- This week I take you along to 3 different auctions for farm equipment and collectibles. I find and purchase a 1920 Victrola record player and a 1938 Case CC tractor. You can weld that Crack nowdays to repair it n I weld cast alot n I just heat it up n use copper bracing rod
Agreed sir. I used high nickel arc rods to weld up part of my cylinder head on my Deere 5020 that I built. One of the lugs that the exhaust manifold mounted to had broken off. I built it back up, used a mag drill to drill it straight, and tapped her back out. Welding cast is a bit of an art. Slow and steady. Thanks!
You were better off leaving the picker tractor. It's probably rusted tight at the bottom where it's sitting in the ground. You need to find one sitting in a barn for 40 years.
@7710 power, I agree. Good chance the one buried rim was rusted through and almost every cog on the picker was frozen solid that I tried to move. I am still on the search for a mounted picker though.
The IH utility tractor is a modal 240.
The picker tractor was wd45. The wd45 later was actually a Wd. 1953 was a weird cross over as it was first year for wd45 and last year for Wd. Side cover on right side of engine is the give away point and serial number
