Never understood why he didn't just walk around with a toolbelt like Batman, with a ton of samples of different materials in it. Or even a plethora of rings, each a different material, on each finger. Would make him almost unstoppable.
In the comic books he was just a low-level thug. Not very intelligent or imaginative. There was a graphic novel Universe x. He absorbed the computer mind of Ultron. And that's when he really got dangerous. Because He could become any material that he had touched in the past.
Unfortunately most incarnations of this character are denser than the materials he absorbs.
i guess you aren't paying enough attention to what happens...
when he changed full body then he had alot of that material that he is touching while the ball with chain wasnt enough to change his whole body.
if he would wear a ring of metal then he would change a finger maybe a hand into metal.
@@suilles guess they nerfed him for the series then, at least in earth mightiest heroes he changes to fullbodymetal just from a teaspoon ...
@@MrTBSC yeah but there he had a moment he fights the hulk all fine in a metal type but then gets thrown into sand he changed into sand but had to touch metal to not become a sand pile so sometimes he got the power that he needs to use this power to take that form but other times he touches it and change right away without doing anything.
also it dont make any sense of him opening that vault door in this video...
a steel (or whatever metal it is) vault then it changes into that metal and he can go through the metal door to open it.
im sorry but its not because you become the same type of material that you can go through it. if he could then why did he have to change into glass so they wouldnt see him in the glass cage then he could of changed into whatever it was and open the door too...
writers change alot of a story so it would look "cool"
Just imagine the sheer durability he'll get from touching a Nokia phone.

I swear Nokias in the marvel universes must be made of vibranium

oh this joke is famous in other countrys yet i see
"This is a very important prisoner. As you can see by the containment, he has special powers. He is bullet proof. So if anything happens, key open his cell and point your pistol."
this was actually so stupid. Did they not know what his powers were at this point? Did it not occur to them that he could just become glass and blend in? I would have stopped watching the show at that point
Absorbing Man has always been a interesting character for me ever since I read he up in my old Hulk comic book collection. He’s an epic adversary of Hulk, but to think that he could potentially one of the most powerful entities in the Marvel universe had he actually had a stronger intellect because not to be rude but his brain is denser than the materials he absorbs. If he was smart he could easily outwit almost any super hero because he could basically become unstoppable. But of course his character has like the imagination of a 3 year old.
Can he be part of marvel or DC
@@tiestokygoericprydz3963 He’s a Marvel character so I mean that’s kind of your answer.
Believe it or not, he actually started as a Thor villain. See in the comics, he was in prison serving time and Loki, wanting a superpowered pawn to fight Thor, slipped an Asgardian herb into his food, granting him his powers.
@@greatprofessorbias414that would've been a better scene than all the boring human scenes from the first Thor film.

If I had his power, I'd make it a priority to obtain a small piece of Vibranium or Adamantium and always carry it in my pocket or have a ring made out of it
The amount one would spend to get it would be worth it if it's in his hands
Kevin carried enough Tatenite with him to cover his hand but that hard crystal is not a metal.
He could sell his skin every month and scam people out for vibranium

how ironic that the absorbing man got absorbed in the end
It makes me mad that they killed him off like that he had so much potential

He could just walk around with a tank, some shorts and sandals that he can easily take off. It’s not as cool as regular clothes but it’s really efficient for his powers especially when he’s barefoot so he doesn’t have to noticeably transform.

Fun fact: this version of Carl Creel/Absorbing Man fought Matt Murdock’s dad in a boxing match in a Netflix’s Daredevil. The fight was only referenced and not seen, but it’s part of the reason why Jack Murdock died. Jack was supposed to lose the fight to Carl in a fixed match, but he wanted to win instead.

Calling Absorbing man Kevin from Ben 10 is like saying that Thanos came from Fortnite.
Not really, it's what they recognize, most people, that I know at least, dont read comics and arent aware of most superheroes

He does not only a material but a paint job too , amazing
I wouldn't mind a superhero tv series of a guy that can absorb stuff like this it would be really cool. He'd be a cooler version of Kevin Levin and he'd be able to absorb stuff at his own will.
AoS really explored Carl "Crusher" Creel more as a person than the comics did. The idea that the sensation of absorbing materials might be enjoyable. The idea that he would have drawers of different materials on hand to have them as needed (and to experience each of them). The fact that he could camoflage himself by sanding in fornt of a material that he absorbed or that he could absorb the transparency of his perspex cell.
He's been around for decades. All this has been done. He was even once turned into cocaine & everyone that snorted a line gained his powers.
@@allamericananti-christ666 Wow....that's um....wow, Marvel...

That was very good editing.
One of my favorite characters from this show to be sure.
I got so mad when they killed him off. A whole ass redemption arc for nothing. He would've been amazing to see as a S.H.E.I.L.D. Agent or something.
Yeah, that really sucks. He's my favorite character in Marvel. I do appreciate the redemption arc, but it sucks he went out like that.

@2:11. Does anyone else laugh at her smirking and saying “why don’t we find out what makes this thing so deadly” intending to use it as an ultimate weapon, and what makes it so deadly immediately becomes clear to her for barehanding it
Tv shows always have a fraction of the budget to stretch over the course of a season or more that movies do, so the CG work they did for all his different absorbing episodes was done rather well and looks really well done, good animation and color matching to the scene lighting, overall they did a great job, felt almost like it was practical even though I know it wasn't!!!...
They really chose a perfect actor for this character. I mean, not the acting, but he physically fit the role.

Much older. I don't know the extent of Kevin's powers but in the comics Crusher has absorbed everything from Thor's hammer to Quasar's energy blasts to water and everything in between. His powers are magic and come from Loki. He also carries a ball and chain that changes forms right along with him. He is a very formidable character
His power is like an upgraded kevin atleast in the absorbing of material to his entire body, though kevin has more abilities.
That glass absorbtion scene was so dope.
I liked this version of him in the series very much more than in the comics and the series he was intelligent and very imaginative with his abilities and was able to use them to great effect in the comics hes just a big old Dumbo!💯😁😉👍

Honestly this is one of the abilities I would love to have. Adaptability to live in any environment plus the power to absorb material and make it your own. Can you imagine getting in a fight with putting your hand on a metal surface and then punching them in the face with a metal hand.
Just some material he can’t absorb like the end of this vids .

gotta admit his CGI is very good... tbh Agents of Shields CGI improved a LOT
The show's later seasons look fantastic, esp given the budget. Having access to MCU art assets helped them immensely.
Not to detract from the show, but material textures and surfaces are much easier to make look good than a lot of other things in CG. Metal, rubber, paint... etc. Is pretty easy, skin, faces, movements, mist.. etc. Those are very difficult. They chose wisely.
The did an awesome job of blending good on-set work, makeup, and CG to make it look great!
You can basically do a CG transition to a painted metallic arm.. it's a good choice for a TV show.

I still live in hope one day this guy will get his hands on The Wrecker’s Crowbar.
I’ve heard of him. In the comics, it turns out that he got his powers by Loki in order to beat Thor.
Facts... I made a mistake and said Doom, but Doom gave his gf, Titania her powers
Wouldn't it have been easier to have different rings of different metals? That way he doesn't have to worry about finding a material to transform his body into? He can always have 10 rings on his hands at any given time So he can quickly switch between diamond's, Steel, Concrete, Brass, etc?
From what they showed from the ball and chain he needs a certain amount of material to do full body transformations. If he had rings he could at most turn his hands into the material but nothing more.
@@liambhagan9239 not true, he can turn his whole arm with a tiny amount and made almost his whole body wood with just a stick

The ending of this video reminds me of that “adapt to survive” guy from X-Men first class, he had awesome & unique powers, & the writers wasted no time, killing him off ☹️. He had potential, imho, even as a main character in a solo film, hope to see him in the MCU.
Darwin is quite literally unkillable in the x-men canon, so the fact that they made a show of how strong their big bad was by making him kill Darwin was a low blow, especially when the same big bad later died due to a penny entering his forehead.
Seriously, Dawin survived an interaction with Hella, the goddess of death, because his powers made him a god of death.
@@enigma6890 unfortunately a lot of marvel movies especially the x-men movies are inaccurate to the comics but Darwin in the comic storyline is definitely unkillable like you mentioned.
That and he's originally mostly a free agent like Emma frost, deadpool and psylocke but still joins the x-men when his assistance is needed. As for the hela ( since marvel renamed her to that from hel) feat she decided to leave him alone after that. Which just goes to show how powerful darwin really is because not even the most powerful of all the Norse gods and goddesses want to pick a fight with Darwin lol.
Darwin is really cool and they buried him fast. They didnt even expore his reflexive adaptations where he doesn't know how his body will change .Kinda seems like Absorbing got buried here too. May always has some cheap jump on him, Coulson had some gimmick weapon, he gets beat by 3 spies, not to mention the near constant
beat up by a small girl trope..... This is a dude who held his own with Hulk... now he aint shit.
I completely agree. His set of powers were definitely worthy of more screentime in that movie.

This is off of Agents of Shield, the character we are seeing is Carl "Crusher" Creel. Throughout the movies and Comics he's been known as absorbing man to if I'm not mistaken. To be honest, the only part that bothers me is the car flipping scene, I've seen roads break after people dropping things way less heavy than a car. If he absorbed and turned into the same concrete as a road, that SUV would've had a giant dent and split him to pieces
Yeah, but his power is not only absorb the material, he also adapts it to his body, allowing him to move and use his power only in some parts of his body, that's why he sometimes shows super strength without being using his power externally. For example: 0:49, 8:17 and 9:06. It's entirely logical that in the SUV scene he's using super strength to resist the impact.
