AHAHAHAHA 🙈 "I'm a little annoyed at Rosika!" ....cut to me literally flinching in my kitchen on another continent! BUT IT IS A STANDALONE!!!! Technically..... I think he did write it to be a stand alone then said later he'd do a sequel. Plus is it my fault he wrote 1000000 books other than finishing what should definitely be a series..... Although hear me out , MAYBE by saying it can be read as a stand alone was me being "anti spoiler" for your benefit...... it's not a good defense, but it's the logical fallacy I'm standing on. I definitely thought I was gonna get yelled at harder. Ahahaha and Joel needing a good slap in the face is definitely part of the reading experience 🤣 Also I thought of another bookish pet peeve you may enjoy: when there is a cat featured on the cover and then no cat in the book at all." We're gonna call it cat fishing. I'm gonna make it happen. And yes screw fake stickers.

I apologise for the kitchen anxiety! But yeah, that book is not a standalone. Or it is, but in the same way the Mistborn era 1 books are standalone. So many questions left unanswered! The way he ends it, he had to know when writing it that it was never just going to be one book 😭😭😭
This cat fishing example feels like you have been burned by it recently - which book hurt Rosika? Which book do I need to manage my expectations for?

@@amysrambles6748 Ahahaha it least it was comedically funny kitchen anxiety! It was kinda like when you're a kid and your mom says your name in that special way that means you're in trouble and you almost drop a plate while trying to duck out of sight? THAT was the sensation.😂I do think he has a habit of doing that, even Elantris and Warbreaker had loose threads to keep following. I was catfished by Days at the Morasaki Bookshop. So much cat on all the versions of the cover, ZERO CATS. Not even a whisper of a hairball. I'm still damaged over it.
