  • The things you find while remodeling a house. People always ask why we open a project house all the way down to the studs. Find out why in the in depth videos about flipping houses. We will talk about joist hangers and what happens to a house if you don't use them.
With so many content creators claiming that owning real estate is just easy money or “passive income” I wanted to show the real side of owning real estate. It’s hard dirty work. We are going to show our viewers the good, the bad and the ugly side of owning and managing real estate. Don’t get me wrong, there can be good money in owning and flipping real estate, but it comes with great risk. Will this be a good purchase or will this house become a money pit?
Over the next few months, I will be releasing videos of our progress on this property. I want to encourage you to submit your opinions on the decisions we make along the way. And of course, I expect the armchair critics to come along too.
My name is Jim Viebrock, I’ve been a real estate broker since 2006 and I have been flipping houses since 1987. With nearly 40 years of experience under my belt I’ve seen a lot of products and methods of work come and go. Over the course of this project, we will discuss how some of the changes weathered time. Did the old method last? Will the new products go the distance? We’ll talk about the pros and cons as I see them and open the debate for others to have their say.

Jim Viebrock is a 40 year veteran in the home repair and woodworking fields. Jim is also a real estate professional (Realtor) who along with his wife Renee own many residential and commercial properties.
These home repair videos and woodworking videos will show you in detail how to build a project from start to finish with handy shop tips along the way. Geared for the beginner woodworker or home repair do it yourselfer these videos will take you step by step and discuss why each step is necessary. Drawing on Jim Viebrock's 40+ year woodworking and home repair experience, you will hear and learn from his past mistakes and life experiences. The shop is not flashy, the homes are real projects and that translates into what you will face in real daily challenges when repairing a home or building a woodworking project. Although Jim has the commercial tools you would expect to find in a veteran woodworkers shop, he will demonstrate the techniques in a plain spoken manner using "home grade" tools that you can buy at the big box retailers. Nothing is more frustrating than to want to learn something new, only to be shown "how to" on equipment that you will never own. Jim's video's will take you from a beginner woodworker and show you tips and techniques on how the more complicated procedures are done, teaching you new skills, and advancing your craftsmanship level.

Have to check the catalog for details but Simpson makes screws to connect top plates to rafters for wind uplift. Replaces hurricane ties. Might work in place of hangers as well. We are in a hurricane zone and I always try to strengthen the framing when it is accessible.
