Can you splice in the dorman quick connect purge valve that is designed for the 2.0 litre onto the 1.5 liter harness? I dont see why not, other than the electrical connector being at a different angle, but i could extend the wiring so it fits. What do you think?
Thanks for the response, Ford in Canada wants $394.86 for the oem hoses before tax! $442.24 after tax. You killed it in this video getting all the ends off in less than 10 minutes by the way.
I had bank 1 sensor 1 code but no purge valve code so I replaced O2 sensor went to road test then my P0496 code popped up it’s nice to live and learn except the purge valve is on National back order
My local ford dealer is saying that after they replace this part they also have to change out the vapor canister and sensor also. Does this sound right or am I getting ripped off?
@@automotivetech-vet thank you! I’ve watched a dozen of these videos now and haven’t seen anyone suggesting to change the canister also. I will have to double check with what they said but I believe they said not changing the sensor and canister could eventually fry the pcm but the only symptoms I’m having is the common not wanting to start after fueling
Thanks for the video. I did this on my Focus and now having the same issue with my Escape. Will the code clear itself and remove the check engine light after driving it for a few days or will I have to take it in to get it cleared?
I have all the symptoms and a 02 sensor code stored but no check engine light good this be it , I have the same vehicle. And info would be greatly appreciated
@@automotivetech-vet whats the part number? I got one from autozone (PV1003) and was told it's wrong by the shop. In autozone's computer it says it's the right one, but evidently that's wrong
Not sure it's best to call the dealership with your vin number so u don't get the wrong purge solenoid there are a few different ones for different engine sizes!!
I got part #GV6Z9D289E (A is old revision) for my 2019 Ford Escape 1.5L; seems to fit 2017-2019 model years. Unsure what part # for 2.0L. Should cost ~$180-220
im dealing with he same issue and I found your video very productive. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This video is gonna be very helpful for me since my girlfriend's 19 escape just threw this code yesterday.
My Daddy always said “ the smaller the Ford, the BIGGER the PROBLEMS”!

Thank you sir
I need this done to mine today, any suggestions?
Thank you!!!
Do you have a part number? Only thing I can find is the cannister valve, and it looks pretty different.
I had bank 1 sensor 1 code but no purge valve code so I replaced O2 sensor went to road test then my P0496 code popped up it’s nice to live and learn except the purge valve is on National back order
What’s the part number on that. I have the same problem on my 2019 fusion 1.5 tirbo
Where did you purchase the purge valve?
is this similar in location for a 2019 ford ranger?
Could replacing this fix a small evap leak code?

I never do and have no problems so just my advice

It will clear itself after a complete drive cycle
@@automotivetech-vet Thanks for the quick reply! I appreciate it!
How do you get the code to clear after changing it by yourself at home
I have all the symptoms and a 02 sensor code stored but no check engine light good this be it , I have the same vehicle. And info would be greatly appreciated
Most definitely
Is this problem recurring? Like if I fix it, will it happen again?
Unfortunately not sure I would hope they updated the sensor time will tell my friend

@@mnpeep where did you order this part from?
You should also be able to order it from any other dealership; I am not aware of any non-oem version
