I've done this to my locs, I just used coconut vinegar instead. I get it at the Asian grocery store, it's under $2.00 for 750ml. I warm up the concoction first though.
I didn’t so the spray. I bought a bendable pan and added acv lime juice and baking soda. My son soaked his hair for 30 minutes and all that lint came out. I was about to cut his hair because the lint buildup was so bad. This right here is a miracle worker. I will be detoxing once a month
@@femarie4449 he is 8. I bought the bendable pan from Family Dollar. Just lay her on the floor with a towel and just put her hair in it and let it soak and just take your hands and loosen up the lint. It really works.
@@femarie4449 remember after you detox put a coconut and black castor oil on her hair to seal in the moisture because if you don’t it’s going to get dry and brittle and break off. Hope it helps
I never thought to spray my hair then soak it in baking soda and ACV I will try this next time my locs in the back are always full of lint and I guess dirt and residue from soap.
JoAnn Allen No it’s for both 😂 Sorry if there was any confusion. Any form of build up (product build up, lint, etc.) is reduced through this process. Like I said in the video, people with sisterlocks tend to experience lint build up. Other forms of locs that use a retwisting method primarily tend to experience product build up. Nonetheless, this wash works for both! My mom and I have been doing ACV washes for a few years now specifically to get rid of lint and it’s been the best regimen we’ve used. You can’t eliminate lint fully but it reduces the amount greatly!
Keep you hair up and use tweezers to get the lint out gently if they aren’t mature lint should pull right out but be careful not to degrade the structural Integrity of your loc
I love my locs but I wish I would've gotten locs your size! I'm currently trying to get lint out my daughters hair which has gotten pretty bad! I got a crochet needle which does help a little and the avc wash did help but not much.... Is it okay to do it again in a couple weeks?
Hey! I’m planning to dye my hair jet black.. but I also need to do an ACV rinse & deep condition.. In what order do you recommend I do all of this? Should I do my ACV first, then dye, then deep condition? Or should I do my ACV, then deep condition, then dye?
Disclaimer: I’m not a loctician/cosmetologist. HOWEVER! Haha is say ACV, deep condition, wait a week or so to allow your hair to “rest”, and then dye followed up with deep condition. Both processes can be really drying and doing them all in ones sitting might be a lot on your hair. But if you must do all of that in one sitting do ACV, deep condition, dye, deep condition would be my recommendation. I hope this helps! :)
A tee shirt can replace the Microfiber towel and a large swim cap can replace the plastic bags!
I'll just use one of these many free plastic bags I have in the house for now.
Thank you so much! I did my first detox by soaking my sisterlocks for 20 mins, and that did not help!🤞🏿that this process has better results!

I've never heard of coconut vinegar! :o
what's the difference besides the fruit used? what change have you noticed in your hair?

How old is your son? My daughter is 4 and I’m going through the same thing. She has soooo much lint

Once a month is too much in my opinion
Thank you for sharing. I plan to do this to help with detoxing my Lord and refreshing my scalp.
I thought you couldn’t get rid of lint. Thanks I am definetly going to try this.
Did you wet your hair first before spraying in the acv mixture?
LADY G 1980 Nope! My hair was dry. Glad I could be helpful!
I am doing your ACV method! Now on part two... the soaking 😁
Super helpful video!! Thank you for sharing. Was very detailed and easy to follow. Just subscribed to your channel 🥰
So glad I could be helpful! Welcome to the Goodie Gang :)
I’m definitely gonna try your version✨ I’m debating on making it a video or not though

I'm a man watching this to try it myself and I cannot get over how gorgeous you are!
Beautiful locs 🥰 thanks so much for the tip, I’m trying it now.
Quick question- how often do you wash your hair?
chillidee1000 Thank you! And once a week. If it doesn’t feel dirty (ex. winter time and I haven’t been active), I’ll hold of for a few more days.
She is so Beautiful!
This video is about removing build up only correct? I didn't see anything about removing lint. Which I know have and was told I can not get rid of.

THIS WOMAN IS FINE! AND SHE GOOD EDGES! 🖤😍🥰
"You're gonna look like a condom" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lolitha Sappatini had me dying 🤣🤣
So how do u get the lint out if u have locks that aren’t matured yet?

Will this work for aloe vera flakes?
What do we think about white distilled vinyasa a substitute?
I want to colour my hair black. Do you think this would strip some of the dye or it after the rinse.
What do you use to color your hair(products)

Can you do this after a year in microlocs?
Beautiful beautiful
What shampoo do you use?
I don’t have a go-to so I can’t give you a concrete recommendation, sorry! I use what “looks good” when walking through the Walmart isle 😅😂
Will acv remove hair glue from a quick weave on locs?
I personally don't have experience with hair glue so I can't say I'm certain. But I definitely think it's worth a shot!
I don’t even use product . But I realize it’s my leave in conditioner spray that’s building up so I’m getting rid of it .
I’ve had my sisterlocks for almost a year and a half is it safe to detox ? I don’t want it to unravel
If your locs are completely loced/mature, you definitely can!
How often do you wash your hair
As needed but generally once a week in spring/summer & once every 2 weeks fall/winter
Can you do this with 8months locs? I'm not sure that I'm fully locked yet
Ok, got my answer at the end of the video...lol
How often do you do this?
Biannually

@@ImaniGoodridge ok thanks so much! I’ll wait a week to dye!
Wouldn't have been easier to just buy the tub from Amazon the you can lay down on the floor and let your hair soak
Use gloves!
