Robert is so humble, very hard to find these days. No ego and if any a healthy amount. He truly is a national treasure. Also Love the mention of Michael Jackson as a fan of his also, and to hear that Robert too believed MJ was innocent 😁 shame we live in a judgemental world, where someone with a good heart who is innocent gets ridiculed. Never stop being you. Prejudice is ignorance. Peace and love to you all ✌️
Absolutely fascinating interview, thanks for uploading! Out of interest who is Jane Granby and what was her role in the Cure organisation? V jealous to hear she was staying at the Manor during the WMS recording and watched Robert and Perry jam!
From googling she seems to be an artist who has had life-long brain cancer and is a cure fan. I wonder if she was invited there through the make a wish foundation. She does talk and ask questions like only a young person would!
Poor robert in Monterrey! My first concert was that one even though I come from England! From the audience perspective it was incredible as they really love the Cure and it was their first time there!
@@TCDB - good to know. By the way, if you every need any info about the guitars and amps and stuff used by Robert and the others, I know an obscene amount about this useless subject. (Not that I can think why you might ever want that info!)
@@pabcrane Thanks for your offer. I'm not obsessed with the gear side of any band but if I will ever need info about it for something I will get in touch. :)
@@pabcrane hey Paul I always wondered what guitar effects they used on seventeen seconds. It sounds almost like chorus but more transparent than the flange and chorus effects the band would use later on.
@@kangvolcano9171 - most of the chorus would be from the Roland JC 120 which has a stereo chorus built it. I believe the flanger used around this time would have been the Electro Harmonix Electric Mistress : )
I am very curious to how these interviews got released? Did the author just post them after the book didn’t get published? They are so personal and both Simon and Robert seem to be very unguarded. Somehow it even feels a bit wrong to listen to them knowing how private they are… The stories about Mary in hospital and her having to leave while Robert was on a bender are a bit heartbreaking ❤️🩹

Man I wish I could see his expressions during this conversation! The laughter alone! ❤

Thought I’d heard every interview. Thanks!
robert not even knowing when Disintegration came out is histerical
A enigma, the more he speaks. Such a eloquent artist. My Robert. Pour la vie. Tu n'est pas un enfant. Tu est l'univers .

Counting the number of previously unsolved crimes in Crowley that have now been resolved from the one interview 🤣🤣
That’s crazy. He’s eccentric ❤❤
51:01 Jupiter Crash!
Logan Pearsall Smith.
why does it cut at 1:45:37 ?
There are at least 3 cuts in the recording. Why? Ask Johnny Black who made the recording.
ah ok, thanks. i really enjoyed the video :)
Tape pro'lly ran out!
Did Johnny Black abandon his Cure book idea?
Well, it wasn't released for sure.
Did the book Johnny keeps referencing ever get written? If so I've not seen it or heard of it.
I don't know about a book by him but he wrote the sleeve notes of Join The Dots and the deluxe edition albums.

I'm not sure, but I would assume the author might have posted them online.
