"I'm not gonna comment" goes 0-2 this week. Honestly every episode could be a Lamar episode. He's so fun to watch it's unreal
Next week I'm gonna beat "I'm not gonna comment." I've seen the film on it now. I've scouted it. I know where it's weak.
Lamar is silky smooth. Gunslinger flicking release from any arm angle. Accelerates and slinks through defenders, you might catch a stiff arm, he might snap your ankles. He might choose to hop out of bounds after a gain of 8, then rip a deep post the next play with 2 defenders in his face. There’s never been a player like him with that combination of rare traits as a full package.
Thanks for your hard work Ben :)
This is awesome Ben! Thank you for doing this. Sick of Lamar's throwing ability not being recognized for how elite it is.
Lamar is an unbelievable talent that doesn't get the credit he deserves the haters don't want to admit that they were wrong about him. I'm a 9ers fan and I damn sure wish we had him we would definitely win a SB or 2 in my personal opinion.
13:00 wow. From a full sprint. In the face of a defender. With an IMMEDISTE quick release down field.
Just wow.
He flipped his hips and threw in one fluid motion.
Imcredible
Ive been a ravens fan all my life and lamar has been able to make these throws for years but greg roman sucked, and lamar admittedly his mechanics weren't consistent enough, so he threw alot of ducks but idk if it was this offseason or last offseason but he changed the mechanics of his upper body throwing motion, and now his perfect throws from seasons prior, are happening nearly every time he drops back and its amazing to watch
Agreed, watching Lamar over the years has been awesome. Seeing is progression as a QB has been a beautiful sight to behold
Lamar improved his base tremendously around 2019-2020. His mechanics have been solid since then. He’s silky smooth. He’s had no receivers & an offensive structure incapable of producing an NFL caliber passing game. They forced him to be super man for years.
@dleckness up until last week he was still being superman
@elastictowels9659 that's just how he plays, if you think this season he's been playing hero ball, you should go rewatch the last few seasons of his tape. Absolutely nothing worked without Lamar.
@@mars7304 that’s what we’re saying. He had to be super man bc he had no help.
…and thanks for giving proper flowers to Lamar as your technical breakdown allows people to assess Lamar for what he is actually doing as opposed to people’s perception of him. FYI I’m not a Ravens fan but have respect his game
Lamar Jackson plays the greatest “Because I can” football in the world. Why throw all the way across the field with pressure in my face? “Because I Can”
Why completely stop while trying to outrun defenders? “Because. I. Can.”
Just beautiful to watch
You can tell who actually is a real footvall guy by what they think and say about Lamar as a passer.
Dude is nasty. Has been for a minute.
Been great seeing Lamar look this great from the pocket. And hes been robbed of about 3 extra passing TDs due to drops. But with Odell and Bateman getting even more comfortable, While Zay and Andrews are both playing great. Maybe Lamar gets another MVP and/or the Ravens make a deep playoff run
Lamar Jacks-Him. Incredible stuff Ben
I'm not going to comment. OK, one comment. This series is great, look forward to it every week.
This Ravens offense is looking explosive and amazing it was fun to watch 🎥🔥
Lamar to Zay is a lethal combo in the making.
Great video…. Lamar is an elite thrower of the football and it beautiful to watch.
The first play Ben analyzed was a play from earlier in the game and Zay told Lamar to come to him if they ran it again cause he had a step on his defender
If Lamar plays like this up to the 49ers game and if he has a day on them he will bag his 2nd mvp
Unanimous at that.
not a lot of easy games the rest of the way for them, he's got the chance to make a lot of statements against top teams
The last time the Ravens had a tough late season stretch of games with Lamar looking this good, Lamar won his MVP and the Ravens went 14-2. They trashed a Watson-led Texans team, the Rams during a playoff push, the Seahawks during a playoff push, the undefeated Patriots, etc.
🙌🙌🙌 preach the good word Ben!
This was an awesome video! He put so much deserved Respect on Lamar "Action" Jackson's name!🥇
Great breakdown and I agree that some may think that game vs the Lions was peak Lamar with this new offense. I think there is far more good things to look forward to this offense that has the potential to solve defenses. Especially if the all the receivers besides Zay and Andrews are on the same page.
This is just extra confirmation. Mahomes is definitely QB 1A, 1B, 1C. But Lamar is no worse than number 2. Burrow, Hurts, Tua, Herbert, Allen…None of them are better than Lamar.
The Ringer’s content is just the best stuff out there, perios
Your commentary is A+ love the attention to detail.
Great analysis.
So good. Nice work.
Tua, Puka, and Lamar are all on my superflex team. Love to see the tape on em with these Play Sheets
Ben Solak and Colin Cowherd "get it," when it comes to Lamar Jackson. Thank goodness SOMEBODY in the NFL media does -- because it was really awful (and incredibly mind-blowing) during the off-season, when not a single NFL team thought it was worth it, to try and sign Lamar. Not the Patriots, not the Buccaneers, not the Falcons, not the Commanders, not the Titans, not the Saints, not the Raiders, not the Giants, et al. How's that working out for them? Many if not most of the commentators on ESPN, CBS, Fox, NBC, et al., absolutely EMBARRASSED themselves last off-season...by hemming and hawing, and "justifying" why nobody wanted to pay Lamar. I've been watching football for roughly 50 years -- and I agree with everything Ben Solak says in this video. Great job, Ben!
Lamar's passing ability, or the claim that he can't pass, is the one thing some people can't let go of and are very smug about, despite just about everyone who breaks down tape has shown repeatedly how much he has progressed. I do get the criticism we need to see more in the playoffs but getting it done in the playoffs doesn't mean he isn't or wasn't a good passer. Stats, game tape, all show he's a good passer, one of these days hopefully this myth that he can't pass just dies.
He’s the best
It's hilarious to me that Lamar nearly fell to the second round in his draft when teams were drafting scrubs like Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen. The league is so dumb
I'm not necessarily saying it was 'the move' but 5th year options for drafting a first round QB that works out is always a great thing to have. Hell Ravens got Lamar at a controlled cost even before his extension was up and had an MVP year back in 2019.
Thank God!
Ozzie newsome, THE GOAT, left my ravens a final parting gift.
Started it with Jonathon Ogden and Ray Lewis and ended with Lamar.
@@JacaboBlanco Mark Andrews was in that draft too.
@@michaelhession2105 so was Zach Sieler, Bradley Bozeman, Anthony Averett and Orlando Brown Jr who are all starters in the league rn.
and DeShon Elliott!
Great video
Awesome breakdown! Thanks. Lamar is one of one.
Lamar is so Awesome.. So happy to be a Goth & a Ravens supporter.. The Lions are posers.
I'm not gonna comment I'm just gonna watch the video. Jk just gonna leave this comment here
great video
Man I wish I was better player high school think this stuff is fun to study
MVP #2 loading...
How do you get access to coachs film?
Ben solar deserves his own 1 hr show
Not human
Ben - the sage we don't deserve. As a huge Lamar fan, that footwork is the reason for the inconsistency. Kurt Warner did a breakdown and really was Lamar's biggest flaw. Unfortunately, no focus on it over the years. Hoping it doesn't bite us in the butt.
Kurt Warner been a Lamar hater since day one
Nah, his “inconsistency” came from having an objectively terrible WR corps that leads the league in dropped passes every year. They’re currently second in drops per attempt this season
Lamar's footwork is sometimes more akin to a boxer than a traditional QB, which is part of his recipe for his escapability and mobility . It occasionally leads to non-optimal throws, but at the same time is a major component of his success in evading the rush.
Lmao why do I only see people clarify how much of Lamar fan they are when they’re about to criticize him
It's actually his upper body throwing motion that was the problem, he fixed it over the offseason so now it's alot better and now we're seeing lamar being amazing
As long as he doesn't miss too many games. Lamar has missed a start or more in every season SMH
Lol. You really gonna count resting because your team is dominating as missing a start?
@@raekwonsnyder5030I appreciate your uneducated opinion. But it doesn't change the FACT that Lamar missed a start or more in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 20222. He has missed a start or more in every season SMH
Solak is Reddit personified
Ben needs oxygen after this episode
❤
I was getting fed up with this dudes pouting last year but he has put in an amazing season so far
He really wasn't pouting like the narrative claimed.
He kept it pretty under wraps from my perspective. Can't help the nonsense the media ran with.
Pouting? Sounds like you completely misread the situation. That man hasn't pouted a day in his life
@@mars7304 no he just pretended to be injured for a season and didnt play so he could get his money lmao. Get off his meat I didn’t even say anything bad about him.
@@Bobbleheads56 that IS you saying something bad about him lmao, if we're gonna lie and get mad about it being called out you could just do the normal thing and... not lie? Lamar didn't "pretend" to be injured, you are terminally online and believe conspiracy theories about men you've never met.
@@mars7304 not reading all that bro. Meatrider 🚨
And the GMs wanted him to play WR...😂😂😂😂
Mahomes and it’s not even close
love how he's unstoppable yet we forget about Pittsburgh game
He played good that game lol
He played GREAT in that game
Bateman and Aguilar dropped easy "lay-up" touchdown passes. Lamar can't throw it and catch it for them lol
Are we gonna pretend like TJ Watt didn't literally punch Zay Flowers in the face mask to prevent a catch? Between plays like that and all the drops, you're dumb for blaming Lamar.
How interesting, the usual trolls @LamaRB and @MVPickett have nothing to say of late. 😂
I hope systemic racism doesn’t find him!
His vision is incredible. I haven’t appreciated him like this ever. This video showed me so many ways he’s able to use his strengths to the fullest
Great breakdown
I was a fan of Zay before the draft but this video just shows me how nuts he really can be with a great QB like Lamar. That's going to be scary QB-WR duo for years!!!
He ability to make cuts and moves is insanity.
Can't wait for him to reach his potential.
One trait that sold me already bout him is that he was doing all those cuts and crisp route running with some bum QB at BC. So it was a matter of what QB he'd end up with in the pros to try get more out of that skillset. Him ending up with Lamar is pretty fucking nifty.
I agree. This film really reinforced it to me. Zay is giving me strong Lockett vibes.
Fastest throwing motion in the league. Also has top 3 arm strength in the league, don’t @ me
Lamar threw a football 100 yards in high school. There needs to be a QB challenge to settle this. I’d put money on Lamar. Herbert, mahomes, Allen, (healthy) Richardson, would all be the immediate names along with Lamar’s in that elite class of arm strength. Trevor Lawrence also perhaps. Lamar has a whip of an arm tho. And he can deliver with touch and lob ability too. Laser side arm passes. One leg cuz his front leg was kicked from under em as he’s throwing the ball passes. Jump passes over interior rush. Defenders hanging off of em on a rollout just before taking a sack. I’ve seen em so all these things. No one is better.
@@datdamnDUB your @ is the only one I will accept. I agree with every word
12:45 the best and most impressive improv football play I’ve ever seen. Idt this talent will be seen again. Not like this…
Welcome Benjamin you have now reached the Mile High Club where appreciate This man Lamar at a high level.
Not bad for a Running Back
These are legit, nfl reads and throws, deep down the field. These are things he’s always done, but the old offense and personnel never showcased them the way they can be now. And the way he fakes the scramble, draws defenders in, then throws it over their heads is like having to defend play action twice in one play
The joy in recognizing good game you just got a new sub let's get it flock 💜💪🏿
great analysis ..this is the first year Lamar has good (not great) weapons and an Oc that uses them at their best.
You are every Ravens fan right now
Lamar is insane!!
Thank you Ben for spreading the good word. Lamar is indeed the man.
We must protect Ben Solak at all costs.
As a ravens fan who's known it for a while it's nice to see other people realize Lamar is the second best QB in the NFL and can challenge Mahomes
Not me having to explain to my boss why I’m bricked up on a THURSDAY AFTERNOON THANK YOU MR BEN SOLAK 🥵
reminder that any team couldve had lamar for two firsts max and said nah
Great video. First time I have seen your videos so now I’m going to have watch more of you. Thanks heaps
This is a fun video sir. Great job.
You are something else man! Great vid! Keep em up! :)
Love these breakdowns
Luke 21:15
For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
Ben, you are the absolute shit. Best NFL analyst out there. ESPN lit $100 million of fire for Pat Mcafee, and they shoulda given you that money.
WTF NO “Howdy” 😡?! That’s my favorite part! Bro no back “Howdy”!!
You were one of the earliest people to predict him as an MVP. 2 months later, it has became clear.
Brilliant video. Great work.
benny u so good 🎉
Great stuff I just subscribed to u
This is rough. “The problem is that this play has nothing to lock down the linebackers”. Then I proceed to watch a play action
Lmao shut up
The play had no ROUTE to lock down the linebackers. That's what he was saying, and I'm sure that was by design because Ravens had a starter or two out on the OL at the time and needed the RB in to help block. 2/3 LBs read play action, he isn't wrong.
@@mars7304I know what he said. Or doesn’t make sense. why would you need a route when it’s play action. You fake run so the linebackers have to come up to play the run. You don’t need a route to hold them that’s why you have the run action
@@markmamola7167 you don't know how defense works. You don't have 3 LBs on the field and ask them all to come down for the run. He criticized the play for not having the RB run a route out of the backfield to draw the LBs attention to the route so they couldn't drop back and cover the crosser. You completely misunderstand play action if you think the defense is gonna sell out to the run every time.
@@markmamola7167 It would take a LB being a literal child still learning the game for them to jump at the run everytime they see a hand-off. The hand-off isn't what players pick up on when they read play action.
Great job 👍👍👍
