Very insightful, how does this only have a couple thousand views?
Damn that so refreshing news to find out that theirs more Black horror film directors 😃
So far everyone, even the new black movie directors have been sleeping on this 1980 horror film Night of the demon in which the black man does what a real black person would do in a horror film. and lives . this movie is now on you tube and it should be a classic
This comment section is insanely toxic. Why can’t poc talk about and critique their representation in film without being bombarded by racist bots. We’ve silenced for so long, we have every right 🤷🏽♀️
Maybe if she didn’t refer to white people as bland and “mayonnaise” you’d find more constructive criticism in the comment section. But, you know, as long as a black girl says something racist it’s okay because “rEpReSeNtAtIon!” Also, “toxic” is the laziest and most overused word of the past few years. Buy a thesaurus.
07foxmulder 07foxmulder 07foxmulder Reverse racism isn’t a thing. Don’t try to equate “mayonnaise” as a racist insult on the level of insults/slurs that minorities are targeted with. At most her comment was unnecessary, not racist. Regardless the need for better black representation in the horror genre is a real issue. And her comment doesn’t invalidate that issue or justify all of the hateful comments directed towards the documentary.
I used the word toxic because it’s the correct word to define this comment section. There’s literally nothing wrong with me using it, and doesn’t take away any validity from my point. I hope you feel a weird sense of superiority for policing how many times someone should use a word. 🤷🏽♀️
Liz Carter Liz Carter Liz Carter
I never called anything “reverse racism”, I called it racism. It clearly was a racist insult and you denying it just proves how petty you are. It’s funny that you cry and accuse me of policing words when you’re doing the same thing with what is or isn’t racist. But keep defending your girl. It’s speaks volumes about your character. Take care xoxoxo
07foxmulder You didn’t have to. How can a black person be racist when racism was constructed by white people, perpetuated by white people and black people have no beneficial gain from racism ever. It was not racist, your desire for white people to oppressed is so plainly obvious and embarrassing that you’d make the stretch that mayonnaise is a racist term lol.
If it is racist how come it isn’t classified as that in the dictionary. Maybe you should brush up on your definitions. I’m not even policing, I’m literally just stating the facts. Your ignorance is showing. ✌🏽
Liz Carter Sorry, your revisionist definition of racism doesn’t fly in the real world. And I’m the one who needs a dictionary? I don’t desire any sort of oppression for any race. I’m not sure how me calling out a bigoted woman equates to me believing that her opinion is the equivalent of oppression. Your assumptions are desperate. Face it. You just can’t handle the opinion of a white person. You’re defensive and petty. And ignorant ✌🏻
The late 1980s and 1990s decades proved how talented black people are in television black comedies and dramas are way better than white shows and Hollywood don't like to admit black people are the best actors right now black Hollywood is dying
Lol
Stop it...black movies suck..that’s why everybody is always crying about not winning no oscars...nobody goes to see the movies...
@@johnnyfeathers2567 you know they’re good but don’t want to admit it. You need to stop.
Darn, that's prejudice as hell
I was watching that weird ocean horror movie at the cinema. Oh. My. Gosh. THE BLACK GUY DIED FIRST. IT WASN'T EVEN A COOL DEATH.
It's called 47 meters down.
Blade doesn't get the credit it deserves, excited for the 2022 reboot!!!!
I had no idea Tales From the crypt Demon Knight was directed by Ernest Dickerson I'm so late. He needs to so more horror films as well.
This comment section is weird as hell... Why do people of the largest racial group in the US get so angry when Americans of other groups speak on their experiences and the issues that affect them? You guys most likely purposely never cross paths with others who don’t look like you, so it surely couldn’t be that hard to ignore this video, especially if it irked you before watching. Anywho, people aren’t going to be quiet or hide themselves simply because it makes you uncomfortable. 😅
Who here remembers Return of the Living Dead? Miguel A. Núñez Jr. lived. And 28 Days Later. Naomie Harris.
Its crazy how in horror movies blacks be the first to die or not survive the movie 🤣😂😂
That’s funny because in the movie Deep Blue sea LL Cool J is one of the last 2 people to survive...
@@johnnyfeathers2567 I'm talking about more likely....
@@johnnyfeathers2567 makes since
Danny Glover survive in predator 2
This is a well thought out, insightful video, yet all the comments are talking about is that horror is trash or crying out about reverse racism 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Rewind is definitely the best episode of Peele's twilight's zone. It stayed with me for a while.
Great video.
I loved The first purge.
In the old and new concepts used to portray black culture, specifically in media the most prevalent stereotypes are taken directly from the negative projections of that culture instead of the individual who destests that culture. These projections are seen as scary and thus are shown in that way, if black culture didn’t accentuate and at times praise these displays of ”culture” they wouldn’t be used to form a story. The horror films I’ve seen so far from this community copies and pastes, nothing ends up standing out or deviatets from a predicted outcome.
Yeah, it's black cultures own fault. Thanks for explaining that. So where can I buy these glasses you see the world through?
Camilo Santana Just talk to a black man with an education who adheres to diversity of thought as opposed to skin and you should hear similar sentiments.
@@redactedc1928 I'll be sure to start my conversation with that opening line. Oh, constructive dialogue. Here I come! 👍🏼
@@CamiloSantana Can you name one predominantly black populated country/city that is not a cesspool?
@@SkankHunt-zs7og can you name 5000 predominantly white locales that are cesspools? I sure can. I like this whatabout game. It's fun. 🙃
I don’t think it’s fair to include bird box and candy man here…..
Anaconda? The Purge (the "first" one)? I Know what you did last summer 2? The Thing? The Craft? Gothika? Alien vs Predator?
House on Haunted Hill 1999, Thirteen Ghosts 2001, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3,

@ midway... the Black chapter survived in A nightmare on elm st. Part 3 only to be the 1st character die off in the fourth film warning everyone that Freddy was back. 🤦🏽♀️
The Bury your Gays trope is a variation.
I highly dislike horror films.
Then why are you watching a video about horror films?
Mayonnaise is a black thing in my country
Ghost ship a movie where everybody died except the white girl
Sam did get kill 1st n that
In a nutshell.
"Black people dying on movies is rasist!"
I mean is not like most of the time the large majority of victims on movies and fiction are white and they usually die on far worse and gory ways unlike them. Oh wait...
So not only where you too stupid to understand the evidence presented in the video you're too stupid to spell correctly as well.
Auron1Roxas2 and you continue to act like a dumbass in every video
Auron1Roxas2 And yet your grammar is atrocious.
@@l-san1517 No it's actually not. But I guess I can't count on racist being intelligent in any way.
Auron1Roxas2 “not where you too stupid”
This is just sad.
Since jewish people own all of the studios and make all of the television and movies, why doesn't the root blame them? Is it because Jewish people own the root?
@@LilWhitePrivileged so you're discriminating against Jewish *and* black folk. Cookie cutter hate right there 👍🏼
I am only subscribed to see how stupid this stuff gets.
Yes the history of black people dying in horror movies and the history behind it is sad. And racist.
@@Auron1Roxas2 Thanks. I needed a laugh today!
Is it really complicated? I cant help but feel like this is another imagined racial boogeyman.
THE BLACK MAN DIES FIRST - can be disproven if you actually watch American Horror films. If you don't believe me, go and watch 20 American Horror Movies from the 1980s and come back and tell me how many black men or woman died first. The fact that in 2020 people are actually being told that this "perceived racism" is a fact, is disturbing, considering all you have to do to debunked it .... is to actually just watch horror films. Also, this lady praises the positive representation of the black characters in "The First Purge" in which the hero is a gang banger and DRUG KINGPIN? Strange?
Ok, I thought I was the only one who thought this. Where did this myth even come from? I can't think of a single movie in where the black person dies first.
As usual, thought provoking video content juxtaposed with racist zealots in the comments 😅
Love this piece. Keep up the good work.
Wow you're so WoKe man
"Thought provoking"?? 😂😂😂😂
A simple question Camilo, could you name 20 horror films out of the 1000's made in Amercian, where a black man dies first?
The forever victims 🤦♂️
I know, right. Black people always complaining about things we see and know but don't wanna talk about.
@@CamiloSantana Yet Africans still risk everything to migrate here every year.
@@SkankHunt-zs7og LoL, that makes *no* sense. Black Americans got add much in common with African migrants as most other people do with their European counterparts.
We're talking about the portrayal of Americans in movies by makers of those films who think it more acceptable, if you must ease an audience into knowing someone's gonna die, that you throw the darkest skinned American into the pit before any their fellow citizens.
@@CamiloSantana What ever you say.
Maybe try making movies rather than youtube videos of you crying and you can change it!
Maybe try pulling your head out of your own ass and realizing we're already making movies. You should also try being productive for once in your sad life instead of being a racist youtube troll.
@@Auron1Roxas2 What ever you say Kunte Kinte
@@Auron1Roxas2 what movies? shit flicks like get out and dear white people real nail biters
If you’ll notice all they’re sit coms and movies are mostly recycled situations and ideas from white movies...can’t even come up with original stuff...oh wait there was ....Don’t be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood..oh and Death at a funeral...oops never mind that was a remake of a white film...my bad...
I wonder how much money they had to waste making this video that can't get a 1,000 views. Keep fighting the good fight.... I guess.
Seriously? The race card?
*They don’t even add Mexicans and Asians and India’s as much why are they complaining *
I rather not to be in a movie than die first almost all the time 😂.

You lost any credibility you might have had right there. Instead of attempting to make a thought-provoking argument (something you’re clearly incapable of), your inner racist comes out swinging. It’s both hilarious and sad.
The worst part was I was actually agreeing with her until she said that....
