Great review, Chris. I think it is definitely a race-ready shoe for people that want some stability. 5k's & 10k's no problem. I wore the Hyperion Tempo for a 10k race as well as a trail half and had no issues with the shoes in either race. The shoes are light and have some snappiness to them - so if you don't want to race in a plated shoe and you're looking for some stability, I think this would be a good way to go.
Yeah very good feedback thanks
Great review, great to hear that Brooks are listening and giving us something we NEED!! I still think they could make the guide rails look nicer though. Smooth off those slash marks and you've save some weight too 😜
Yeah I’m with you but defo moving in the right direction
Great review. I think they *are* good for races. Ran a 5k race in these, they were fantastic :-)
Thank you and well done!!!
Can you explain what you mean when you say this can work for fast training but not races? I’m quite new to running so currently have one (adrenaline GTS) for longer runs and this one for faster training (and racing) but just wondered what you meant. Personally not looking for carbon super shoes but is that perhaps what you were getting at?
This is literally music to my ears!! Hopefully a super shoe/race day shoe is next 🤞🏼
Let’s hope so
@@FordyRuns any idea when they’re being released? Can’t see anything online 🤷🏼♀️
This is very interesting. I want the other brands to think more about us stability wearers. That said the saucony tempus has been great for tempo training and I did run a half in it and I felt great.
Btw some of the side cuts to a short comment are great.
hi, Thank you for this video, very helpful. Could you please let me know what would you recommend for the race day ( fast for long distances ) ? as in stability shoes to prevent overpronation? I am doing a market research, your suggestion will be very appreciated ! Thank you!
This sounds like just what I need. I mainly do track work, sprints, and my warmups are less than 3mi. My question to you is, does another brand have anything equivalent or is this a one-of-a-kind??
Nice 1... just did a first longrun in my new superblast, wich is surprisingly stable too
The Adidas Adios line have been working very well for me since the Adios 4 and I overpronate . There are quite a few really stable running shoes that work as well as a stability shoes. But the Hyperion GTS seems very interesting for me to try ... I liked my Adidas SolarBoost 5 that have the same "guardrails " thing to guide the foot and work as a stability shoes.
just love that shoe
Cracking review as always and I’m loving that colourway.
Yeah it’s banging
Nice review. What stability shoe would you run a, 5k, 10k, half, full marathon in?
Warren Buffett owns Brooks - No wonder why they've been stuck in the 80s for so long. They're on the right track though (excuse the pun)
They are to be fair defo making the right moves
I have the same theory. Berkshire Hathaway is not known for making bold moves, but long-term safe basic plays that work.
That’s a fun way to make the video 😊 very entertaining ❤
Thank you
Yeah enjoying the double camera setup, nice way to catch some quips 😆
are you mixing it up a little with second camera n stuff? I personally don't like the bare running footage (without review talking over it) and the music volume was quite high, but nice review. how does it compare to the Tempus?
Thanks for the feedback
I just got them. The problem is there aren’t really race shoes for those who need a stability shoe
Buy the kinvara pro if you can afford it
@@FordyRuns Is it knew stable then the vaporfly? I tried those but I noticed if the road had any camber I felt it in my ankle so I could only wear the vaporfly on a very flat road
Super good and thorough review! In your opinion, what would be the limitation of using it as marathon racing shoe?
too firm for me
Great review. Been running in Ravenna (and subsequently Launch GTS) since 2018 and was sorely tempted by these. I've tried cushioned shoes for long runs but just couldn't live with them and went straight back to the Launch GTS, so am wary of changing shoes. As well as for tempo and interval runs, would these be a good shoe for a tarmac parkrun? Do they have a much different feel to the Launch GTS? After my (first ever) marathon in October, I want work on getting my 5k & parkrun time down inside 21m (so about 30s of improvement on my ultimate pb).
Fab for a tarmac parkrun
@FordyRuns perfect for an attempt at long eaton or colwick parkrun :) 👍
I'm currently in the Adrenaline, and I've never tried the Hyperion GTS. Just curious, but how would you compare it to the Saucony Tempus, as one of the newer lighter weight stability shoes?
any idea when is released and msrp? thanks!!!!!
Great video :) If this isn’t for race day what do you recommend for race day for people with stability needs?
Adidas pro 3
Adidas pro 3
@@FordyRuns When you say adidas pro 3, do you mean adziro adios pro 3? (ive never owned adidas so I am clueless! )
Can anyone tell me if this works for hallux rigidus? I have a fused big toe and adrenaline gts was working except they rub the back of my heels. I mostly walk.
What would you suggest for race day then mate for us runners who need support
Kinvara pro
@@FordyRuns is that not a neutral shoe ?
How do you think this compares to the Puma ForeverRun? Worth having both if you’ve already got the Puma?
Puma is a high stack shoe. This is a very low stack shoe. This one is good for fast workouts. The PUMA one is good for recovery runs, easy runs. PUMA ForeverRun is better compared to Brooks Glycerin 20 GTS if you must.
So if you need a support shoe? what happens when it comes to Race Day marathon for example? run in a stability shoe or any race day shoe?
id go adidas pro 3
@@FordyRuns I got my gait analysis done at the weekend and found out I need a support shoe! But for race day wanted to run in pro 3 so pleased you said that 😉👍
Can’t find these, even on the Brooks website.
July 1st I think
What’s the difference between the brooks launch gts and the Hyperion gts ? The launch is an up tempo stability shoe ?
DNA flash midsole
@@FordyRuns thanks for the reply - I don’t even know what dna flash is ? Is it more spongy ? More energy return ? I have the launch gts 9 which is pretty good - wondering what I would use the hyperions for if I were to get them .
@@andrewslads DNA Flash is Brook's Nitrogen infused premium'ish foam. Hyperion Line is their "racing" speed line. You would be surprised how light these are. Launch is marketed as their up tempo shoe (compared to say Ghost/Adrenaline) but really not on the same level. Now while there are many better shoes from other brands, this one is unique in the stability shoe market.
Oh yeah
yep!
Hyperion GTS or DS Trainer or Fastwitch?
These
@@FordyRuns Interesting. After overusing my carbon plate super shoes I needed a break to recover from PTTD. I picked up the DS Trainer 26 again to help me get back to fast training (sorry, Tempus. still a daily/long trainer) and I'm happy to say I'm able to run daily again, albeit a minute slower. For shoe geeks like us, this could be a great shoe to add to our stability collection to use on shorter faster days and save the "Adios Pro" type shoes for critical long workouts and races. I'll have to try these out and compare to the DS Trainers.
Hi Fordy, Would you be able to recommend a race-day(half marathon) shoe for runners with mild stability needs?
Adidas pro 3
Asics Noosa Tri 14 is neutral but it's inherently stable as well. If you're lightweight you might want to check out the Asics DS Trainer 26. Another option could be the Saucony Tempus
This or the tempus ?:)
Different shoes tbh… the Tempus will do much more
The one you have looks awesome - I bet the women's colour ways will be crap... they always are!
I hope not
theyre bright pink.. almost barbie pink ! great for everyone who likes pink, not so great for those who wish to avoid!
Good morning. Thanks Fordy for this new information about the Brooks 2023. Here is my like. A nice monday for everyone. 🌞🏃🌤️
Thanks 👍
