It really does! I used a Hot Toys Mandalorian Scout Trooper to make a What-If for an A New Hope SandScout Trooper. I took off one of the white pouches on the abs, replaced it with the hip ammo pouch that the Sandtroopers used, and put an ammo pouch on the left shoulder like the Sandtroopers. It's quite striking!
That helmet gap is something that Hasbro has been doing well before the Mandalorian series existed.

I wonder what the odds are that they'd reissue the Patrol Trooper for the game. Sure it would be kind of a "lazy" release because all they'd really have to do is add the baton from this guy but it would be cool for those who missed out on the Solo one (me).

The helmet gap is for the front to swing up
Not sure how to address this but no, it doesn’t open. When the helmet is closed a seam should be there but not a huge gap. If you look up screenshots from the game you can see it’s not present.

Great review! Did not know the helmet gap wasn’t supposed to be there! At least the poldrun Is easy to paint because of the color when it becomes needed! Definitely going to pick him up!

The gap on the helmet is there in the movie ROTJ, a smaller gap though.

for the pleather could you not spray it with some kind of flexible clear coat to stop any of the ageing issues, i know it works on other types of fabics that degrade, so i think it would work here too (sure we shouldnt have to but it is a workaround, infact HT should do it from factory really )

So glad I’m an out the box collector my self but I got same issue as u with delivery at times. Now my ups guy is amazing. But my usps and fed ex drivers are the worst by me. I’m recently paralyzed and now separated after 20+ years of marriage and my porch still has steps so I ask for my stuff to be put least on the porch so o don’t have to fight to get up and down the steps with my equipment by myself etc. well on camera I see the usps and fed ex driver from my driveway literally take some my packages and throw them from their door of their vehicle onto the top of my porch and let the package roll were ever on there so if I got a few they may be all over my porch. Very frustrating. And that’s just what I see them do at my house. No wonder some boxes look like they been thru war

I thought the helmet gap was supposed to be there. If I remember correctly in the Star Wars rebels tv show Ezra had a flip up mask for the scout trooper helmet pretty much where that helmet gap is. But I’m not sure tho
If you Google “scout trooper commander” and look at the in game assets, it’s not supposed to be there
I gotta wonder if Hot Toys is having trouble getting the likeness rights for Cameron Monaghan or something cause it should be a no brainer to make him! You can't hide his face like they did for Starkiller so hopefully they figure it out!

It's weird that out of all of the figures they could do for either of the two Jedi games...this is the first one they decided to go with.
I guess doing a trooper (and a variant of one they've already done at that) is easier than getting an actors likeness for someone like Cal (yes he's a video game character but he's still modeled after Cameron Monaghan so I imagine that would still be an issue), but still.

In rebels, Ezra has a scout trooper helmet and it opens , but I still understand the frustration because it should be a very small seam, not a big gap

I just don't understand why Hot Toys just assumes that all Scout Troopers had helmet gaps or that every Scout Trooper they make needs to have one, it's seriously lazy on their part! Sure the helmet looks great when you're not looking at it from the side but come on you'd think they would be able to release at least one Scout Trooper figure without that unsightly helmet gap...other than that this is an amazing figure and it's certainly a different look for a Scout Trooper

I'll never get over the fact they turned the commander of reconnaissance and sniper specialists into a melee unit. Like, really? He couldn't be doing anything else? Running at people with a shock baton is like a patrol trooper job lol.
