As a Bears fan im glad we didn’t draft Stroud, we have passed on several great quarterbacks like Mahomes and Rodgers and we’re not about to change that now! Da Bears! ❤
Im glad the bears didnt decide to kill another qb career by drafting this year
All Da Bears need to do is pass on Caleb Williams for the Trifecta.
Got to feel for the Bears when you get to pick from any of the following: Mahomes, Watson and Trubisky.
I'm very happy for Lovie Smith to gift that pick to the Bears because now we ended up with Stroud.
😂😂
As a UGA fan, i knew he'd be the best Qb of that draft. We saw Levis. We saw Richardson. We saw Young. Stroud was the only one who seemingly did whatever he wanted.
Yep. It was annoying af.
he also had the most talent but i do also still think he was the best
Bryce when he had help, did have his way against y’all
As an OSU fan even with the loss it was fun to watch. Your defense gave him by far the best test of his career, didn't see him under that kinda fire even in the Michigan game.
As an Ohio State fan, RESPECT!
I love that you incorporated last years Penn state film. I don’t think people realized at the time how many NFL throws he made that game and it’s great to see those throws translate quickly for him
Stroud has been an ideal QB from day 1 for the Texans. He's 21, mature, has the right build, accurate arm, throws with anticipation, and seems to learn immediately from his mistakes. He's also been a humble guy this entire time. Houston has needed this for half a decade.
he also prefers to get massages done for free by the in-house team of professionals
@@Demigodxzer😂😂😂😂😂😂 Gawt dayum you said that 😂
@@Demigodxzer Nothin wrong with that...
@@DemigodxzerHe is a Christian and he always donated his time on Thanksgiving for feeding the homeless I believe.
As a Texans fan. The TD Mills threw last year against the Colts may be the single most important play in Texans history. Idk how true the rumors were, but I think we were gnna take Bryce if we had #1 pick
Thank you lovie smith and carolina for being dummies
davis mills saved the Texans franchise😂😂
As a Panthers fan this is killing me.. We gave up the house to get that little fella…
Wait, didn't you hear? We drafted the most NFL-ready QB in the draft. According to other Panthers fans, he'll start showing it in year two.
Hey, I'm just glad you guys traded up and not the colts
@@Bullboy_Adventurescrazy i wish the colts had young instead of richardson
that really worked out so well for yall.
I never understood why there was so much hype on him, I was going by eye test and stroud just looked better to me
super duper computer processor
Good thing The Carolina team listened to everyone and Took the kid from Alabama huh?
And they trade up for that pick.
The Benergy in these videos is off the charts. Love your analyses, Ben. They make me feel stupid and smart all at the same time.
"Benergy" -- good
Pretty sure Heroin doesn't hit this good
LMAO facts
Wanna bet 😂
I’m not one to talk shit about players but mannnnn Dalton Schultz has been sooooo bad
the accuracy of this video is A++ like CJ anticipation
Wow I like how you explained his accuracy and anticipation, am gonna enjoy watching the Texans a lot more!
Stroud was my favorite QB coming out in this year's draft, however we should hold off on anointing him a "good" or "bad" player at this point. The sample size is just too small.
That being said, all the indicators are there for him to be a franchise QB and that is very encouraging. Being a good QB in the NFL is about toughness and consistency in addition to talent. It's a marathon rather than a sprint. As a Chiefs fan, the city of Houston deserves to have a good QB and I'm hoping they will be competing with the upper echelon of NFL teams consistently in the near future with Stroud.
Yea qb is the only position in the league where I just can’t by into the hype so fast your right however he’s looking good
@@ock5458 Normally I agree but hes doing exceptionally well given how lacklustre the O-line is and the lack of veterans and weapons around him. Stroud was my favourite out of all the QBs drafted.
I have to disagree the man is missing 4 of the 5 starters of his Oline and is still doing Amazing, you say he has no weapons? Dell and Nico are avg 17 yds a catch Woods is a reliable 3rd down WR he has decent weapons that are underrated. Stroud is performing very well
Love Solak & this series.
Zach Wilson is struggling in a historic way, could we can an analysis on him?
I think Ben likes to be positive whenever possible...impossible with Wilson
Why would you want to inflict Wilson’s game film on Ben? That would be a terrible experience
@@menacensobriety9942 I'd love to see Ben detailing exactly what Wilson is failing at and why, actually.
LOL there has been enough zach wilson content done by YT analysts in the last 3 years which validates why he can't be a QB1 anywhere in the league. Jets fans either cold hard deny it or some accept it. Which is why the latter were hoping for Rodgers to ball out this year.
Wake up babe new play sheet dropped
Funny how we here NOTHING from the clowns who spreaded the rumour that he can't read and failed pre-draft testing. Must be nice to anonymously slander a person and then be able to hide when proven wrong
To be fair some pre-draft/draft/off-season assessment falls flat when its time to execute in the regular season. The fact the Texans got a 21 yr old who is behaving like a 3 yr seasoned vet for a rookie is huge blessing. Even more so in an offensive system that just asks the QB to take what the defense gives and let it rip in structure.
@@t4d0W Fair point.
Your excitement is off the charts, it's awesome! Great analysis and ability to relay complicated in information, love "The Play Sheet"!
1st time watching your videos. Very clever, presenting plays of college games and comparing to similar plays of pro games.👍
Is there a person better with the telestrator than Ben? A wizard
I hope he succeeds just so people stop with the stupid "Every OSU QB sucks in the NFL so that means THIS OSU QB will too" thing
Texans fans getting drunk off the kool-aid, myself included! CJ is legit. Your excitement was awesome to hear, great video!
Oh but CJ scored low on the George bush test. Suck it standardized testing. The best draft class the Texans ever had was Owen Daniels draft class. After a few games you see stroud, Anderson, dell, and Henry Toto. I think this is Houston’s best draft class ever. I really like the Texans we’re able to reunite Anderson, Henry Toto, and Christian Harris. Stroud and dell is just insane I’m glad management listened to the qb and drafted dell
I thought it was Biden cognition test.
Stroud took that stupid test near midnight after a very long day at the combine. Young, Richardson and Levis took their test very early in the day. He was able to retest at earlier time on a different day, and scored in the 80's close to 90. The way the media and haters trashed that kid over something that isn't an IQ test, and wasn't given the same testing option as the other three, was ridiculous.
At least biden wasn't saying Person, woman, man, camera TV. You know, like the guy that millions of Americans idolize, for some reason
tee higgens to houston. trade for george kittle. houston got legs next year if they dev up their oline
Four of their five starters were out with injuries.
As a Bengals but also an OSU fan, I wouldn't mind seeing Tee go to Housten with CJ if we don't have the cap space to keep him.
Nah we are good at wr spend the money to build a nasty defense and make sure the line is solid on both sides
stroud might break the ohio allegations
His anticipation is something he developed at OSU. To have that you have to trust your Wrs. The wrs were so much better than any other wr core in the nation that he knew he could throw it where he was supposed to and they would be there. It’s translated very well into the nfl
That's a credit to his recievers in Houston too. While unheralded (and even outright disregarded and disrepsected by national media), they're performing in a way that allows Stroud to put the ball where its supposed to be, which speaks volumes to all three of them (Collins, Woods, Dell) being better than advertised or expected.
And I think that if Houston cracks the 7 or 8 win threshold, it will be because those three guys prove themselves to be a cut above. Heck, if they crack that threshold, there's a good chance that not only would Stroud be heavily favored to be OROY, but he might face competition from his own receiver, Dell who is on track to catch 1300 yards.
I still think Slowik's best bet is to go with a 3 receiver set, TE, and RB out of the shotgun until the line issues are resolved. Yes Stroud didnt get sacked last week and, again, yes that was because of improved line play, however, it was MORE because Stroud moved well in anticipating the pocket collapsing and sensing pressure. Expecting a depleted line to have this type of game again (when they were horrid the first two games) is asking for trouble and expecting Stroud to keep bailing himself out is asking for even more trouble. Solid like to see more creativity in the offense in that regard to protect Stroud. Maybe even some empty backfield sets. Anything. Just give the guy some help until the actual help arrives.
@@curtisgriffinjr743 agreed. It wouldn’t be working if the wrs weren’t able to be there and open. Much credit to the Houston wrs. All playing at a very high level
@@curtisgriffinjr743 I think the plan originally is to let Pierce's run game dictate the offense and run play action on the success of that. Problem is without a healthy O-line the ability to successfully threaten the run is near nonexistent. So Stroud has been getting the lions share of touches to get the offense going.
If the Texans come out and beat the Steelers, I think they should definitely be considered a dark horse in the playoff race. The division isn't that strong and in the first 3 games, their offense has been insanely productive and the defense is only going to get better as their players heal. Same with the O-Line, if CJ is given proper protection, he can tear apart defenses.
Thoughts now that Houston beat the brakes off Pittsburgh? Texans are spicy!
I know it's still early but he might finally be a successful OSU qb in the NFL
I like what I see so far but just need a bigger sample size. I hope he continues to grow!
We love our NFL Buckeyes!
Wait until the Texans change their colors.
Can't wait for that🔥 a team full of young hungry dawgs led and coached by one of h-town's own with the new uni💯🔥
Great fun. Awesome video as always.
Signed: sad bears fan that's hoping that they meant to tank and get Caleb Williams the whole time. :-)
dont worry u own the panthers pick it will be a top 3
If Stroud had gone to the Bears, he would be in the very same position that Fields is in and Young would be broken into pieces. Caleb should absolutely refuse if the Bears end up somehow with that pick. Until the Bears figure out how to call a game plan to suit it's QB, no quarterback will succeed in that program. I'm getting really tired of seeing Bears fans popping up on Stroud's feed trying to compare the two. They are different types of quarterbacks. And by the way, Justin Fields did not run a lot in college because he didn't have to, so that right there tells me all I need to know.
@@Evilene52 I'm here to appreciate this young quarterback and this video.
You are tired of us? You and I don't matter. Our organization continues to set one bad precident after another.
And, I'm going to continue to talk about the bad job they do.
Go Stroud.
@@Evilene52 Yeah both QBs are pretty different. But at the same time Slowik and the staff got Stroud to buy in on a scheme to help him execute the Grip it and Rip it plan. From seeing Stroud get the ball off fast under center he looks like a potentially better version of Cousins/Goff who can read post snap (very important in the Shanahan offenses for QBs since they will be under center often) and be aggressive.
These videos are so so good. Keep them coming!
Nere seen any of your videos but man I've been so pumped for CJ and this season but you got me hyped up even more. Love the video and Go Texans 🤘✌️
I love how stroud came out of Ohio State and immediately made justin fields look sorry in comparison lol. Especially being drafted by the texans
He probably has a better arm than Fields but then again it’s probably easier to look good in the Houston offense than in Chicago
You can say what you want about the 'Texans' but this coaching staff with this lackluster roster is getting things right on offense. Even with the injuries in the O-line, Slowik (the OC) is still getting Stroud to execute the play action and have the receivers just get their routes right. So Stroud can trust in his instincts to stay poised and let it rip when he sees the opening. Sometimes those good looks don't even result in a completion but it is still positive to see Stroud's aggression paying off when it does. Meanwhile the Bears play calling is so atrocious that even when Fields has the clean pocket and time to throw, his guys are covered and the defense will settle for him trying to run it beyond the sticks.
I’m so glad I picked him up in fantasy yesterday. Trevor Lawrence is getting on my nerves.
That is not dumb because the pistol and shotgun, quarterbacks did seven
step drops a lot, remember Dan Pastorini.
"Will they make the playoffs, no." They're even better than you realised!
You will make a good political reporter. You think you have to explain to everyone what they just saw.
It's after the Week 3 Jags win that people in the building began to talk that we have the QB that gives us a chance to win in every game.
idk if he would've called a white qb "this cat" personally got a bit of a weird vibe there but ok good analysis tho
back after the texans made the playoffs that ben said they wouldn’t 🤘🏽
If Bill Obrien was coaching Stroud would be on the bench

This is the best "show" on The Ringer and it's not close.
Houston can very easily make play off buy wining the division Tennessee is gonnna do much houston always beats the jags since 2017. And colts they always split. Plus the have a easier schedule.
Shh don't tell them! We'll continue our work in silence
Can't wait for a new episode on Stroud! Great content!
Love CJ’s throwing motion.
really like this!! gonna watch the college stroud vid now!
This guy is extremely well spoken
That's my QB! Go Texans!!!
He hasn't done ANYTHING impressive at all yet. Like.. at all lol
Watch the film. And lay off the meth
bears woulda ruined him
As abysmal as the Texans have been as a franchise. Their last two first round QB selections have looked to be on point. Still early, but Stroud has advantages over Young physically. Now to see if Houston can build around him.
Ryan Day may not coach toughness😅, but he develops QB'S. Just don't let the Bears get their hands on them.
The best football content on youtube! Keep it up my guy!
Die hard panthers fan. I was sick when we drafted Bryce over him. Stroud is looking like he’s going to be a stud for the Texans.
every week your analysis is a treat!
If the Panthers scouts were any good and looked at film, there's no way they would have taken Young over Stroud.
Excellent work
Just sipping my Kool-Aid watching this 😊
on me we gotta good qb wtf ian never study film like this 😂😂😂
Once again, Ben, great work. Love this channel.

🤘-Town baby !!!!! Let’s go
We must protect Ben Solak at all costs.
We owe lovie smith right nut
This is a hell of a video man, keep it up!
Another bonus for him is that he gets to out west again. He's from Cali and his friends and family won't have to get on a plane just to visit anymore lol. Kudos to the Texans for understanding him and giving him control on day one. The young man plays his best in warmer weather as well.
that play at 7:50 really is chef's kiss.
I think this is Ben at his best. What he's meant to do
U on point BRO.. 👏
Great work Ben
Ahahha “…..dumb”
He’s always pass the eye test
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not only did they get it right but the staff and scheme just makes sense! Seeing Stroud rip it the way he does from under center reminds me of how Kirk or 2018 Goff would do it. Which also gets the most out of a sub-par receiver group who may seem limited but is getting the most out of their strengths. First it was Nico Collins getting some explosive plays. Then it was Tank Dell getting a 100+ burner of a game. Good schemes when executed can help elevate a lackluster offensive roster. Also its fun to watch that offense do well on the field. I don't particularly look forward for young aspiring starting QBs attack a defense with uninspired play calling and not take chances to pick apart mismatches.
That is not a sub par receiver group.
@@chrisanders713 I mean they certainly aren't proven... yet. Which is they key thing here. A good QB in a working system can help unlock those guys and figure out of they are long term fixtures around Stroud. Or are situational guys to attack the defense in specific ways. But this receiver group is certainly playing better than what Young (and maybe Richardson) has so far.
It is the Texans, so it doesn't really matter.
He won 1 game against a mixed up Jags defense. Can’t get too excited.
