I had the typical "Lakhnawi" sheermal in Tehran, 1975 and again in an Irani restaurant in New York, 1983 ! The last time I had it in Lucknow, it was baked by a "kahar" who learned it's recipe while washing utensils at a prominent "naanbai's" stablishment.! This was in 1960s. This fellow was prosecuted for some crime around mid sixties and the old sheermal more or less disappeared from that time ! We were shaikhs of raebareli district, I think my great grandfather's great grandfather Sheikh Ilahi Baksh was soldiers in sheikzadan Cavalry of awadh, after 1857 or before, He migrated to work in Holkar army in Indore M.P. with his son Sheikh Madar Baksh. Are we qidwais ??? Please reply

We can find Above bakhar khani in Muzaffarabad, Kashmir.
