The part with the tape was super clever!

Why did you not weld the seam of the tube that the wooden shaft go down into.i think that seam weakens the spear.

Hey Johnnie. In all honestly i thought about it, but decided I liked it with the seam. And as for the strength it was made mainly to look cool! Hope is answered your question and thanks for asking!

A great display of the use of one's resources.

Very nice. One thing though I will tell you is you better stop laying that grinder down wheel on the bottom after using it. You are going to drop it in a hurry one day and its going to catch and beat you to death or knock everything on the table off.

      Thanks mate,

Ive been caught out by it a few times.
Ill try my best not to.

Would you still use the same ‘pine’ that was severely scorched at the outset. It would have to be somewhat the weakest point with a boar jumping around on the end of it. Burnt looks good??!!

Hey so I don’t quite understand your question but, I think you talking about where I burned on the socket. So in this case the only severe burning was on the surface so it didn’t damage the structural integrity. (I don’t think😅) if that’s not what you meant I’m happy to try answering again!

Actually, scorching wood will make it stronger. It also prevents rot and decay. So long as you don't ever do it.

What is the thing you use as an anvil? Mill stone?

I’m not quite sure what it is exactly, I just know it’s something to do with a railway.

Looks like a cable weight used to keep tension on overhead train electrical cables

The shaft of the spear was about the height of a man, it was made thick and strong enough to be able to catch an attacking animal on the spear, resting the end of the shaft on the ground. Your shaft is too thin in my opinion. There are no complaints about the work with metal.

maybe could have saved some time just welding the spear head to the socket instead of riveting , nice job though .

Yes that’s true, I built it to be more of a decorative spear than an actual hunting spear.

@@MichaelUy Yeah, art is useless by the standard definition, thats what makes it art - not being measured by pragmatic criteria.
