    This is one of the best instructional videos on UA-cam. Great job. Notes for anyone looking to do this:
    1) The windshield wipers may require a small two-leg puller to break loose the spline (you'll see it even says "use puller" on the base of the wiper).
    2) I was hesitant to do the bottom end work so I took it to my trusted local mechanic. He showed me that the sensor can be removed without dropping the drive shaft. It's tricky to be sure. He used a crows-foot type sensor wrench and an offset ratchet to break it loose. While this may not be "by the book," I thought it worth a comment. Your results may vary, of course.

      Great points!
      I actually have that "crows foot" o2 sensor socket you mentioned. I should have tried it. I just cannot stand working in tight places though so I usually remove anything that makes sense haha. It rather spend an extra 10 minutes removing something than 10 minute struggling to reach and turning a wrench 5° at a time.

      I'm about to replace the bank 1 sensor 2 and removing that driveshaft looks irritating, I'm glad I found this commment.

    Very good instructional video bud. I work on way to many cars to be able to remember each step and little trick, even after doing the same job a couple of times. You got the video time down to around 15 minutes, which is perfectly the right amount of time to use your instructional as a refresher at lunch. Which saves me time, due to not having to think up and remember what to do next, smooths things out nicely. 👍

    In my Escape, it's FWD. I see the reduced labor cost of not needing to remove the drive shaft. In a perfect world, you would have commented on that possibility, but I'm betting all the under shield details apply. I may try and skip the battery box removal and comment if I am successful. Regardless, you have produced a GREAT video!

    I hate the engineers who thought this was a good design. Great tut though thanks.

    Great video quality. In my opinion the best Ive ever seen on youtube. I retired from the industry 10 years ago and sure glad I didnt have to do any of these. However now my wife owns one and has P0141. Fun times ahead!

    took the whole damn car apart! just did this Job in 15 min, needed a flathead to remove air box and an O2 sensor socket and some electrical tape to pull it through, unless your getting paid by the hour use some common sense and get your vehicle working, save yourself 650$ to boot.

      This was the "by the book" method. Not defending it, just displaying it.

      Yes I definitely should have also commented on the fact that this was not a bash on you or your demonstration, you did great work all around, it's just crazy that this is In fact by the book. I mostly wanted to put it out there for others watching this that there is an alternative way for whatever the individual's circumstances are.

    This video was super helpful 👍🏼 I fortunately did not have to disconnect the driveshaft only the cross member I heat the sensor with a torch & was able to get it off like that thanks for this though 👍🏼

      I honestly don't know how you were able to get that sensor out with such a tight squeeze, I have a cat paw with 2 swivel sockets yeah it's on but too get it to ratchet off is nearly impossible, I seriously would like to see how you did that because I am now removing the driveshaft because my hands and arms are just too big to fit in.

    2.0 eco boost has the connector behind the motor. Easy to see once you remove the battery box

    This is insane how the engineers engineered this engine. You could tell that engineers that bill these new engines don’t actually work on them. Day in the day out.

    Genuine bit of confusion: the driveshaft will not rotate when in neutral, parking brake off, and rear wheels on stands. What am I missing.

      @ It’s always something. I was going to finish the car that day but then I stripped one of the driveshaft bolts when I almost dropped the impact driver. 🙂🙂🙂
      Had to button it up while I wait for parts. Fourth try will be the one.

      Everything was ok with this after i cleared purge code,scanner says all ok before code cleared,the scanner says this drive cycle it reads O2 not ready? Is this a coincidence or what? Need help with this.

    • @BrakeTheBank
      @BrakeTheBank  3 місяці тому

      Did you replace the o2 sensor?
      Once you replace it you should be able to clear the codes and be good to go. You might have to complete several drive cycles if it's a "permanent" code.
      Google about how to complete a drive cycle.

    • @BrakeTheBank
      @BrakeTheBank  Рік тому

      Try spinning a wheel. Sometimes you don't have enough to grab on the driveshaft.
      If none of the wheels spin then you're definitely in park.
