his first album “five leaves left”. I would listen to either river man or fruit tree
Love me some rod! He only gets better with age. I love forever young so much! My son was 10 when I got married and that was the song I chose for us to dance to!
One of his great songs I don't want to talk about it he did on stage where he introduced a young lady Amy bell to join him singing to give her a lift after hearing her singing on the street a touch of his generosity. The number has a great sax solo part ways in I think you guys would love it .
Watch next Rod Stewart & Jeff Beck. People Get Ready. Of all the songs and videos of Rod this is my all time favorite. I’ve seen him many many times in concert and he never disappointed!!
Some of his early work with Jeff Beck I Ain’t Superstitious, All Shook Up and his early solo work is great.. Every Picture Tells A Story, Cut Across Shorty, Sailing…
Not here to reacte to your reaction to Rod Stewart, but react to you guys, you two are so adorable ! I love to hear your point of view on amazing music. Now, I think you guys never reacted to a The Cure song. My favorite band in the whole wild world. I would recommend The Lovecats, Lovesong, Friday I'm in love or Lullaby to start your discovery. Keep the good works, you two ! ❤ Wishing strong for a reaction to The Cure.
Hey guys, I've never seen you do Spencer Davis Group. One of their songs "I'm a Man" released 1967 and I remember was used in a few commercials back in the 90s because it's so catchy even years later. Raw, late 1960's sound and feel to it...Amber loves that. It's under 3 minutes.
Ok guys. I've been listening to yall for awhile now. I think its time you thought about going back to where so much our music over the decades came from, the delta blues. From Eric Clapton and George T, so many of our great musicians were influenced by the blues of the Mississippi delta. Take a gander into this world, I think you'll like it. A good place to start is a man named John Lee Hooker.
He was in The Faces with Ronnie Wood and they were a great band with a lot of great tunes...you should do "Oh La La" for starters. You wanna talk about how gritty his voice is well anything he did with the faces sure was gritty.
This song is a tribute, yearning for his people and family whom are Scottish and English. Very heart-felt and and emotional for Sir Roderick Stewart.
“I Don’t Wanna Talk about It” “You’re in my Heart and Soul” , “We are Sailing”,
So many great songs from Rod Stewart... "Maggie May" "You wear it well" "Sailing" "I don't want to talk about it" "First cut is the deepest" "Baby Jane" "Rhythm of my heart" etc etc etc 👍💕🏴🇬🇧
Jay & Amber, you'll love his "Every Picture Tells A Story" and "Downtown Train" !!!!
Downtown Train for sure, but can't forget to here his version, Have I Told You Lately That I Love You...
Another great song! I'd suggest "Downtown Train" next. One of my favourites.
Greetings from Brazil.
Hope they do the original (w/ Vid) - Tom Waits needs some love.
You can never go wrong with Rod . He has a one of a kind voice that nobody can match. A great variety over many decades
Ditto
Well, there was his foray into disco that left a lot to be desired. 🙄
@@hippiemama52It just shows he can sing any kind of music!!
And if it doesn’t go well?
You guys gotta do rod Stewart downtown train
"First Cut is the Deepest" is another great hit, you would both love❣️
Love that song whether by Cat Stevens, Rod or Sheryl Crow
The song you need by Rod is "You wear it well". Perfection. It is 1972 in one song.
You're in my heart, you're in my soul.

Rod Stewart was born in England, but he is of Scottish heritage (to which he pays tribute with the use of bagpipes in many of his songs).
Absolutely. You can’t go wrong with anything he sings.
Can't go wrong with these, but the Killing of Georgie is a definite must
Yes! The Killing Of Georgie is a beautiful song.
@@kathylyons8024 They'll need a large box of kleenex for that one. The version with the orchestra is brilliant..
I suggested all the slower songs to them in the past. Just wish they would get to them
Saw Rod with the Faces many years ago, he's still got the voice to sing any song no matter the genre
So true. I’ve seen him several times and he never disappointed us each time. ❤
I saw him with Faces too. Then many many shows thereafter. Never could get enough. I wish they would lusten to more of his early work such as Handbags And Gladrags & around that era.
@jhood758
Sorry I love Rod but I think his voice is not great now. Same with Elton, after seeing his Glastonbury show. Not so with Cat Stevens he still sounds the same as he did years ago.
Just my opinion.

They did Maggie May. Just search Rob Squad Reactions then the artist or song name.
You have to do‘You’re in my heart.’
Great song 🥰❤️
Ah Roderick. You always hit the spot.:) He just drips emotion. Rod is Scots. And Stewart is the name of the old Scottish kings. Nothing more Scottish than that.
I wondered if Rod Stewart was Scots. I noticed Scottish references in the video and song such as the bagpipes ,kilts and the mention of Jacobites.
@@pattyduke3079 Rod was born and raised in London. His dad was Scottish and his mother English.
So emotive! This song always puts a lump in my throat & brings a tear to my eye!

@@warpedreflection3650 close enough... he seems to identify with it enough.
A classic Rod Stewart song I’ve always loved is “The First Cut Is The Deepest”. Give it a try foe your next Rod tune! 😉

You guys are so awesome. I love watching all your reactions
His Great American Songbook collection will show you how versatile he is. Any song is a winner. Love the crooner era
